Chapter 96

Ash: "How could that be?!"

【Ash returned to the ship with the ancient trophy.】

【Looking at the trophy in Ash's hand, Misty and Brock asked curiously: "What is this?"】

..... 0 0

【"The reward for victory," Ash answered with a smile.】

【"By the way, Ash, did you meet any Ghost-type Pokémon on the ship?" Misty continued to ask.】

【Ash nodded, "But I didn't capture them."】

【"Why didn't you capture them?" Misty was a bit confused. Wasn't Ash's main purpose for boarding the ship to capture Ghost-type Pokémon?】

【This time Ash didn't answer.】

【It was time to set off.】

【After saying goodbye to Gastly and Haunter, Ash and the others arrived at a mysterious small island. Because they noticed that all the islanders on this island were acting weird, Ash and the others didn't dare to stay on the island for long and left immediately after replenishing their fresh water.】

【"The next one is Murcott Island," Brock said excitedly, pointing to the small island in the distance, "I heard that Murcott Island is a sanctuary for insect lovers, and all kinds of Bug-type Pokémon live on the island."】

【"Bug-type Pokémon?" After hearing the word 'bug', Misty's legs almost went weak.】

【"Can we not go to the island?" Misty negotiated.】

【"No!"】

【Ash and Brock answered in unison.】

【What a great opportunity; they might be able to see rare Bug-type Pokémon on the island. How could they miss such an opportunity?】

Misty: "Hmph, all the good men in this world are dead. Is there no one who knows how to cherish the fairer sex?"

Bugsy: "Miss Misty, I am the good man who knows how to cherish the fairer sex that you speak of, it's just a pity you rejected me."】

Gary: "No one will like a boy as greasy as you. Go back and reflect on yourself."】

【Ash and Brock insisted on going to the island, and Misty had no choice but to follow them on the journey.】

【Brock's information was quite accurate this time. Murcott Island is indeed a sanctuary for Bug-type enthusiasts. Not long after Ash and the others arrived on the island, they saw a large number of Bug-type Pokémon.】

【What surprised Ash even more was that they also saw the relatively rare Bug-type Pokémon, Pinsir.】

【It's just a pity that the Pinsir they encountered was too old and had no value for training; otherwise, Ash would definitely have captured it.】

【"Why does Ash like Bug-type Pokémon? These guys aren't cute at all," Misty complained while holding onto Ash's shoulder tightly.】

【As soon as they arrived on the island, Misty grabbed Ash's arm on the grounds of being afraid of Bug-type Pokémon. At first, she just grabbed it with her hand, but now, she was basically hanging on Ash's arm.】

Ayame: "Hmph hmph hmph, I didn't expect the Misty in the parallel world to be quite scheming. Using the excuse of being afraid of insects, she's actually touching Dark Ash; she's really too scheming."】

Violet: "Misty, I don't remember teaching you this trick. You've learned to be bad."】

Daisy: "Stupid, just because you didn't teach it doesn't mean the you in another world didn't teach it. Looking at it this way, our Misty's brain is still quite flexible."】

Misty: "Slander, this is pure slander. I really am just afraid of bugs."】

Violet, Daisy, Ayame: "Heh heh."】

【Caterpie, Weedle, Venonat, Spinarak—for the next period of time, what Ash and the others encountered were all very ordinary Bug-type Pokémon. They couldn't even find a trace of the Pinsir, Heracross, or Scyther that Ash wanted most.】

【"Phew. This is good news." She already had a headache with one Bug-type Pokémon, Metapod, in the team; if another Bug-type Pokémon came, she wouldn't be able to handle it.】

【"Tsk tsk tsk."】

【"Tsk."】.

103: Did Dark Ash obtain the Fountain of Life that keeps one forever young?

【Misty was just rejoicing that they hadn't encountered any rare Bug-type Pokémon, but who knew the slap in the face would come so quickly.】

【Rare Pokémon don't appear, but once they do, they appear in a large group.】

【In the open space in front of their team, a group of Pinsir and Scyther were having a group fight.】

【Pinsir and Scyther fighting is actually not uncommon in the forest. Pinsir are naturally short-tempered Pokémon that like to use force at the slightest disagreement. And Scyther never tolerates others' tempers; as natural warriors, they are never afraid of conflict.】

【Therefore, as long as Pinsir and Scyther get together, they will definitely fight.】

【A chaotic battle officially began.】

【Unlike battles between other Pokémon, in the great battle between Pinsir and Scyther, very few Pokémon use moves; there is only the collision of blood and flesh.】

【The battle lasted for a full hour and finally ended with a great victory for the Scyther tribe.】

【The one who performed best in the battle was the leader of the Scyther tribe. The combat talent it displayed in the battle made even Ash applaud.】

【"Ash, do you want to capture it?" If Ash really wanted to capture a Pokémon on Murcott Island, then this Scyther would be the best choice.】

【"It's too old," Ash shook his head.】

【This Scyther is good in every way, except that it's a bit old. Unlike Ghost-type Pokémon, there is no saying that Bug-type Pokémon get more 'magical' as they get older. Age is the biggest killer of Bug-type Pokémon; no matter how strong a Bug-type Pokémon is, it cannot resist the erosion of time.】

【"It's really a pity," Ash sighed.】

【Wild Pokémon are more prone to aging than Pokémon raised by trainers. This Scyther's age is estimated to be around twenty.】

【For a Scyther raised by a trainer, twenty is the prime of life and still in the rising period, but wild Scyther are different. Twenty is already the end of their peak, and what follows is a cliff-like decline period.】

【"800" It could already be clearly felt that this Scyther was almost unable to keep up. After a battle, the other Scyther in the tribe were still playing as if nothing had happened, while only it sat alone on the ground, gasping for air.】

Ash: "I wonder what the fate of the Scyther in the parallel world is."】

【Tracey probably won't meet the Scyther again. Without Tracey, can the Scyther still spend the rest of its life happily?】

【Ash began to worry for the Scyther.】

Misty: "It would be perfect if Dark Ash could capture the Scyther."】

Lance: "It's unlikely. I don't think Dark Ash will capture the Scyther; this Scyther clearly has no value for training anymore."】

【Trainers generally only capture Pokémon in the rising period; no trainer will capture Pokémon in the declining period.】

【Capturing such Pokémon is thankless work. Everyone isn't stupid; there isn't that much time to waste on this type of Pokémon.】

【Ding!】

【Entering the prize quiz session!】

【Just then, a question appeared on the big screen.】

【Question: What kind of fate will the Scyther face?】

【A: Not captured by anyone, failing to compete for the leader position, and spending the rest of its life in depression.】

【B: Encountering Tracey, who came to the island on business, by chance, being captured by Tracey, and spending the rest of its life happily.】

【C: Captured by Dark Ash, blooming with a second spring, and starting to climb to a new peak.】

【D: Captured by Brock, becoming a good helper on Brock's path as a breeder.】

【E: Captured by Misty, helping Misty overcome her fear of Bug-type Pokémon.】

Wallace: "It should be my turn. It should be my turn!!!"

Steven: "Don't, Wallace, let's leave the opportunity to us rookies. You are a strong person on par with Leon. Getting stronger by relying on rewards doesn't fit your style, does it?"】

Wallace: "..."

Leon: "Um, actually, I also really want a reward."】

Gardenia: "The correct answer to this question must be A. Sometimes life is just that shitty."】

Volkner: "Wrong, wrong, the correct answer to this question is B. Tracey will definitely meet the Scyther again. Fate is sometimes just that wonderful."】

Aaron: "Anyway, no matter what you choose, you can't choose C. C is just too outrageous. It's one thing for Dark Ash to capture the Scyther, but to let the Scyther bloom with a second spring and climb to a new peak? Brother, the guy is already a grandpa, how can he climb to a new peak?"】

Alder: "Are you looking down on grandpas?"】

Caitlin: "Mr. Alder, do you have the qualifications to speak? Who was it that started slacking off after their partner passed away? Even you couldn't climb to a new peak after getting old, so how could the Scyther do it?"】

Alder: "Er, um, I have already pulled myself together."】

Skyla: "It's too late, Mr. Alder. We don't need you anymore; what we need now is a new champion."】

Elesa: "New people, new things, new atmosphere; it should have been time to change a champion long ago. If we let you continue to serve as champion, our Unova will always be lifeless."】

Alder: "..."

Diantha: "Could the correct answer be D? Brock is a soft-hearted person. If Ash doesn't capture the Scyther, he might feel compassion."】

Malva: "Can you take a good look at the current timeline? The Scyther is still a high-spirited leader right now; does it need Brock's sympathy? D is definitely wrong. I choose A."】

Korrina: "I choose E. Answer E looks outrageous, but it might just be the correct answer."】

【Remote town in Kanto.】

【"Which one is the correct answer?"】

【Brock's head was about to explode.】

【He also really wanted a legendary Pokémon.】

【Even Misty has a legendary Pokémon; it wouldn't be too much for him, Brock, to also have one, right?】
