Chapter 79

~6 min read 1,164 words

The gazes of Fujibayashi Kyou and the others fell upon Lin Ye.

Up until now, Lin Ye had always been their leader; at most, the Otaku and Fujibayashi Kyou would occasionally offer some ideas, but the rest of them had no useful suggestions to provide.

"Lin Jun, you decide! I believe in you."

After Fujibayashi Kyou stated her position, the Otaku immediately spoke up as well,

"Whichever room Brother Lin says, that's the one. Brother Lin's choices are always spot on."

Not to mention the Blonde Girl.

The only person in the art room who didn't react was Kawasaki, who stood far away, becoming a one-man group.

"I believe we need to search four rooms: the Chairman's office on the fourth floor, the Student Council office, and so on,"

"The faculty office on the third floor, the biology laboratory,"

"And since the second floor is the grade she attended, we need to search Class 2-D and Class 2-G,"

"And the physics laboratory on the first floor."

"That makes nine rooms in total. To put it simply, we will give up searching the first-year Class B and Class E classrooms, and the third-year Class F classroom."

Because the female ghost was a second-year student,

the possibility of the target item being in a first-year or third-year classroom was very small.

Fujibayashi Kyou pursed her lips, as if wanting to say something.

"Fujibayashi, do you have any thoughts?"

"Well... could the third-year Class F be special? After all, it is Class F."

This letter was indeed special; she herself was in Class F.

Lin Ye finally looked toward Kawasaki, who had been treating himself as invisible not far away, and asked,

"Kawasaki, do you have any thoughts?"

"None."

He refused coldly, completely excluding himself from Lin Ye's group of four.

"Kansei-kun, Brother Lin is asking for your opinion, there's no need for such a cold attitude!"

The Blonde Girl suddenly felt the value of her own existence.

"Everyone is discussing and looking for a way to leave here alive. Later, we all have to go out and find the hidden bones. You acting like this..."

"Heh."

Kawasaki laughed.

"Acting like what? Is there a problem with me not participating in your discussion and not offering any opinions?"

Of course there's a problem!

You are excluding yourself from this group!

It will greatly lower your survival rate.

The Blonde Girl was even more amazed by Kawasaki's intelligence.

"I'll just say it here! I am not going out to look for clues, and I definitely won't go looking for any bones,"

"I don't want to be killed by that female ghost. We are all in this art room right now, yet she hasn't appeared. I can confirm that it's safe here; we won't encounter a ghost attack. I'm going to wait here until dawn before leaving."

His words reminded everyone of another way to 'leave here'.

Once dawn comes, one can leave.

The Blonde Girl suddenly felt like a clown. Her boyfriend's intelligence was actually on point; he had even figured out a way to survive and clear the level early on.

But it couldn't be denied that what her boyfriend said was also correct: it was safe here.

The female ghost hadn't appeared yet, so there was a high probability she wouldn't appear again. The art room was safer than the faculty office—it was an absolutely safe zone.

"Chiharu, as your boyfriend, I advise you that it's best to stay here."

The Blonde Girl couldn't help but glance at Lin Ye.

"Unless he threatens to kill us, we don't want to go out. Does that mean we must leave here?"

In the blink of an eye,

the atmosphere in the art room changed.

It was safe here; the female ghost wouldn't come. Once it was daytime, they could leave and return to reality.

The safety here was high!

"But, what if the daytime never comes!"

"Wouldn't it be too late to go looking then?"

The Blonde Girl suddenly opened her eyes wide in realization.

"Brother Lin, we..."

"You can choose to stay here. I won't force you. All of you can; everyone has the freedom to choose."

The first to state her position was Fujibayashi Kyou.

"I'll go with Lin Jun."

She believed in Lin Ye.

The Otaku hesitated.

For safety reasons, he definitely felt it was safer to stay here. But once he chose to stay, it meant parting ways with Lin Ye. If he encountered danger later, Lin Ye definitely wouldn't step in to save him.

And he still had a conflict with Kawasaki.

What to do?

Lin Ye walked toward the art room door, and Fujibayashi Kyou followed immediately. The two left quickly.

"Following me means you might encounter the female ghost."

He looked at the girl beside him and said.

"But I believe Lin Jun will definitely protect me. I'll be fine."

"You're really confident."

"I, it's not confidence!"

Fujibayashi Kyou blushed shyly.

"Wait for me, Brother Lin."

In the end,

the Otaku ran out.

After some struggle, he finally decided to act with Lin Ye.

The art room was safe for now, but would it stay safe forever? Perhaps there was a time limit, too!

That was his guess.

Regarding the Otaku's decision to follow, Lin Ye figured out the reason after a moment of thought. He had a conflict with Kawasaki. If Kawasaki harbored a desire for revenge, he wouldn't necessarily be able to handle it alone in the art room.

The Blonde Girl was Kawasaki's girlfriend, and the Otaku had a conflict with Kawasaki; the Blonde Girl would basically help Kawasaki. Facing that man-and-woman combo, the Otaku, being just an ordinary person, would find it hard to cope.

"Brother Lin, I still believe in you. I feel much more at ease by your side."

Full of a sense of security, the Otaku laughed.

"When I was at the shoe lockers on the first floor earlier, I did push that guy to buy myself time to escape, but please rest assured, I will never do anything to betray you or Miss Fujibayashi. If I do anything to betray you two, may I be struck by lightning."

He even took the initiative to explain, wanting to dispel any lingering resentment in Lin Ye's heart.

No one likes someone who intentionally harms others, and he was the same. Now that he had already done such a thing, he had to make a statement to regain trust.

Lin Ye didn't say anything, only indicating that the Otaku should follow and do his part, and not to scream or panic if he encountered the female ghost.

The Otaku nodded vigorously to show he understood.

"Lin Jun, where should we start searching?"

"Let's start from the fourth floor."

He saw the Student Council office in front of him.

A key was inserted, and with a turn, the classroom door opened; the key quickly vanished.

'Click...'

The lights turned on, illuminating the vast, empty Student Council office.
