Chapter 738: It Succeeded!

"It succeeded!"Li An looked at the light before him, his heart filled with joy.

The light gradually dispersed, and the Shadow of the Abyss was sealed once more. It let out a roar of unwillingness before being swallowed by endless darkness.

"We succeeded!"Guo Yao threw herself into Li An's arms in excitement, her eyes full of admiration and love.

Sophia also revealed a relieved smile: "This is finally over."

However, just as everyone breathed a sigh of relief, Li An felt a vague sense of unease in his heart. He looked into the depths of the Eye of the Abyss, as if some unknown secret hid there.

"Has this really ended?"Li An murmured to himself.

After the brief calm following the sealing of the Shadow of the Abyss, an uneasy undercurrent began to surge quietly. Li An stood atop the sealing ground, gazing deeply into the distance, his nerves that had just relaxed tightening again. Although the Shadow of the Abyss was imprisoned within endless void, its residual dark power spread like a plague to the surrounding areas.

"Brother An, what are you thinking?"Guo Yao's soft voice sounded in his ear; she looked at Li An with worry, her seductive eyes full of concern.

Li An shook his head lightly, his brows tightly furrowed. "Though the Shadow of the Abyss is sealed, its aftermath still rages. Creatures of the Abyss of Darkness are becoming frenzied and restless, attacking nearby beings; we must deal with this as soon as possible."

Hearing this, Sophia and Lei Kesi stepped forward, their looks grave. Sophia, as the Saintess of the Temple of Light, had eyes flashing with determined light. "Li An, I am willing to go with you, to purify this land corrupted by darkness together."

Lei Kesi seemed somewhat hesitant, but finally nodded. "As the Knight Commander of the Temple of Light, I have the duty to protect this land. Though the conservatives may obstruct, I will do my utmost."

The four set out on their journey to the Abyss of Darkness. Along the way, they saw trees twisted by dark power, heard wails and roars from afar, and felt an atmosphere of oppression and fear permeating the air.

When they finally arrived at the Abyss of Darkness, the scene before them was shocking. The once tranquil valley was now in utter disarray; the dark aura spread through the air like a solid substance, suffocating. A giant demon wolf, corrupted and enlarged by dark power, suddenly burst from the shadows. Its speed was so fast, like a black lightning bolt, rushing straight at Li An.

Li An's eyes sharpened, yet his form remained utterly steady. He skillfully sidestepped the demon wolf's pounce, while kicking out with one foot, striking the demon wolf's abdomen squarely. The demon wolf, in pain, staggered back a few steps, but immediately let out a thunderous roar and launched another attack.

Guo Yao watched from the side, her heart pounding with fear; her eyes locked tightly on Li An, her hands clenched into fists, her nails digging almost into her palms without her realizing. She silently prayed in her heart, hoping Li An would be safe.

Facing the demon wolf's fierce assault, Li An appeared even calmer. Seizing the moment, he suddenly exerted force, leaped up, and landed steadily on the demon wolf's back. Then, he clenched both fists and punched the demon wolf's head again and again like raindrops. The demon wolf howled in pain, struggling to break free from Li An's grip, but Li An remained as if stuck to its back, motionless.

Finally, under Li An's series of fierce blows, the demon wolf's massive body crashed down with a boom, silent once more. Li An leaped from the demon wolf's back, brushed the dust from his clothes, his look calm. But Guo Yao rushed forward, grabbed him in a hug, her eyes full of joy and lingering fear. "Brother, you're safe—that's great!"
