Chapter 776 - 784: Becoming Like This with Gas
"Wow, what a big heart," James Black stared at Jane Sampson’s sleeping face and mused, "Still able to sleep even when she’s that angry."
After teasing Jane to himself, James finally closed his eyes to conjure up some sleepiness.
No matter how angry he was on the inside, Jane indeed slept very well.
The next morning when she woke up, James Black had already left the bedroom.
Jane Sampson saw him in the courtyard, stretching his muscles. As soon as their gazes met, she quickly looked away. Although she had not allowed James to have a full meal last night out of anger, this morning, Jane fed him breakfast with an expressionless face, even cold.
James had endured all night, thinking that after a good night’s sleep, Jane, who was quick to anger but also to cool down, would have gotten over it by now. To his surprise, she seemed even more intense that morning.
"How long do you plan on not talking to me?" After the meal, Jane was washing dishes in the kitchen, and James stood at the kitchen doorway, leaning against the wall and staring at the back of her head for several minutes before finally unable to hold back, he spoke up.
With her back to James, Jane’s lips quietly curled up at the corners as she continued in silence.
James’s eyebrows frowned, "This is the silent treatment, you know?"
After putting the washed bowl and chopsticks away, Jane turned around, glanced at the man accusing her of giving him the silent treatment, huffed, held her head high, and walked past James, running upstairs.
James did not chase after her, but instead sat on the sofa in the living room with a headache.
How should he coax her?
Should he just take out the hairpin and give it to her?
But if he gave it to her now, what would he give her for Valentine’s Day?
There James sat, still pondering, when footsteps from the staircase were heard.
He looked up towards it and saw Jane, already changed into new clothes, light makeup applied, carrying her purse, and coming downstairs.
James’s first thought was, is she going to run away from home?
So he stood up quickly and walked briskly towards Jane. After blocking her way, it dawned on James that she hadn’t taken any luggage with her, so it probably wasn’t likely that she was running away from home.
"Where are you going?" James asked.
"If I don’t plan to take you with me for fun, why ask so much?" Jane finally replied.
James was left speechless; when women become petty, it really is...
"Will you be back by noon?" James tried another approach.
"Depends on my mood," Jane answered and then walked past James, put on her shoes, and left after putting on her mask, hat, and sunglasses.
Jane Sampson didn’t actually go anywhere special, just had arranged to meet with Quincy Forest for a visit.
Coco Edwards had repeatedly entrusted her with Rock Bell’s instructions that these few days Jane should not go to crowded public places. So, after leaving her home and getting into Coco’s car, naturally, she could only go to the hotel to find Quincy Forest.
"Your James Black is stuck at home in a semi-disabled state, and you actually have the heart to come out?" Quincy Forest teased Jane as she opened the door for her and Coco.
"Just stepping out for a short while, I still have to go back and cook at 10:30," Jane muttered; angry as she was, she couldn’t really starve James.
Before she returned, in case he got thirsty, the kitchen had a glass of water she had prepared for him with a straw in it, so all he had to do was lower his head to drink, and therefore Jane wasn’t worried about James being thirsty.
