Chapter 339: Finally Couldn't Hold Back and Made a Move, Huh?

~4 min read 616 words

Li An felt a flash of white light before his eyes; his body seemed pulled by an invisible force. After a dizzying whirl, he found himself in an unfamiliar world. Sunlight filtered through dense leaves, casting mottled shadows. Birdsong and distant human voices reached his ears. He drew a deep breath; the air carried the unique freshness of Konoha mixed with the scent of earth.

"So this is Konoha Village..." Li An murmured to himself, a flicker of wariness passing through his eyes. Having just transmigrated, he keenly sensed several faint, lurking presences around him. He knew the Anbu ninjas had already set their sights on him.

On the surface, he acted as if nothing were wrong, glancing about, while his mind raced with calculations. Every step he took was cautious, as if a trap might spring beneath his feet at any moment. Suddenly, his peripheral vision caught a black shadow darting past; immediately after, a chilling killing intent surged from behind.

"Hmph!" Li An let out a cold snort, his body swiftly twisting aside. A flash of cold light sliced past the hem of his clothes. Looking closely, he saw it was a sharp kunai.

"Finally couldn't hold back and made a move, huh~?" A cold sneer curled Li An's lips, though inwardly he felt tense. He knew his current situation was extremely perilous; a single misstep would cost him his life on the spot.

Just then, a gentle voice sounded: "Alright, stand down." Li An turned toward the sound and saw a man with a kind face and a forehead protector approaching; it was Iruka.

Iruka looked at Li An, a hint of scrutiny in his eyes: "Hello, I am Iruka, a teacher at Konoha Village. Where are you from? What is your purpose in coming to Konoha Village?"

Li An's heart stirred, yet he put on an innocent smile: "Hello, Teacher Iruka. My name is Li An. I don't know how I ended up here. I bear no ill will toward Konoha Village."

Iruka frowned slightly, clearly unsatisfied with this answer. He took a step forward, a faint chakra fluctuation radiating from him: "Oh? Is that so? Then your movements just now, dodging the Anbu's attack, do not seem like those of an ordinary outsider."

Li An felt a chill in his heart and secretly activated his system to analyze Iruka's abilities. Moments later, he felt reassured, yet he feigned panic on his face: "Teacher Iruka, I... it was just an instinctive reaction. I really am not a bad person."

Iruka stared into Li An's eyes, as if trying to spot a flaw in his gaze. Li An, in turn, gazed back without fear, his eyes clear, as if he truly were just an innocent transmigrator.

Just as the standoff reached an impasse, Iruka suddenly felt a chill surge from behind. His expression changed; he spun around swiftly and saw a purple light shooting toward him.

"Careful!" Li An shouted, simultaneously rushing forward and shoving Iruka aside. That purple light grazed their bodies and exploded into a small crater on the ground.

Iruka stared at Li An in shock: "This is..."

Li An's expression grave: "Teacher Iruka, someone is ambushing us from the shadows. It seems this place is not peaceful."

Iruka took a deep breath and nodded: "Thank you, Li An. It seems I wrongly accused you just now."

Li An secretly breathed a sigh of relief, though his face remained vigilant: "Teacher Iruka, let us find a safe place first."

The two walked cautiously toward the village. Along the way, Iruka kept a wary eye on their surroundings, while Li An walked as if carefree, though his mind was constantly pondering.
