Chapter 125: Unsolved Mystery

And when asked who the intermediary was, Guo Shuqing kept silent! Was he hiding something or protecting someone?

When tracking the account he used to pay the other party's remuneration, it was discovered that the money eventually flowed into an enterprise registered in a country in Southeast Asia!

This matter was very sensitive! When the special investigation team interrogated Guo Shuqing again, a huge accident occurred!

Because of You Xinfa's example, the special investigation team had already conducted strict and detailed inspections on Guo Shuqing when taking him away, including teeth and hair, to avoid the possibility of him hiding poison. However, when the special investigation team learned that the killer he bought was an overseas organization, Guo Shuqing showed great emotional fluctuations!

And his reaction gave people the feeling that he had completely lost his will to live. Sure enough, from then on, he didn't open his mouth again. Not only did he not speak, but more troublesome was that he didn't eat any food!

There was no other way, the special investigation team had to give him intravenous injections of nutrient solution to maintain his life.

Guo Shuqing's purpose of protecting someone was already very obvious, but how to break his psychological defense line had stumped the special investigation team!

After all, their opponent was an old policeman with more than 30 years of work experience, and he had been working his way up from a front-line criminal policeman! He was familiar with various interrogation methods and had extremely strong anti-interrogation capabilities. Therefore, they encountered obstacles with Guo Shuqing for the time being.

In response to this situation, the special investigation team increased the investigation efforts on the killer who poisoned in the clinic. Catching this person would provide a breakthrough!

The specific execution of this work was led by Lu Haoxuan, and Hu Jinquan, who had been handling this case, was naturally included, and Gu Changzheng, who had been restored to his original position, also joined in.

An investigation team targeting the You case was established!

Several people repeatedly watched the surveillance of that day and carpet-searched the surveillance on all roads leading to the clinic, but the result was the same as before. Except for the side-face photo taken by the clinic camera when the killer entered the door, it was impossible to confirm when he went out!

As for Dr. Liu's phone call, it was found at the time that the other party used an ID card picked up to handle the number. What could be determined at present was that the killer had at least one accomplice, but there were no other clues.

Just when the investigation was in a predicament, Gu Changzheng raised a question: the killer captured in the clinic video only appeared once, and when counting the number of people going out, everyone only checked the quantity, but didn't consider a problem, which was the gender of the number of people going out!

This reminded everyone. Following this line of thought, everyone combed through the video again. Sure enough, the number of people entering and leaving that day not only changed in the number of medical staff and patients, but the number of men and women was also different!

Clearly! The killer was a master of disguise. Under surveillance, he changed several identities! Finally, he left the clinic as a young woman.

Following this line, the special investigation team checked the identities of all personnel and finally found an unidentified person—who entered the clinic one after another with You Xinfa, and later left the clinic in the image of a young woman.

With this discovery, the special investigation team bit this person hard, checked the surveillance of several roads that could reach the clinic, and finally found a clue! The killer disguised as a woman was captured by a camera at the intersection of Xiangyang Road and Sifang Street where the clinic was located, taking a taxi in the direction of Sifang Street.

Soon, that taxi was found. After questioning, the driver recalled that the person directly asked him to drive the car to the vicinity of the national highway leading to the neighboring province from Zizhen.

The special investigation team hurriedly checked the surveillance according to the location provided by the driver, but found that that place was again a blind spot without surveillance! It seemed that this killer was very familiar with the road situation in Zizhen. The places where he got on and off the car could always avoid surveillance.

This couldn't help but make everyone suspect that his accomplice must be a local or someone who could easily grasp the surveillance information of these roads! It was just that Guo Shuqing was completely "lying flat" now. The special investigation team had to use more resources to investigate all vehicles passing through the killer's drop-off point during that period.

However, this workload was too large, and there were too many uncertain factors during the period that would affect judgment. After determining all the large and small vehicles passing through that period, the special investigation team contacted and verified the identities of the car owners one by one, excluded the suspicion after questioning, and finally only one small truck with a Nanyue license plate could not be contacted.

Clearly, this car had major suspicion. But with the assistance of the Nanyue police, it was discovered that this license plate did not match the vehicle registered by the vehicle management department. In other words, this was a fake license plate car! After the vehicle left Zizhen, it was not seen in Nanyue. This fake license plate car also vanished into thin air! Now, the clue was broken again!

Lu Haoxuan, together with Gu Changzheng and Hu Jinquan, rushed to Nanyue to investigate the whereabouts of the disappeared vehicle after asking the special investigation team and city leaders. At this time, Guo Shuqing died due to multiple organ failure induced by underlying diseases during his hunger strike while in custody! After clarifying that his cause of death was suicide out of fear of crime, the organization made a decision to expel him from the party and confiscate his bribes and other illegal income, but did not prosecute him.

And because the Chang brothers case involved many officials, public security organs, procuratorates, and other departments expanded personnel on the basis of the original Deputy Director Huo task force to form a special class to handle the case. The pursuit of the mysterious killer was temporarily put aside...

It was just that no one expected that this case would drag on! And this drag was ten years!

———

Time returned to 2010. Gu Changzheng, who had just solved the Ren Jia and Liu Baoshan cases, had eaten at the home of his retired master Lu Haoxuan. Under the special instructions of his master's wife Wei Jie, Gu Changzheng proposed to send Tao Jingyi home.

In fact, Gu Changzheng didn't seem to have much experience in terms of feelings, but with his unique sensitivity, he felt that this quiet Teacher Tao was not disgusted with him, but the hurdle in his heart had always been unable to pass. He didn't want the tragedy that happened to Fang Jie to continue to other women who had emotional connections with him!

He even risked violating discipline to go to the temple to draw a lot to seek psychological comfort in this way. Little did he know that the experience of drawing a lot that time made his heart disease even heavier! It seemed that being alone and lonely for the rest of his life was the best arrangement!

And today, sending Tao Jingyi, he wanted to take this opportunity to scare away this gentle and kind woman, to stay away from him, this ominous person! Although the two didn't say a word along the way, their hearts were not calm.

Tao Jingyi had long heard Wei Jie mention this crime-solving expert in the police world. She was a person who didn't like to talk much, but she was a warm and upright woman in her heart. This was also why she agreed to Wei Jie's arrangement to participate in this blind date activity.

Just as the two were brewing and preparing to speak, Gu Changzheng suddenly said "Yi," and then his eyes stared straight ahead and didn't move! ===== CHAPTER 126 =====
