Chapter 387: Selling Sister, Xiao Qing
After seeing off Nie Xiaoqian and her group, Kikyo arrived with Kaede.
"Wow, Divine Lord."
Kaede let out a joyful cry, unbothered by propriety, and launched herself straight onto Zhang Taixuan, making Feng cover his face in exasperation.
He muttered inwardly: "That fox spirit!"
Kikyo's cheeks flushed red as well.
Kaede's figure and face were just like hers.
"Kaede, speak properly, don't be rude!" Kikyo sniffed, offering a gentle reminder.
Kaede finally stood up shyly and said, "Divine Lord, could I have a treasure that lets me travel freely to Kikyo's side?"
"I haven't seen Kusata and the others in a long time. But Kikyo's side is so fun too—I can even see the Divine Lord!"
"Don't worry, I'll earn plenty of points and pay you back slowly."
"Of course you can," Zhang Taixuan smiled. "Kikyo, did you bring the Shikon no Tama?"
Kikyo blinked in surprise: "You want the Shikon no Tama?"
"You don't have to," Zhang Taixuan smiled. "But keeping it on you all this time must've been a nuisance."
"Not a nuisance," Feng snorted. "Don't give it to that fox spirit!"
"Ah, sister, you…"
Kikyo pinched Feng's cheek and said, "The Dao Jun is right."
With that, she handed over the Shikon no Tama.
The Shikon no Tama once had some allure for demons, but now that her power had grown, she no longer needed it.
It was better to dispose of this menace before it caused a major disaster.
"This is the Shikon no Tama?" Kaede leaned in. "Kikyo, you never let me touch it before—you're so stingy!"
Feng was speechless: "Is that stingy? You're like a little troublemaker—who knows if you'd smash it!"
"I wouldn't!" Kaede pouted. "I'm a gentle, beautiful maiden of Yamato—how could I ever do something like that?"
As she spoke, Zhang Taixuan's hand gripping the Shikon no Tama began to glow, and within the light, a figure gradually materialized.
It was a beautiful shrine maiden.
"Mizuko?!" Kikyo gasped. "Miss Mizuko, you've been revived?"
Mizuko turned, looking dazed: "Wasn't I fighting demons just now?"
Kaede leaned closer: "There's a person inside the Shikon no Tama?"
"Just a soul," Zhang Taixuan smiled. "I used the Shikon no Tama to revive it. Part of her soul still remains in her own world—she'll have to retrieve it herself later!"
Having mastered the Yin-Yang Dao, Zhang Taixuan could naturally restore her soul completely—but there was no need. A solution existed, and this gave her something to do.
As he spoke, the Shikon no Tama in his hand gradually shrank until it became the size of a dragon's eye, its surface etched with seven star-like marks, resembling a Long Zhu.
"This thing lets you travel seven times a day between the modern era and the Sengoku period—consider it a little toy," Zhang Taixuan smiled. "As for points, forget it—I already collected them."
"Collected them?" Kaede froze, then suddenly remembered how she'd thrown herself into his arms moments ago—her face flushed crimson.
Though she was lively and close to Zhang Taixuan,
this was still her first time doing something like this, and she couldn't help feeling shy.
"Fox spirit," Feng glared at Kaede, then turned to Kikyo with a look of utter disappointment.
Someone's already broken into your home, sister—what are you just standing there for?!
As if sensing Feng's gaze, Kikyo turned back, ending her conversation with Mizuko.
"Dao Jun, we'll be leaving now—until next time!"
Feng quickly spoke up: "Sister, you said you had something to discuss with Dao Jun Brother—how could you forget?! Kaede, let's go first—let Sister talk with Dao Jun Brother."
"Ah…" Kaede reluctantly followed Feng out of the room, reluctant to leave.
Mizuko was the same—led away without resistance.
"I had something to discuss with the Dao Jun?" Kikyo was stunned.
When had she ever said that?!
That little rascal Feng had taken matters into her own hands.
Looking toward Feng's retreating figure, she saw the girl making exaggerated winks and gestures—Kikyo's pale, jade-like cheeks blushed bright red.
She understood her sister's meaning all too well.
She did have feelings for the Dao Jun—but there was no need to rush like this!
She wasn't ready yet!
Feng departed triumphantly, thinking inwardly: "Sister's just too lazy. If I left it to her to make the first move, she'd wait forever. This is exactly when Zhuge Xiaofeng steps in—plan executed!"
Kaede finally realized: "Wait, Feng—you just sold off your sister?!"
"Sold her?" Feng snorted. "I'm helping! Come on, you're not thinking of going back, are you? With me here, you won't ruin Sister's chances!"
Kaede's face flushed.
She really did want to go back.
"Ah… little sister, isn't the Dao Jun right ahead?"
At that moment, a sultry voice rang out—Kaede broke out in goosebumps.
She turned to see a voluptuous woman in green robes, swaying gracefully toward them.
"Xiao Qing!" Kikyo exclaimed. "Where's your sister?"
"Sister? She's occupied for now," Xiao Qing smiled. "I have something to discuss with the Dao Jun—I'll go ahead."
With that, she stepped lightly away, vanishing in an instant.
Feng finally snapped to: "Oh no—will this woman ruin Sister's chances?!"
Ge Wei: "How would I know?! That woman clearly isn't someone to be trifled with—shouldn't we go back and check? To show some support for Jieqing?"
"This…" Feng hesitated, then pulled Cuizi and Jieqing back the way they came.
Cuizi hadn't yet recovered from the earlier shock; seeing Feng pull her, she followed behind.
But when they returned, the door was already shut, and not a sound could be heard from outside.
Feng pressed her ear to the door crack; after a moment, she stood up, disappointed: "I can't see anything… I don't know if Sister succeeded?"
Ge Wei laughed: "Who'd have thought, Feng—you actually like eavesdropping!"
"That's not true!" Feng retorted. "I'm just worried about Sister."
Feng didn't see her sister again until three days had passed in Dalu Tian.
After three days apart, her sister's demeanor had grown even more gentle, her eyes even more luminous—every frown and smile seemed to steal the soul.
"Feng, we need to settle accounts for what happened earlier!" Jieqing's smile vanished. "How dare you make decisions for me? You've gotten quite bold."
