Chapter 185: The Sixth Heavenly Demon, the Luo Sha Four Ghosts, the Imperial Assassination Unit!

After the two sides stared at each other for a long time, Najeta was the first to buckle under the pressure and asked, "Are you the sole god of the Holy Empire?"

"That's right. You must have seen my statue in the Imperial Capital," Li An nodded and said.

Najeta took a deep breath, smoothed out her excitement, and continued asking, "Since you are a god, why do you meddle in mortal affairs?"

Li An patiently continued to explain, "Because of faith!"

Najeta was briefly stunned, then immediately understood.

No wonder the Holy Empire was founded upon the church, the church's authority even superseded the state, and every time those mechanical lifeforms conquered a city, angels would immediately arrive to build a church.

Everything was clear now—the sole god before her needed faith!

"Then after you unify the entire continent, will you treat the common people well?" Najeta asked again.

"To me, the common people are the source of faith. Do you think I would mistreat them?" Li An asked back with a smile.

"I understand. I wish to join the Holy Empire and serve the sole god, my lord!" Najeta dropped to one knee on the spot and offered her loyalty.

Currently, the entire continent was controlled by three factions; originally, the Revolutionary Army's side would have been the most suitable place for her to go.

But the Revolutionary Army, the alien tribes, and the many Imperial Governors' Alliance had already become a chaotic mix, and impurities had even seeped into the upper echelons.

The current Revolutionary Federation was no longer the Revolutionary Army of old.

So after she learned of Li An's purpose, she immediately chose to swear allegiance to Li An.

As a god, Li An disdained mortal power.

What he needed was faith, and the source of faith was the common people, so he certainly would not mistreat them.

Only by letting the common people live good lives would they believe in him even more.

Although Li An's motives were not pure, as long as the result was good, that was enough.

Li An looked at the kneeling Najeta, a smile curling at the corner of his mouth.

He had to admit, Najeta without her blinded eye and missing arm was truly beautiful!

A head of silver-white hair braided into a plait, a black skintight adventurer's outfit, with a General's trench coat over it—she was simply dazzling.

The key point was her figure, tall and slender.

Full where she should be full, slim where she should be slim, with curves in all the right places.

Utterly feminine!

The current Najeta was nothing like the mannish woman from the start of the story.

"I accept your allegiance, and at the same time I hereby appoint you as the Commander of the Holy Empire's Holy Knights!" Li An said with a smile.

"Holy Knights? What is that?" Najeta did not know of this organization.

Although the Holy Empire had only been established for a month, it only had two external organizations—one was the Mechanical Lifeform Corps (Armored Species), and the other was the Angel Corps (Winged Species); as for the Holy Knights, she had never heard of them at all.

"The Holy Knights is a special force I plan to form by selecting elite mortals. I've already picked out the members for you," Li An finished speaking and glanced at Raphael beside him.

Raphael understandingly nodded, stepped forward, and said, "Bring the people up!"

The next moment, two beautiful Winged Species brought a group of prisoners into the temple.

This group of prisoners was the former Luo Sha Four Ghosts who had served the old Empire, as well as the elite squad and enhanced squad of the Imperial Assassination Unit.

In addition, there were all the administrators, as well as the Empire's scientific researchers.

The Luo Sha Four Ghosts are: Suzuka, Horse-Head, Zhutian, and Thorn!

These people were all disciples of the Imperial Fist Temple; not only were they highly skilled in martial arts, but because they had taken special herbs year-round, they could control every part of their bodies.

For example, making their fingernails and hair grow long and hard, turning them into weapons.

Originally, Horse-Head was not among the Luo Sha Four Ghosts, but her father Gozuki, because he served as the head of the Imperial Assassination Unit's elite squad, withdrew from the Luo Sha Four Ghosts.

Horse-Head, as Gozuki's woman, naturally took her father's place.

Imperial Assassination Unit, Elite Squad.

Head: Gozuki!

Members: Nahashu, Kuaiyi, Kornelia, Boney, Green, Tsukushi, and Red Eyes!

Imperial Assassination Unit, Enhanced Squad!

Head: Bill!

Drug Development: Dr. Stylish!

Members: Black Eyes, Nataara, Silver, Kaelly, Wumin, and Leims!

Besides these main characters, there were also some minor supporting roles.

Li An did not care whether they were good or bad—as long as they feared death, they would obediently surrender and behave.

Najeta looked at these people, clearly not recognizing many of them.

As a General, although she knew the Empire privately cultivated assassination organizations, she did not know who the members of those assassination organizations were.

After all, this matter had always been handled by the Minister's subordinates, and was certainly kept secret from political rivals like her.

However, she did recognize the Luo Sha Four Ghosts of the Imperial Fist Temple.

These four were the Minister's personal guards, basically familiar faces.

"First take a look at their files. Keep those you find useful, and kill those you don't!" Li An said with an utterly cold expression.

As if these important characters from the original story were nothing more than ants in his eyes.

But this sentence made the Luo Sha Four Ghosts, as well as the elite squad and enhanced squad of the Imperial Assassination Unit, all tremble with fear.

At this moment, a Winged Species handed a file to Najeta.

Najeta took it and offered her thanks.

Immediately, she began to read it carefully.

Before long, Najeta had finished reading.

She closed the file, took a deep breath, and said, "The elite squad and enhanced squad of the Assassination Unit are both usable; the rest are useless!"

In her view, the elite and enhanced units of the Empire's assassination squad were merely children brainwashed by the old Empire; as long as their worldview was changed and they came to recognize the darkness of the old Empire, they could still be saved!

But the management, such as Gozhi, Bill, Dr. Fashion, and the four demons of Luo Sha, were all people who had committed countless evils; they had helped the minister carry out many heinous acts and must be executed!

Upon hearing Najeta's words, the members of the two assassination squads immediately breathed a sigh of relief.

But everyone else's faces changed drastically; they knelt directly on the ground, begging for mercy again and again.

Li An paid no attention to those people's pleas for mercy, but after hearing Najeta's answer, he fell silent.

The Holy Knight Order he founded did not require men.

However, there were quite a few men within the elite and enhanced units of the Empire's assassination squad.

Furthermore, among the four demons of Luo Sha, the Horse Head had only just taken over her father's position and had not yet had time to commit evil.

In Li An's vision, the Horse Head could actually become a member of the Holy Knight Order.
