Chapter 886 - 894: Already Scolded
She just didn’t return to the dormitory at noon, and in the afternoon, when Jane Sampson came to the guard team, he had completely forgotten to scrub and wash his clothes.
James Black leaned in the doorway, and Jane Sampson only noticed him when she turned around after washing her clothes, intending to hang them up to dry.
As soon as she turned and saw someone in the doorway, she was obviously startled, her steps instinctively stepping back as she let out a soft gasp, her face full of panic.
"When did you start standing there? Why didn’t you make any noise? You scared me." Jane Sampson patted her chest and then used a clothes fork to hang her clothes up.
"When you were saying that the darned turtle must have been wallowing in the mud." After James Black spoke, he glanced at Jane Sampson’s expression, saw her eyebrows tremble slightly, and her guilty eyes drifting outward, before he walked over and patted her head with his hand.
She had just finished her bath, and her hair was not completely dry yet, casually draped over her shoulders, feeling even softer when it was drier.
But, through his tousling, her already untidy hair now looked even more like a bird’s nest.
Jane Sampson gave him an annoyed look, swatting away his large palm before she bypassed James Black and returned to the living room.
"Why are you hiding?" James Black followed her into the living room and asked from behind her, "You’ve already cursed, isn’t it too late to be scared now?"
Jane Sampson ignored James Black and went straight back to the bedroom, reluctantly picking up a hairdryer to continue drying her hair so as not to speak with James Black.
Halfway through drying, Jane Sampson suddenly remembered something else. She turned her head toward James Black, who was still standing behind her and staring at her, and said, "Don’t forget to go to the hospital for a reexamination of your left hand this weekend. The doctor had instructed back when you were discharged that you should have it checked regularly."
"Hmm," James Black nodded.
"Today is Thursday, and I should be free from other work this weekend, so I’ll accompany you then," Jane Sampson said. Due to Rock Bell’s high demands, she wasn’t engaged in just any business activities, and since Rock Bell knew that Jane Sampson wasn’t in need of money from business activities, he hardly prepared any for her, making her schedule more relaxed than other artists in the company.
Especially for local business activities in Capital Province, considering Jane Sampson’s status, Rock Bell didn’t even think about it.
"If there’s no work, then stay in the guard team until the weekend and go to the hospital with me for the reexamination," James Black said, his tone was not one of negotiation, nor a question, but rather a direct arrangement for Jane Sampson.
"So..." Jane Sampson blinked her eyes, about to speak, but James Black directly interrupted her.
"Don’t even think about it." After saying this, James Black walked over, touched her hair and, once he confirmed her hair was dry, took the hairdryer from her hand.
With one look, James Black knew what Jane Sampson wanted to say.
In his presence, there were no conditions to negotiate.
He only accepted obedience.
Jane Sampson pursed her lips, "King Black."
Three words, neither light nor heavy, but James Black who was standing next to her could definitely hear them.
She deliberately said it for James Black to hear.
James Black didn’t even give her a look, already used to Jane Sampson trying to tick him off from time to time.
If anyone else dared to call him that to his face, at the very least, it’d be a kick.
Peter Gingery didn’t have even a fraction of Jane Sampson’s courage.
However, James Black would be surprised if there came a day when Jane Sampson agreed with him in everything.
