Chapter 578: Thank You for Your Trust
Li An looked at them gratefully: "Thank you for your trust. We will give it everything we've got."
After resolving the crisis of the holy power, Li An had thought he could enjoy a moment of peace, but the gears of fate had not stopped turning—a new challenge quietly descended.
In the Future Gadget Laboratory's somewhat cluttered yet tech-filled lab, Okabe Rintaro excitedly scribbled and drew on the blackboard, muttering to himself: "According to my theory, changes in the world line are by no means accidental—they must be tied to some key factor." He wore his signature black trench coat, his messy hair swaying with his movements, his eyes gleaming with a fanatic light, as if exploring an unprecedented mysterious realm.
Li An stood to one side, arms crossed, brows slightly furrowed, seriously pondering Okabe's words: "I've noticed it too. All these strange incidents lately seem to revolve around changes in the world line." His gaze was sharp, revealing composure and wisdom, not letting slip a single detail.
Guo Yao watched them quietly from the side, her eyes full of worry: "Li An, you have to be careful." She unconsciously bit her lip, her hands fidgeting with the hem of her clothes, her heart filled with unease.
Hashida Itaru sat in front of the computer, fingers flying across the keyboard, data flickering nonstop on the screen: "I'm analyzing at full speed over here too, but it really does seem connected to an earlier experiment at the Future Gadget Laboratory." He wore black-framed glasses, a tense look on his face, a thin sheen of sweat beading on his forehead.
Just as everyone was deep in their research, the lab door was suddenly smashed open and a group of mysterious people rushed in. They wore black suits, their eyes icy cold, weapons in hand—clearly well prepared.
"Hand over all technical data related to the experiment!" the leader of the mysterious group said coldly, his voice low and chilling, brimming with pressure.
"Who are you people? On what grounds should we hand it over?" Okabe Rintaro shouted angrily, stepping in front of the others, trying to protect everyone.
The mysterious people paid him no heed and charged straight toward where the data was stored. In an instant, the lab was in chaos—various instruments and equipment were knocked to the ground, emitting piercing sounds.
Seeing this, Li An immediately rushed forward to block them. His body moved like lightning, deftly dodging the mysterious people's attacks while looking for a chance to counter. "Guo Yao, find somewhere safe and hide!" he shouted loudly while fighting.
Guo Yao's eyes were full of worry, but she obediently ducked aside. She stared fixedly at Li An, silently praying he would be safe.
"Damn it, who the hell are these guys? Why do they want the data?" Hashida Itaru shouted while dodging attacks.
"No matter who they are, we can't let them succeed!" Li An said through gritted teeth, a look of firm resolve in his eyes.
Amid the chaos, Li An realized these mysterious people seemed to be acting on orders from multiple factions—each with different goals, but all dead set on getting their hands on the Future Gadget Laboratory's experimental data. He kept tangling with the mysterious people while searching for clues, trying to get to the truth behind it all.
However, before the matter was resolved, an even greater crisis followed. After SERN learned of their research direction, they dispatched an even more powerful force to attack the Future Gadget Laboratory.
