Chapter 710: Defeating This Enemy

~4 min read 632 words

"Looks like we'll have to join forces to defeat this enemy." Li An said, looking at Eileen, his voice filled with resolve.

Amid the rumbling collapse of the trial space, Li An and Guo Yao clung tightly to each other, their gazes piercing through the flying rubble and surging energy as they tried to find a sliver of hope for survival. Li An clenched his fists, a defiant light flashing in his eyes, wanting to use his own formidable strength to break through these layers of crisis.

"Li An, we can't charge in head-on, we need to find a stable place to hide first!" Guo Yao shouted anxiously, her voice carrying a slight tremor, but more than that, worry for Li An. She clutched tightly at Li An's sleeve, her eyes full of pleading.

Li An turned his head, looking at Guo Yao's eyes brimming with worry, and an involuntary ripple stirred in his heart. He took a deep breath, forcing himself to calm his emotions. Yet, the impulse and confidence within him made it hard to accept Guo Yao's suggestion right away.

"Yao'er, don't worry, my strength is enough to handle these dangers. We have to leave here quickly, or the consequences will be unimaginable." Li An said firmly, his tone carrying an unquestionable resolve.

Hearing this, a flash of grievance and helplessness crossed Guo Yao's eyes. She knew Li An's strength and believed in his courage, but she was all the more aware that impulsiveness and recklessness would only make things worse. She bit her lip tightly, trying to keep her tears from falling.

"Li An, I know you can fight, but this isn't a simple battle. This is a trial, a test we have to face. If we can't calm down and find the right way to respond, we'll only put ourselves in greater danger." Guo Yao urged again, her voice carrying a slight choke.

Li An looked at Guo Yao's grievance-filled yet resolute gaze, and an inexplicable irritation welled up inside him. He understood Guo Yao's worry, but he was even more unwilling to disappoint the woman he loved. He took a deep breath, forcing himself to calm down.

Just then, Eileen's voice suddenly rang out in the void, like a cold wind piercing through both their hearts.

"This is also part of the trial. If you two cannot reach an agreement, you will face even more terrifying consequences." Eileen's words carried a hint of authority and unquestionable weight.

Hearing this, Li An's heart involuntarily tightened. He turned to look at Guo Yao, only to see a resolute light flashing in her eyes, as if saying: "Trust me, we will definitely find a way out."

Li An took a deep breath and finally made his decision. He nodded slowly and said to Guo Yao: "Alright, I'll listen to you. Let's find a stable spot."

Hearing this, a flash of surprise and emotion crossed Guo Yao's eyes. She hugged Li An tightly, as if wanting to pour all her feelings into that embrace.

"Li An, thank you. I believe we will definitely get through this difficulty." Guo Yao's voice carried a slight choke, but more than that, resolve and trust.

The two exchanged a smile, as if at that moment, all their disagreements and arguments vanished into thin air. They gripped each other's hands tightly and began searching for a stable point within this collapsing trial space.

The surrounding rubble and energy surged even more violently, as if wanting to completely devour this space. Yet, Li An and Guo Yao were utterly unafraid, clinging tightly to each other as they faced this unknown challenge together.

After a difficult search, they finally discovered a relatively stable area. It was an open ground surrounded by ancient runes, like a forgotten sanctuary..
