Chapter 467: Not a Disciple of Our Sect—Is This a Trap? (Please Subscribe and Support)

"Elder, what's wrong? Is something amiss?"

Seeing this, Lin Bai hurriedly spoke up.

"This disciple looks unfamiliar to me; I don't recall seeing him within the Zong Sect."

The Elder shook his head.

"You all wait here a moment; I'll go fetch someone."

Since the Elder truly could not recall whether such a figure existed among the outer disciples, he stood up, intending to leave first.

"This is Xiao Jiu, who handles outer disciple registration; he is your senior brother and can take a look."

Shortly after, the Elder returned with a middle-aged man.

He briefly introduced him to Lin Bai and the others.

"Greetings, Senior Brother."

Lin Bai and the others stood up and nodded.

"Xiao Jiu, take a look at this disciple; do you have any impression of him?"

"Why can't I recall anyone like this in our outer sect?"

"Could there be new arrivals recently?"

After a brief introduction, the Elder hurriedly handed over the portrait Lin Bai had given him to the other man.

Once Xiao Jiu took the portrait, he furrowed his brow.

"This is not one of our Zong Sect's."

Xiao Jiu shook his head, looking at the unfamiliar face on the portrait.

"Senior Brother, are you sure? Shall we take another careful look?"

Lin Bai raised an eyebrow; after all, Old Li had said this was someone delivering a mission from the upper sect.

033 "No need to look again; I am certain this person is definitely not an outer disciple of our Wu Shi Land, and moreover, I have never seen this person before."

Xiao Jiu shook his head, repeating the same words, and he was also very certain that this person was not from the Zong Sect.

"Lin Bai, Xiao Jiu has the best memory; once he sees someone, he never forgets. If he says no, then it is definitely no."

The Elder had great confidence in Xiao Jiu's judgment.

"Elder, have you sent any outer disciples to deliver mission tokens to the Zong Sect in the past two days?"

Seeing this, Lin Bai shifted direction; since this line of inquiry yielded nothing, he would try another angle.

"Yes, but absolutely not this mission. If it were such a mission, we would have screened him out immediately and certainly not handed him over to your disciples; instead, we would have given it to the Sect Master and the others."

The Elder nodded.

"So that's how it is. Then it seems someone is impersonating a disciple of our Wu Shi Land to deliver this mission token."

"But the token should be something from our Zanmenzong Sect; how did the other party obtain it?"

"And what about the disciple's attire; where did the other party get that?"

Lin Bai posed the questions, his face full of confusion regarding the matter.

He feared the situation was not as simple as it seemed.

"What is happening outside?"

The Elder and the others were suddenly drawn by a sound from outside, looking at the door in confusion.

"When I just arrived, they said someone seemed to have lost something; I suppose they haven't found it yet."

Hearing that sound, Xiao Jiu spoke calmly.

Upon hearing this, Lin Bai naturally formed some thoughts in his mind.

However, he was not certain his guess was correct, so he decided to go and see for himself.

"Elder Zhang, may we go take a look?"

Lin Bai fixed his gaze on the Elder, seeking his approval.

"Senior Brother, why have you become so gossipy?"

Wang Yuping looked at Lin Bai, surprised that his own senior brother had such a hobby.

Someone lost something, yet he still wanted to go watch the commotion.

"Very well, let us all go over and take a look."
