Chapter 915 - 923 Unappeased

"I just really want to." Jane Sampson murmured in a soft voice, her gaze fixed on the cup of chrysanthemum tea James Black had poured for her, or more precisely, on the blossoming chrysanthemum tea in the cup. She then glanced at the flower in James’s cup and decisively switched their cups.

"Your flower looks prettier," Jane Sampson said quickly, giggling to explain her action when she noticed James looking her way. She then held the teacup with both hands, gently blowing on the chrysanthemum inside.

"It’s just tea; look at how fussy you’re being," Alexander Forest teased Jane Sampson.

Nina Rice and Peter Gingery bumped into each other downstairs and came up together. At that moment, Nina, swinging her purse energetically, breezed into the room and tossed her bag onto a chair. She then ran over to embrace Yvette Quick first, "My dear sister, you finally decided to come back?"

Peter Gingery sat down next to Alexander Forest, turned his head to greet Thomas Lancaster, grabbed the menu for a quick look, and added two more dishes.

The group gathered in the small private room, forming a circle. Alexander counted and said, "We’re just missing Old Watson. He should still be on the airplane right now and will come later. The last time we all got together like this was at James and little Jane’s wedding, wasn’t it?"

"Yes, it’s been some years," Yvette Quick nodded, "The last time I came back was for their wedding. I was in a rush to get back for exams. I left early the next day, and we didn’t get a chance to catch up. Just like that, in a blink of an eye, James and Jane, you’ve been married for so many years."

"When are you two planning on having kids?" Thomas suddenly asked, almost causing Jane to spit out her tea.

"That depends on her," James, however, was quick to respond and even added, "I want a child, but she’s not ready for it yet."

Jane’s ears turned red. Since when was he so eager to have kids?

She had brought it up before, but never saw him express such a strong desire.

"You’re getting older, but little Jane is still young; she’s not in a hurry," Yvette Quick nodded as if she understood Jane’s thoughts. Considering Jane’s career was just taking off, Yvette also felt that Jane probably wouldn’t want a child in the short term.

It would have been different with another occupation, but Jane chose to be an actor, and for artists, life can be greatly restricted.

Although it had been many years since everyone had seen each other, sitting together and talking, there wasn’t a hint of the strangeness usually caused by the passing of time. After the meal, the group moved to a nearby clubhouse to wait for another friend coming from City South.

The clubhouse was owned by a friend of Alexander Forest, so a private room had been reserved early on.

As they planned to drive to the clubhouse later, everyone abstained from drinking during dinner, but once at the clubhouse, Alexander Forest generously ordered two cases of wine and crisply opened a bottle for each person.

When the wine bottle reached James Black, Alexander glanced at James’s arm and thoughtfully handed the wine bottle to Jane instead.

James was a defender, and Alexander knew how important his arm was to him, so without waiting for James to refuse, Alexander didn’t intend to let him drink.

Peter Gingery finally found an opportunity to get close to Jane, nudging her arm. He whispered a question on Jane’s behalf, "Have you got that wolf by your side all tamed?"
