Chapter 353: The Abyss Without Bloodshed

~6 min read 1,060 words

The Demon Realm is simply too vast—either towering mountain ranges that blot out the sky, or barren plains devoid of any life.

Even if you ran at Mach speed without stopping, you wouldn’t reach any of the Three Great Powers’ territories in less than several dozen days.

Demons and monsters are far more numerous than expected—various creatures straight out of mythic legends of low- and mid-tier demons endlessly emerge, along with bloodthirsty beings that seem to have crawled from neighboring abysses; though lacking reason, they are born with formidable strength and bodies.

The sky is perpetually dark, black-gray demonic mists churning ceaselessly, thousands of volcanoes spewing lava, raining down countless ashes while bringing scorching heat and dry, searing winds.

“Roar—”

Massive streams of lava and glowing rocks were violently thrust aside; a tremor stronger than an earthquake surged from beneath their feet, turning the earth instantly into a hellfire. The native colossal insects of the Demon Realm, grotesque and terrifying, unleashed a horrifying breath toward the visitors from the Human Realm.

“Heh… interesting…”

Hearing the earth-shaking roar from the unknown creature below, Esdeath smiled coldly.

She could sense the terrifying power rapidly growing beneath her—far surpassing the Special-Class Dangerous Species in her world—though she didn’t know if it had reached Super-Class Dangerous Species level…

Yet such attacks occurred every few hours.

Perhaps it had been too long since they’d tasted human flesh or seen living humans—or perhaps the Demon Realm itself rejected them. Though they faced little attack while traveling at supersonic speed, the moment they stopped to rest, the surrounding demons went mad and swarmed them; they had crushed at least three thousand demonic creatures of varying strengths.

“Die.”

With a quiet declaration, as the blue-haired beauty’s hand gently descended, a spherical ice mass hundreds of meters in diameter, carrying enough force to shatter the earth, plummeted downward with a storm-like roar.

“Boom!!!!!!!!!!”

In an instant, the ice sphere collided with the roaring beast; a deafening shockwave shook heaven and earth, making the sky tremble.

The clouds above shattered into fragments under the impact, and the crushing pressure caused the endless chain of volcanoes on the ground to crack and collapse.

The next moment, the attacking beast let out a pitiful shriek, shuddered violently, and its body—easily over a hundred meters long—began flattening from the point of contact into a thin disc. Scalding blood sprayed into the air, and upon contact with the ice sphere radiating extreme cold, it instantly hissed into thick white vapor, blanketing the sky.

Countless mountains, rivers, and vegetation were instantly pulverized beneath the unstoppable falling ice sphere; the earth sank deeply, the world laid waste—pure force colliding, ultimate violence unleashed.

“Ugh, Xiao Ai, you’ve made a mess again…”

Jia Ji stared at the bloody pulp before him and sighed.

Only in the Demon Realm could such creatures thrive; only here could they unleash their full power without restraint.

If this were a training ground, it would be perfect—but to ordinary humans, it was no different from a hellish abyss.

The only ordinary human, Sang Yuan, had returned to the Human Realm. Cang Ma still retained his human identity and had no urgent reason to come to the Demon Realm, so he returned with Sang Yuan.

Xue Cai and Fei Ying were native to the Demon Realm, born and raised here, so they naturally didn’t attract the demons’ frenzied attacks. Moreover, neither was weak, so their safety was assured—they were now on their way home.

Hu Yuli Di, realizing he was still not strong enough, resumed his training and headed alone toward the Land of the Yellow Springs.

As for Xian Shui Ren, after Jia Ji fed him a healing pill for his severe injuries, he was left to fend for himself. He had no ability to open a portal between realms, and his partner Shu could never find him in the boundless Demon Realm.

As a human, Xian Shui Ren had only two possible fates: either carve a bloody path through the endless bloodthirsty demons, or die at the hands of the very demons he sought to atone for.

How he chose to proceed was now his own affair—no longer anyone else’s concern.

“Youyou, let’s go.”

After a brief rest, they prepared to head north again.

“I’m hungry—I can’t walk.”

Pu Fei Youyou sat motionless on the ground.

The boy, still in his Demon Form, had initially planned to brutally beat up Jia Ji with his newfound power, but after feeling the lingering phantom pain on his stomach, he gave up.

Moreover, in outcome, they had achieved their goal—helping Fei Ying and Xue Cai return to the Demon Realm.

But the process was… hard to describe.

“Fine. Go get us something to eat.”

Jia Ji glanced at Youyou, knowing the brat was deliberately dragging his feet.

Youyou’s mind must be complicated—he’d lived fourteen years as a human, died twice, and now became a demon, and soon he’d meet his so-called father. Who wouldn’t be shaken?

If not for Jia Ji forcing him along, Youyou would’ve fled back to the Human Realm and pretended he’d never heard of Lei Chan—and now he was doing everything to delay.

Still a boy at heart, Youyou cheered upon receiving permission, instantly took flight, and became a streaking black meteor, scouring dozens of miles for prey.

Now, he was truly like a tiger among sheep—almost instantly, he slaughtered the vast majority of demons; even dozens of A-Class demons fell before him in a single sweep.

“Wait, what even are these things you brought back? Are you seriously going to eat these?”

Jia Ji frowned at the prey Youyou returned—a pile of loot resembling a mountain, bizarre beyond measure.

Cactus elephants, three-legged sharks, banana monkeys, watermelon giraffes, avocado gorillas, muscular oranges… they looked like they’d crawled straight out of the Shanhaijing. If demons in the Demon Realm ate these regularly, no wonder they went mad.

“What’s wrong with eating them?”

Esdeath pulled out seasonings from somewhere—Jia Ji, with ninja-level dynamic vision, spotted them apparently tucked against her chest…

“You’ve truly grown.”

“What did you say?” Esdeath asked, puzzled.

“Nothing.”

Jia Ji replied without blinking, “I was just remembering what happened the first time I met you. So much time has passed…”

“Just eat!”

Esdeath hurled a cactus elephant weighing dozens of tons at him with one hand.
