Chapter 982 - 990: Go Back and Investigate Thoroughly
"Exactly, exactly! You are a delicate flower, and even among delicate flowers, you are the most valiant," James Chip nodded, then regained a serious demeanor and said to Jane Sampson, "Whoever pushed you, I will seriously investigate this matter when we return. Regardless of who it is, I will make that person pack their bags and leave."
"But it might be somewhat difficult." The person from the makeup team who had come with James Chip said, "At that time, everyone was so anxious that they only focused on the murderer. There probably weren’t many people who noticed anyone else, remember? We asked around just now, and everyone said they didn’t pay attention."
Jane Sampson, do you still remember who was behind you at that time?" James Chip asked.
"Everyone was secretly moving back and squeezing further back, and the people behind me kept changing. Moreover, before I was pushed out, I was completely focused on thinking of ways to stall for time and notify the nearby police and security guards about the murderer we encountered here, so I really didn’t notice who pushed me out," Jane Sampson said, grinding her teeth with anger.
"Could it have been Amber Edwards?" James Black asked, "In this crew, she’s had the biggest grudge against you."
The person from the makeup team shook their head, "It shouldn’t have been Miss Edwards; she kept trying to run back to the tent, later on, she was persuaded by a teacher to stay put. But Miss Edwards always kept a distance of almost five or six steps from the rest of the crowd; it looked like she was still contemplating sneaking back."
"Then it probably wasn’t her," James Chip said, "Jane was positioned somewhere in the middle but a little toward the front of the crowd, otherwise she wouldn’t have been pushed out so easily."
One was so far forward, and the other so far back, it’s unlikely anyone could stretch out a hand that long to reach past so many crowded people and push Jane Sampson out.
"Go back and investigate thoroughly," James Black said, and after thinking for a moment, he added, "I would appreciate it if your crew could look after my wife more from now on. If there’s anything the crew needs, feel free to contact her directly."
James Chip’s mind was racing fast. He remembered that Jane Sampson was personally referred by a phone call from the President of Swan Goose Entertainment. Initially, he thought that Jane’s backing was the President of Swan Goose Entertainment.
But now knowing that Jane had gotten married, and her husband was a guard, James Chip speculated that this guard beside him might hold a not-so-low position, possibly a second generation of the Capital Province guard team.
So, was the CEO of Swan Goose Films acting on behalf of Jane’s family or her husband’s family?
"What if it’s an issue with money?" James Chip asked directly.
"If it’s a money issue, then it’s not a problem," James Black said in an indifferent voice, "Is the film crew short on investments?"
"Not at the moment, but that might change soon," James Chip said, "I want to fire Amber Edwards. With her temperament, if I tell her to leave the crew, she will definitely pull her investment. That would leave a gap."
"When you go back, talk directly to the President of Swan Goose Entertainment. I will give instructions," James Black said, "I don’t want to see Amber Edwards in this crew again."
"Believe me, I want that even less than you," James Chip said through clenched teeth. She vanished for so many days, and not only did her acting skills not improve one bit, but her temper seemed to rise continuously.
James Chip had the opportunity to dine with the Vice President of Swan Goose Entertainment that day, and he probed the possibility of additional investments from Swan Goose Entertainment, but the Vice President did not take the bait. Hence James Chip had no choice but to patiently tolerate Amber Edwards a few more days.
