Chapter 963 - 971: It Just Hits the Heart
Whatever Jane Sampson wanted, James Black naturally took her to buy; she wouldn’t want the leftovers picked by Julie Sampson, just to have Julie use that to mock her later.
Her daddy Black took her shopping, and she bought whatever she fancied, spending millions at a time—several millions, even ten million—and he never frowned.
The Valentine’s Day gift her daddy Black gave her were rare treasures pretty close to worth one hundred million.
She had James Black, so she would never lack anything again.
When Coco Edwards came back, she saw a lunchbox on Sister Jane’s tabletop, "Eh, whose lunchbox is this, why is it on our table?"
"Mona Calm, is it yours?" Coco Edwards asked, "Someone brought food for you and you didn’t tell me? I brought your portion of the meal over as well."
Since she was already there to pick it up once, Coco Edwards conveniently brought Mona’s portion too.
"Not mine, where would I get such good fortune to have someone deliver food for me to eat?" Mona Calm shook her head, pointing at Sister Jane, "It was Sister Jane’s mother who had their family driver bring it over."
"Family, huh?" Coco Edwards looked at Jane Sampson with a strange expression, then asked, "Aren’t you going to open it and see?"
Jane Sampson lazily began to open the lunchbox and, not at all surprised, saw that the meals were all Julie’s favorites. At noon, it was usually just Julie and Mother Sampson at home, and Mother Sampson doted on Julie, so the meals were generally catered to Julie’s tastes.
In the evenings, they would cater to Father Sampson’s tastes instead.
"Wow, so many chili peppers, Sister Jane, does your family also love spicy food?" Mona exclaimed in surprise, "It looks really delicious."
Coco Edwards felt like she needed to sympathize with Jane Sampson for a moment; Jane couldn’t eat spicy food, yet here was a meal specially sent by her own mother.
"I can’t handle spicy food, and I remember you’re from the southwest land, so you like chili peppers. If you don’t mind, have this meal," Jane Sampson pushed the lunchbox toward Mona.
"Right, Sister Jane’s throat still isn’t well, you can’t eat spicy food," Mona smiled, "Then I won’t be polite and just accept Sister Joy’s offer."
Jane Sampson smiled and took the film crew’s boxed rice from Coco Edwards’s hand.
At home, Julie Sampson loved eating spicy food the most, and Andrew Chip’s family had ancestral roots in the southwest land. Because of the dietary habits formed during her childhood, Julie craved spicy flavors.
It was quite unfortunate that Jane Sampson had always been in poor health since childhood, and so after Julie returned home, Auntie would always make a separate, bland dish for Jane.
But Jane was a picky eater, having just one dish with rice per meal, which for someone raised in a refined environment was hard to swallow. As a result, she often went to the Black Family’s home to share their meals, and it was there that Auntie finally understood her tastes.
"Tell your family not to send lunches like this anymore. It’s like a jab to the heart," said Coco Edwards as she pushed the green vegetables from her bowl to Jane Sampson, who was too tired from filming all morning to eat much rice, but she could manage some vegetables.
Coco Edwards intended for Jane Sampson to eat more vegetables, at least to stave off hunger.
She was different; she was just an assistant, not needed for filming, and when she got hungry, she could always dig out some snacks to eat.
After lunch was the only time for a bit of rest, and Jane Sampson got her mobile phone back from Coco Edwards and lay there lazily playing with it.
After scrolling through Moments for a while, Jane Sampson went onto twitter and saw that the comments on her post from yesterday about perfume were growing more numerous.
