Chapter 368: If Greed for the Seven Emotions and Six Deserves Death, How Many People Would Be Left in This World

"Spare my life!"

"I may be a demon, but the ones I've killed were all people with twisted hearts!"

High in the sky, the locust tree's voice rang out like a cracked gong, recounting its own standards of conduct.

"Oh? And how exactly were their hearts twisted?" Zhang Taixuan asked with an indifferent expression. "So twisted that even a monster like you couldn't stand watching?"

"They were greedy for wealth, greedy for lust, greedy for an easy life…"

"I had the female ghost take the form of a beautiful woman. They couldn't resist the temptation and fell for it — shouldn't they have died?"

"He had the female ghost hand them gold and silver. They couldn't resist the temptation — shouldn't they have been killed?"

"Every one of those people had impure thoughts, every one of them deserved to die. Immortal, I was acting on Heaven's behalf!"

Yan Chixia's expression grew complicated, because he felt the tree demon's words actually weren't wrong.

Even Nie Xiaoqian felt a flicker of agreement stirring in her heart.

Those people really didn't seem to be good people!

"Audacious fiend, how dare you bewitch the crowd with your demonic words before me!"

Just at that moment, a cold snort rang out — it was Zhang Taixuan. "If being greedy for wealth, lust, and an easy life is grounds for death, then how many people would be left in this world?"

If there's a large sum of money to be had, and it's not illegal, how many could resist?

If a beautiful woman shows affection and it's mutual, how many could play the part of Liu Xia-hui?

Craving an easy life is even more perfectly normal.

Who hasn't slacked off at work? Isn't that just craving comfort and hating labor?

Not to mention ancient times — even in the modern day, where people are well-fed and well-clothed and have a stronger sense of morality, faced with such things, how many could hold out?

A beautiful woman (or handsome man) comes on to you, you agree — click, your life is gone — "You're a lecher!"

A merchant pushes a sale on you, saying there's a discount — you go — click, your life is gone — "You're greedy for money!"

You give up a low-paying job to chase a high salary — click, your life is gone — "Your heart burns too fiercely for fame and fortune!"

You believe some liar's nonsense and try to turn a small stake into a big one — click — that's also greed for money!

Thinking this far, Zhang Taixuan felt he could die laughing.
