The boy had white hair and golden eyes, wearing a black-and-gold hunting robe, his expression solemn.

"Alright, we'll listen to Master," Higurashi said obediently the moment she saw Li An's serious face.

The girl nodded vigorously, terrified of making the Master angry and rejecting her.

"Good," Li An nodded approvingly. "Go rest now."

"Mm!" Higurashi replied, then pulled the girl into the room.

Li An then turned to the boy and said, "Tonight you'll have to endure sleeping on the sofa."

"No hardship at all, Master—I'm thrilled!" The boy said with excitement.

Night passed quickly.

The next day, as soon as Li An woke up, he smelled a fragrance.

Walking into the kitchen, he saw Kurahashi Keiko and Higurashi preparing breakfast, while the boy and girl assisted.

Seeing Li An awake, Kurahashi Keiko said, "You're up? Go brush your teeth and wash your face—breakfast will be ready soon."

"Mm, thanks for your hard work," Li An nodded and went to the bathroom to freshen up.

When he emerged, the boy and girl had already placed the prepared breakfast on the table.

Previously, living alone, his home was not only cold and empty, but he had to do everything himself.

Zen'in Maki!

Li An walked over and called out, "Maki, come here."

"A shikigami has manifested inside Sōbu High. Its power is considerable. My mission is to exorcise it," Zen'in Maki explained briefly.

"Probably Level Two. Details are still unclear," Zen'in Maki shook her head.

Zen'in Maki's expression darkened. She sneered back: "The granddaughter of the Onmyōjuku headmaster, the noble daughter of the Kurahashi family—what are you doing in this backwater of Chiba City? Is your Onmyōjuku worse than Sōbu High?"

"Hmph, none of your business!" Kurahashi Keiko pouted and sniffed coldly.

Zen'in Maki ignored her and turned to Li An: "Want to come inside and take a look?"

"Fine—it's my school," Li An nodded, not refusing.

"I'm coming too!" Kurahashi Keiko said immediately.

Then Li An spoke: "Wait outside for me. I'll be out soon."
