Chapter 484: Defeat the Dark Forces

Li An gently patted Guo Yao's shoulder and comforted her, "Don't be afraid, I'm here. We'll face it together."

Just then, Taichi Kamiya and Agumon, Izzy and Patamon also rushed over. Taichi's eyes were filled with determination: "We're here! This time we must defeat the Dark Forces!" Agumon jumped up excitedly: "Yes, yes! Agumon will evolve and defeat the bad guys!"

Izzy pushed up his glasses and said calmly, "Based on the information I collected earlier, Infinite Mountain likely hides the key clue to defeating the Dark Four Heavenly Kings. However, the dangers here cannot be underestimated." Patamon nodded vigorously beside him: "Patamon will do his best too!"

Everyone took a deep breath, exchanged a glance, and walked toward the depths of Infinite Mountain. As soon as they stepped into the forest, a stench of decay hit them. The surrounding trees twisted and deformed, their trunks covered in black patterns, as if monsters eroded by dark power. The fallen leaves on the ground also emitted an eerie glow; every step they took produced a "crunch, crunch" sound, as if someone was watching them from the darkness~.

"Everyone be careful; this place is full of eeriness," Li An said in a low voice, his eyes constantly scanning the surroundings, missing not a single corner.

No sooner had he spoken than a sharp whistling sound came from all directions. A group of black shadows rushed at them like lightning. These shadows had blurred forms and moved extremely fast; before everyone could react, the attack had already arrived.

"Be careful!" Li An shouted, quickly shielding Guo Yao behind him while simultaneously gathering energy in both hands and shooting it toward the black shadows. Taichi and Agumon immediately entered combat mode; Agumon spat flames from his mouth, trying to block the black shadows' attack.

"These are the Dark Four Heavenly Kings' minions!" Izzy shouted. He quickly took out his computer and began analyzing the enemies' information. Patamon also nervously hid behind Izzy, ready to evolve at any moment.

The enemies' attacks came fiercely and constantly changed their methods. Some black shadows launched strong assaults from the front, while others circled around to ambush them from behind. Everyone immediately fell into a defensive stance, and a tense atmosphere spread. A hint of gravity appeared in Li An's eyes; he realized these enemies were more tricky than any they had encountered before.

"These guys' attack patterns are very regular; they seem to be testing our strength," Li An shouted to everyone while fending off the enemies' attacks, "Don't panic; act according to my commands!"

Taichi and Agumon bravely charged at the enemies. Agumon evolved into Greymon, whose massive body charged recklessly across the battlefield. However, the enemies seemed to have anticipated this; suddenly, a huge trap appeared beneath their feet, and Taichi and Greymon instantly fell into it.

"Taichi!" Li An was startled in his heart; he hadn't expected the enemies to be so cunning.

"Damn it, we've fallen for their trap!" Greymon roared angrily inside the trap.

Li An quickly calmed down. He closed his eyes and used the Golden Finger System to rapidly analyze the enemies' action patterns and the trap's structure. Izzy also operated his computer nervously beside him, trying to find a way to rescue Taichi and Greymon.

"I've got an idea!" Li An suddenly opened his eyes and looked at Izzy. "Patamon's special ability might help us."

Izzy immediately understood Li An's meaning. He turned to Patamon and said, "Patamon, evolve! Use your power to open a passage and rescue Taichi and Greymon!"
