Chapter 756: Never Let the Shadow of the Abyss Wreak Havoc Again
In a dimly lit secret chamber, Li An gripped the "Key of Darkness" tightly, his brows furrowed and his heart filled with urgent anxiety. His eyes flickered in the faint light, as if searching for a glimmer of hope.
"Li An, do not worry too much; we will surely find the Key of Light," Guo Yao's voice came from the side. Though severely injured, her tone remained firm and gentle. She lightly took Li An's hand, attempting to offer him some comfort.
Li An turned to look at Guo Yao, a complex emotion flashing in his eyes. He gently patted the back of her hand, signaling her to be at ease. "I know, Yao'er. I will find it, and I will never allow the Shadow of the Abyss to wreak havoc again."
Just then, Sophia suddenly spoke, her voice carrying a hint of hesitation. "Li An, I recall an ancient legend from the Temple of Light mentioning that the Key of Light might be connected to the Void Altar."
"The Void Altar?" Upon hearing this, a spark of surprise flashed in Li An's eyes. He quickly racked his brain for information about the Void Altar, an ancient and mysterious place said to hide endless secrets and power.
"Yes, the Void Altar," Sophia nodded, her gaze revealing a trace of determination. "Although that place is full of danger, I believe the Key of Light is very likely there."
Without hesitation, Li An made his decision immediately. "Good, we will head to the Void Altar at once."
Led by Sophia, the group traversed labyrinthine passages of intricate complexity, finally arriving at the entrance of the Void Altar. A mysterious and oppressive aura permeated the area surrounding the altar, making even the air feel heavy.
Li An took a deep breath, gripped the "Key of Darkness" tightly in his hand, and stepped forward with resolve. He knew this step would determine their fate.
The interior of the altar was filled with complex mechanisms and traps; every step brimmed with unknown dangers. Li An carefully deciphered the mechanisms, his eyes revealing determination and calm. He knew that the slightest carelessness could plunge them into an abyss from which there was no return.
"Watch out!" Suddenly, a startled cry rang out. Li An whipped his head around to see a massive stone block crashing down from above, heading straight for him. He swiftly sidestepped, narrowly dodging the falling rock.
"This place is too dangerous; we must proceed with caution," Li An said in a low, grave voice, his gaze becoming even more vigilant.
They continued forward, encountering countless mechanisms and traps along the way. Relying on his extraordinary wisdom and courage, Li An deciphered them one by one. Yet, each successful decryption left his heart pounding with fear, as if they might fall into a desperate situation at any moment.
Finally, they reached the depths of the altar. On an ancient stone platform, Li An saw what he had dreamed of finding—the "Key of Light." It emitted a soft radiance, as if awaiting the arrival of a destined person.
"We finally found it!" Li An shouted excitedly. He rushed forward and grasped the "Key of Light" in his hand. At this moment, he seemed to see the dawn of victory.
However, just as he prepared to leave, the altar suddenly began to tremble. Massive stone blocks rained down from all directions, as if intending to trap them here forever.
"Run!" Li An shouted loudly. Grabbing Guo Yao and Sophia, he rushed swiftly toward the exit. Yet, at that very moment, a vast abyss appeared before them, seeming ready to swallow them whole.
