Chapter 39: Noah Academy

Kaiqi leads the team to the sub‑arena of the Grand Soul Battle arena, opposite them stands the Noah Academy Team.

After morning deliberations, the selected participants are You He, Tie Li and two companions, the Lin Wenlin brothers, and Baijiao.

This time the draw resulted in a seven‑versus‑seven Team Soul Battle.

"This is a Team Soul Battle, which is an opportunity for us," Kaiqi said.

In a seven‑person Team Soul Battle, the advantage of individual Soul Masters is diminished, placing more emphasis on team coordination.

At the referee's signal, both teams stepped onto the Soul Battle Platform.

When the audience learned it was a seven‑versus‑seven Team Soul Battle, their enthusiasm erupted intensely.

Both sides observed each other; the Yan Team's seven members had intel on the opponents, and upon seeing the seven arrivals, they roughly understood the situation.

Three Soul Elders, four Great Soul Masters.

The most important figure to watch is their Team Leader, who is also one of the Soul Elders.

Zhang Bing, a level‑34 Control-type Soul Elder, martial soul: Ice Spider.

Li Qing'er, a level‑31 Strong Attack-type Soul Elder, martial soul: Nether Wolf.

Zhang Qing, a level‑32 Strong Attack-type Soul Elder, martial soul: Da Li Ape.

In everyone's mind, the data of the three Soul Elders flashed simultaneously.

The other four Great Soul Masters consist of two Defense-type, one Support-type, and one Strong Attack-type.

"Noah Team, Team Leader, Zhang Bing, level‑34 Control-type Soul Elder, pleased to meet you," Zhang Bing said, a hint of arrogance in his eyes as he looked at the only Soul Elder in the opposing team, You He.

"Yan Team, Team Leader, Duolangbu, level‑30 Control-type Great Soul Master." Duolangbu showed no emotion despite being ignored.

Zhang Bing was taken aback, not expecting the opposing Team Leader to be someone other than the Three Ring Soul Honorable.

Duolangbu's Soul Power Level is not lacking, only missing the third Soul Ring.

"Both sides ready, Soul Battle begins!"

Martial souls manifest, artifact souls are summoned, and the brilliant hues of the Soul Rings instantly envelop the entire Soul Battle Platform.

Among the opponent's three Soul Elders, only Zhang Bing has the optimal configuration of two Yellow and one Purple Soul Rings; the other two have rather ordinary Soul Ring setups.

Li Qing'er, whose martial soul is Nether Wolf, has a three‑Yellow configuration, while Zhang Qing has a White‑Yellow‑Purple mix; in Soul Ring configuration, Zhang Qing surpasses Li Qing'er.

Both sides' Control-type Soul Masters act first; Zhang Bing's martial soul is Ice Spider, attempting to control the field with webs and ice.

His First and Second Soul Rings ignite, and a massive snow‑mist erupts on the platform, reaching only up to the spectators' knees.

"Sss"

Tie Li and Baijiao, as Strong Attack-type Soul Masters, positioned at the front of the team, suddenly feel a pulling force beneath their feet.

Two strands of web, at an unknown moment, bound their feet, trying to drag them out of the formation.

Li Qing'er and Zhang Qing, supporting Zhang Bing, immediately unleash soul skills; two yellow beams fall behind them, the Support-type Soul Master having added an Amplification Soul Technique.

The webs are fairly resilient; Tie Li cannot break free at first, but the opposing pull is weak—any slight effort prevents it from moving him.

Baijiao lags a step, being pulled five or six meters away from the team.

Caixin's Amplification Soul Technique lands on them; Tie Li pushes hard and can forcibly tear it apart.

Li Qing'er attacks Baijiao first; having left the formation, Baijiao becomes the prime target.

Li Qing'er's First and Third Soul Rings flare, and like a starving wolf they pounce on Baijiao.

Baijiao instantly releases his First and Second Soul Techniques, attempting to resist Li Qing'er's assault.

Duolangbu's vine trap lags a beat, but Baijiao holds off Li Qing'er's first onslaught, the vine wrapping around his waist and pulling him back.

He acts to avoid being eliminated by Li Qing'er and Zhang Qing's combined assault.

You He has already appeared from the opposite side; she intends to use her personal ability to eliminate the most troublesome Control-type Soul Master.

Zhang Bing's snow‑mist appears to obstruct vision and hide the webs, but it gradually reduces Tie Li's side's speed and perception.

It acts like a slow‑acting toxin, poisoning you without you noticing.

You He's martial soul is rather unique; its keen perception allows her to detect something amiss instantly.

"Is that how you plan to eliminate me?" Zhang Bing grinned.

Two Defense-type Soul Masters stand before him, both with two‑Yellow Soul Ring configurations.

Both of their martial souls are shields; although the souls differ, their soul skills have similar effects.

One activates the First Soul Ring, the other the Second, simultaneously; You He's speed drops, becoming sluggish.

"Careful, she's about to release the Third Soul Technique."

The Thousand-Year Soul Ring on You He ignites, its violet glow turning their faces pale; the Thousand-Year Soul Technique's power far exceeds that of a Hundred-Year Soul Technique.

"Whoosh"

You He instantly breaks free from the sluggish state; a ghost‑purple sheen circulates over her body, shedding the negative effect and fully amplifying speed, attack, and burst.

The two Defense-type Soul Masters release soul skills again, but the sluggish effect can no longer affect You He.

They immediately cast another soul skill, positioning themselves before Zhang Bing to block You He's assault.

What they didn't expect is that You He, at an unknown moment, slipped past their shield defenses and appeared on the other side.

Thus Zhang Bing is completely exposed before You He.

"Do you think I wouldn't have guessed?" Zhang Bing's gaze shows no panic as his Thousand-Year Soul Ring lights up.

The ground snow‑mist suddenly turns into a spiderweb; You He is already caught within, her feet stuck.

The web snaps shut, trapping You He inside.

The remaining members of the Noah Team see this and can't help but smile; even the sole Three Ring Soul Honorable is trapped by the Team Leader, leaving the other Great Soul Masters unthreatened.

"Bang"

The sound of bones cracking and lightning strikes accompanies the elimination of a Second Ring Great Soul Master.

A Strong Attack-type Great Soul Master from the Noah Team attempts a sneak attack on Tie Li, but Tie Li counters, using the Second Soul Technique's Shock Repel effect to hammer his chest armor, directly causing his elimination.

"You..."

Zhang Qing, seeing this scene, became furious; under the martial soul possession his size reached three meters, and the colliding physique was extremely terrifying, but it also made him prone to anger.

He suddenly leapt up, his two fists smashing toward Tie Li like a pair of round hammers.

Tie Li's complexion did not change much, and as Zhang Qing's fists were about to strike Tie Li's body, two coarse vines coiled around his form.

The vines twisted, each climbing up an arm, controlling the arms that were about to strike.

They halted a foot in front of Tie Li.

Meanwhile, Tie Li's First Soul Ring and Second Soul Ring had, at some unknown time, already lit up.

In the state of the First Soul Technique, the Second Soul Technique is a pure single-target attack, and its damage is extremely formidable.

Second Soul Technique, Thunder Strike!

Intense Lightning Light roiled on Tie Li's right arm, and this terrifying momentum made Zhang Qing's fury vanish completely.
