Chapter 100: Cutting Off One's Own Path

Lyu Dali's capable brother-in-law was none other than this Deputy Director Du!

Deputy Director Du saw his brother-in-law had been tortured to death, and what was eerie was that the black mole the size of a soybean on his forehead had actually been dug out by someone! The blood that flowed out followed his wide-open eyes onto his face, mouth, and chin...

Deputy Director Du suddenly felt a churning in his stomach, and a dense layer of cold sweat broke out on his forehead!

"Old Shi!" Deputy Director Du said in a low voice. Old Shi understood and supported him to the side.

"Dali's that..." Deputy Director Du pointed to the forehead and pursed his lips.

"Looking at it, it seems like a revenge killing. Otherwise, one knife could have taken his life, why beat him like that? But why cut off the mole on his forehead? I can't figure this out either!" Old Shi said.

"Black mole, revenge killing..." Deputy Director Du muttered in a low voice, and suddenly he blurted out: "Damn it! I know! It must be those two brothers who did it!"

Old Shi was stunned: "No way? Being so far away, do they dare to run to our territory to kill?"

"This matter can only be investigated by ourselves. Old Shi, you rest for a few days and go out for a trip!"

Old Shi understood the meaning of this superior. He sniffed and said: "Director Du, leave it to me. Oh, prepare the procedures for me, I will set off tomorrow."

Deputy Director Du looked at him with satisfaction, and then a trace of worry appeared on his face: "Sigh! His sister will bother me again when she knows about this!" Then, as if suddenly remembering something, he said to Old Shi: "Hey, about your wife's work matter, I have already greeted Director Hu of the county supply and marketing cooperative. When you come back, go find him to handle the transfer procedures."

Upon hearing this, Old Shi immediately showed an expression of extreme gratitude. Just as he was about to say a few words of thanks, Deputy Director Du added: "Oh my, that Hu Jinsong, he can really drink! For this matter, he drank me under the table that day!"

Old Shi's eyes flickered, and his face immediately piled up with a flattering smile: "Director Du, your kindness is too great! I will definitely handle things well and repay your..." Before he could finish, Deputy Director Du reached out and patted him on the shoulder: "Alright! What is our relationship? Can I not be concerned about your affairs? Alright, I'll go back to the bureau first, you arrange the subsequent matters."

Old Shi nodded repeatedly. After Deputy Director Du walked far away, he looked silently at Lyu Dali, who was lying on his back on the ground, sighed, and called the police officers at the scene to continue investigating the scene...

The next day, Old Shi boarded the bus to Zizhen City in Nanjiang Province.

Of course, the external reason was that he had private matters to handle, and since he was Deputy Director Du's confidant, no one went to ask about this matter.

Yesterday, the two of them discovered that the mole on Lyu Dali's forehead had been cut off by the murderer, and they had already guessed that this was likely a provocation from the other side!

When they interrogated the Chang brothers, both mentioned that Chang Huasheng, who was stabbed, had mentioned the appearance of the person who stabbed him before he died, as well as the black mole the size of a soybean on that person's forehead!

It was precisely this description that made Old Shi vigilant! The description of the murderer by these two brothers reminded him of one person—Lyu Dali!

So he told Deputy Director Du about this matter overnight, and Deputy Director Du found his brother-in-law for the first time. Upon asking, the two were shocked!

What the Chang brothers said was true. Lyu Dali had actually instigated the villagers to rob the road! And he had personally stabbed someone! Of course, at this time, he didn't know that the person he stabbed had already died, thinking that the other party didn't know who they were anyway, and in this place, could he be afraid of a few outsiders?

So when his brother-in-law, Deputy Director Du, asked him, he told him everything without hiding anything.

When the two heard this, they knew things had gone bad. Deputy Director Du didn't think about righteousness over family to arrest this brother-in-law, but how to shield him! Old Shi had always been regarded as his confidant, and now there were big things he was counting on him to help with.

The few of them put their heads together and came up with a "brilliant" method.

That was why they staged a scene of destroying evidence, confusing right and wrong, and counter-attacking! After successfully bluffing the Chang brothers into signing a false transcript, they cremated Chang Huasheng's corpse. In this way, all evidence disappeared, and they felt they could sleep soundly!

What they didn't expect was that only three months later, Lyu Dali was tortured to death near his own village!

Old Shi calculated in his heart and found that the day Lyu Dali was killed was exactly 100 days since the Chang brothers came to the Gongan Bureau to report the case in the middle of the night!

Whoa! This was coming for revenge! Both of them had guilty consciences and didn't dare to bring this suspicion to the table! — It couldn't be explained clearly!

And the two were even more worried that since the other party had found Lyu Dali, according to the scene and the injuries on Lyu Dali's body, the drainage ditch near the village was not the first crime scene, which meant that Lyu Dali had been controlled by the other party for a period of time and had been severely beaten! Then, during this period, did he say everything?

Thinking of this, the two couldn't help but feel a chill!

They must go and investigate clearly. If it was done by the Chang brothers, then they might also have the possibility of being retaliated against! Even if the other party was afraid of their status and didn't dare to deal with them like they dealt with Lyu Dali, this feeling of being targeted by thieves was like a sword hanging over their heads. If it wasn't resolved, it would always make people uneasy!

Old Shi's mission was to resolve all of this!

A road of no return, so it was for the Chang brothers! And so it was for Old Shi and the others!

———

The Chang brothers went as three, and returned as three, only one of them had turned into a handful of ashes!

Chang Huaqiang and Seeing Chang Huazhong knelt before their father, Chang Rongda. The old man had a deathly gray face, sitting blankly in the hall, and a mourning hall had been set up outside the newly built house door...

After finishing the funeral for the second brother Chang Huasheng, the Chang family was like before. The eldest, Chang Huaqiang, took the third, Seeing Chang Huazhong, and continued to drive that 130 truck back and forth between Nanyue and Nanjiang Province...

Old Shi stayed in a dilapidated hotel, silently recording the situation of the Chang brothers he had inquired about these days. It seemed that the two brothers were still running that route daily. In that case, it wouldn't be difficult for them to stay in Huaxian for a few days each time. It seemed highly likely that Lyu Dali's death was their doing!

But how to find the evidence that it was the two of them who committed the murder? Old Shi was a bit at a loss for a moment. Suddenly, Old Shi laughed at himself: "Sigh! Why did I fall into the thinking of handling a case?"

He laughed at himself, and his eyes gradually became vicious...

The village where the Chang family lived was closest to Zizhen City, and now it could be considered on the edge of the city. But in that era, there was only one two-lane road leading to the city. If people wanted to go to the city, they had to walk to the passenger station in the town to take a bus, so it was not an easy thing for villagers to go to the city.

This gave rise to some peddlers who carried goods to the village to sell. ===== CHAPTER 101 =====
