Chapter 746 - 754: You Care About Me A Lot

She hugged him, exceptionally quiet.

"Jane Sampson," James Black suddenly called out to her, "woman, do all of you cry so easily?"

Jane Sampson, visibly upset by James Black’s question, huffed, "I am not a crybaby!"

"Lying with your eyes wide open," James Black sneered, "last night, who was crying like a broken faucet that couldn’t be stopped? Who was hiding in the kitchen just now, secretly crying? If I hadn’t gone down to look for you, were you planning on sitting in the kitchen crying all night without returning to the bedroom?"

Jane thought, half an hour ago, could she really have been moved by a man like James Black?

Her brain must be malfunctioning.

"I wasn’t crying! And go to sleep!" Jane yelled at James Black, then quickly retracted her hand, attempting to turn away from him.

However, though James Black’s hands were immobile, that didn’t prevent him from using his foot to stop her from turning over.

"Hold me," James Black’s tone intensified, "Who allowed you to let go? Who gave you permission to turn away?"

Jane, distressed to the core, reluctantly reached out and wrapped her arms around his waist again, but her feet couldn’t help but kick against his lower legs a couple of times in frustration.

To James Black, Jane’s kicks were like light tickles. He chuckled, not stopping her, and began to talk to her.

"You wanted so much to perform onstage with Mr. Carter, but because of me, you gave up such a rare opportunity." Pausing, James Black glanced at the expression of the person beside him before continuing, "When I went into the surgery room, you cried so hard. Jane Sampson, are you afraid something will happen to me? Afraid I’ll get hurt? Or are you actually afraid that I might die?"

Jane had not expected James Black to suddenly ask her this.

She froze there, unable to recover from his question for a while.

There was no doubt in Jane’s heart about the answer to this question.

She feared something happening to him, feared him getting hurt, and feared his death even more.

Yet, Jane didn’t want to tell him the response in her heart.

She wrapped her arms around his waist and slowly closed her eyes, never considering the possibility of verbally responding to him.

"Jane Sampson, do you care about me a lot?" As Jane evaded the question by pretending to sleep, James Black gently curved the corners of his mouth and softly smiled, "If you don’t answer, I’ll take it as an admission."

The woman with closed eyes suddenly opened them, glaring at him like a startled cat lifting its head.

"Stop talking nonsense! Just sleep!" There was a definite touch of embarrassed rage in her tone, "How could I not fear your death? You’ve invested all my money in financial management. You only left me two bucks in my bank account. If you died, I wouldn’t have any money to spend!"

"Nonsense," James Black scolded Jane Sampson.

"Don’t you like to hear the truth?" Jane rejoiced, baring her small white teeth in a triumphant smile at James Black.

"You know my bank card password, don’t you? That argument doesn’t hold," James Black rebutted Jane Sampson’s reasoning and disclosed another matter, "I have a will. If something happens to me, all my inheritance goes to you alone."

The casual mention of the will sent shivers down Jane’s spine.

A will?

"When did you make a will?" Jane was utterly astonished, "Why would you make a will at such a young age?"

"To be precise, I made a will as soon as I graduated from the guardian team’s high school and officially joined the guard team, but the latest will was amended after we got married." James Black said, "It’s the same now, if something happens to me, all my inheritance goes only to you."

When he changed his will, James thought, his grandfather didn’t lack money and was also getting on in years, so leaving his inheritance to his grandfather seemed meaningless.
