Chapter 54
"Mm!" Li An smiled and nodded.
Just then, two figures walked out from the school's teaching building.
One was a tall, handsome white-haired young man, a full one-metre-ninety or so.
Only his eyes were wrapped in black bandages, making him look a little chuunibyou.
The other was a burly, square-faced middle-aged man with a beard, wearing a pair of black glasses.
Combined with the black suit he wore, his presence was overwhelming.
The moment Li An saw these two, he already knew their identities.
The Jujutsu High teacher Gojo Satoru, and Principal Yaga Masamichi.
The two came before Li An, and Yaga Masamichi spoke first: "This must be our friend Li An. Welcome to our Tokyo Metropolitan Jujutsu High School as our guest!"
"I just came along with Maki to take a look." Li An waved his hand, telling them there was no need for such formality.
Gojo Satoru, meanwhile, laughed heartily and patted Zen'in Maki's shoulder: "Not bad, Maki. You wrapped up the mission target that fast."
"Eyepatch bastard, shut your mouth!" Zen'in Maki slapped Gojo Satoru's hand away, her face fierce as she spoke.
Gojo Satoru, however, kept teasing: "A girl has to be gentle, you know. You can't act too fierce in front of someone you like — you'll get disliked!"
"You bastard!" Zen'in Maki could stand no more. She drew out the Mist-Cutter's Return that Li An had given her and slashed straight at Gojo Satoru.
Yet Gojo Satoru neither dodged nor flinched, letting the blade swing toward him.
The next moment, a strange scene unfolded.
The blade stopped some thirty centimetres from Gojo Satoru, as if blocked by an invisible layer of defence.
"Tch, that damned Limitless Cursed Technique again!" Zen'in Maki said, somewhat annoyed.
"You two, quiet down — stop messing around!" Yaga Masamichi suddenly snapped, landing one punch each on Gojo Satoru and Zen'in Maki.
He then turned back to Li An and said: "Apologies for the embarrassment, friend Li An."
Li An, however, shook his head and said: "Not at all. I think this kind of teacher-student relationship is rather nice."
When teachers and students get along as friends, it gives a very warm feeling.
"Li An, how about becoming a nominal teacher at our Jujutsu High?" Gojo Satoru appeared beside Li An in an instant, draping an arm over his shoulder as he spoke.
Hearing Gojo Satoru's words, everyone was slightly startled.
They had considered recruiting Li An, but only as a student — having him come here to study.
Yet Gojo Satoru was asking him to come as a teacher. That seemed a bit far-fetched.
But what Li An said next shocked everyone all over again.
He thought for a moment, then said: "Being a teacher is fine, but I don't have much time. I can only teach four classes a month!"
"Deal!" Gojo Satoru agreed without hesitation.
A look of delight also appeared on Yaga Masamichi's face. To draw such a powerhouse to their school — this was simply a heaven-sent blessing!
Zen'in Maki came to her senses, somewhat disbelieving: "Then from now on, won't I have to call you Teacher Li An?"
Gojo Satoru laughed: "Little sweetheart turns teacher. Poor Maki."
"You bastard!" Zen'in Maki drew her blade and slashed again.
This time, however, Gojo Satoru dodged — and even taunted her: "Can't catch me!"
Watching the two start causing trouble again, Yaga Masamichi could only sigh and shake his head helplessly.
Li An, however, broke into a smile. He liked this atmosphere very much.
One had to admit, Gojo Satoru really knew how to teach his students.
Whether Itadori Yuji, or Fushiguro Megumi, or the second-years Zen'in Maki, Okkotsu Yuta, Inumaki Toge, Xiong Mao, or the third-years Shoko Ieiri, Hoshi Kirara, and so on.
They all had excellent character — the sort of people worth a deep friendship.
Perhaps Gojo Satoru wasn't much good at teaching lessons, but at educating people he was absolutely top-tier.
After Zen'in Maki and Gojo Satoru roughhoused for a while, they finally settled down.
Yaga Masamichi said to Li An: "Li An, since you've agreed to become a teacher at our school, you're one of us from now on. Stay for dinner tonight — let's celebrate and welcome you aboard!"
"Sure!" Li An nodded in agreement.
Zen'in Maki said: "I'm going to take a shower first. I'm drenched in sweat — I stink!"
"Then Satoru and I will handle dinner." Yaga Masamichi also said with a smile.
"Huh? Why do I have to cook?" Gojo Satoru said, displeased.
Yaga Masamichi simply punched him, then dragged him off to the school cafeteria.
Seeing this, Xiong Mao remarked wistfully: "Looks like the only one who can beat Gojo Satoru is Yaga!"
Inumaki Toge, however, disagreed: "Bonito flakes!"
As he said it, he pointed at Li An.
Xiong Mao slapped his forehead: "Slip of the memory. The strongest person in the Jujutsu Society now isn't Gojo Satoru — it's Li An!"
Li An, however, recalled that this world was a Comprehensive Anime World, where not only Cursed Techniques but also Onmyodo existed.
So he asked, curious: "Can Gojo Satoru beat Tsuchimogoro Yako?"
Hearing this, both Xiong Mao and Inumaki Toge fell silent.
Tsuchimogoro Yako — the strongest onmyoji in modern history.
The Imperial-Style Onmyodo in use today was created by him through fusing Onmyodo, esoteric Buddhism, Shugendō, Shinto, and many other supernatural systems of the Land of Cherry Blossoms. Not only was its power countless times greater than the Onmyodo of old, but its use was also far simpler and more convenient.
And the General-Form Onmyodo used by modern onmyoji was simply a castrated version of the Imperial-Style Onmyodo — refined and simplified once more, with all soul-related techniques stripped out.
One could say Tsuchimogoro Yako was the ultimate idol of every onmyoji in the Land of Cherry Blossoms — a true, absolute genius!
But Gojo Satoru was no weakling either. After all, he had inherited both the Six Eyes and the Limitless Cursed Technique of the Gojo family — he too could be called a super genius!
It was just a shame these two geniuses did not live in the same era, and could never compete!
After a long silence, Xiong Mao finally spoke: "It should be Tuyu Yeguang. Although I'd love to say Teacher Wu Tiao is the strongest, Tuyu Yeguang radiates too much glory."
Goujuan Ji also crouched down and wrote with his finger on the ground: "That's right. It's said Tuyu Yeguang's 'Tai Shan Fu Jun Ji' can resurrect the dead!"
