Chapter 369: Akiba Reiko fell into the bathtub

~10 min read 1,880 words

"She's gone."

Mitsuhiko looked at Akiba Reiko's departure reluctantly and complained to Genta: "It's all because of you, Genta, you made her angry."

Akaso Kaze patted the little fatty's head and shouted to everyone: "It's about time, everyone disperse, I'll go send Miss Reiko off."

"Lord Akaso is too polite, I can go by myself."

On campus, Akiba Reiko said embarrassedly.

"I didn't just come to send you off," Akaso Kaze smiled slightly and took the thermos from Akiba Reiko's hand.

He unscrewed the lid, looked at the tea inside, and confirmed it with prediction magic.

"Someone put medicine in it. If you drink it, you will lose your voice for a while."

"What? How could this happen?" Akiba Reiko widened her eyes.

She wouldn't doubt Akaso Kaze's words at all.

On the one hand, it was because of the Yin-Yang Master's reputation, and on the other hand, someone around her had indeed had an accident recently.

"Has anyone touched your water cup during this time?" Akaso Kaze asked.

"I haven't drunk water since I came out, and no one has touched my water cup. If there is, it can only be my colleague."

Akiba Reiko calmed down, "Thank you, Lord Akaso, if it weren't for you, I would have been tricked."

"Do you know who did it?" Akaso Kaze asked.

"The concert on Friday is very important, and many music masters from all over the world will come to listen. So I think there will always be some ill-intentioned people who have ideas about my position??."

Akiba Reiko's face was as heavy as water.

If she really had to say whose interests were hindered by her serving as the soprano soloist at the world-class concert on Friday, it was mainly one person.

Chigusa Lala, this is the only person whose interests were damaged because of her performance.

Because before she was finalized as the lead, the original singer was her.

If she were poisoned or simply lost her voice because of the things in that water bottle, then the biggest and most immediate beneficiary would be Chigusa Lala.

Since that's the case, let's cancel the vocal practice at the academy for the next two days and try to keep a low profile.

She thought for a while, raised her head, and said solemnly: "Lord Akaso, can I entrust you with this?"

The day before the concert, two more cases occurred one after another, and both were related to Mizuguchi and Renjo who were killed at Domoto Music Academy before.

First, a gas explosion occurred in a bar, and the bar owner smoked in the gas-filled bar and blew himself up, and then another person fell and drowned while paragliding.

The victims were violinist Shida Osamu and violist Sone Hisao, both of whom were graduates of the first class of Domoto Academy, and were a piano quartet combination until two years ago.

Parts of a flute were also found at both murder scenes, which just happened to form a complete flute with the body tube from the previous explosion scene.

"Currently, it can be determined that this is a serial murder case,"

Megure nodded to several big shots of the Metropolitan Police Department next to him and stood up and said, "Logically speaking, since the flute is complete, the murder should end here, but we can't be careless now, we must confirm the suspect as soon as possible."

At four o'clock in the afternoon, walking on the way home, Akiba Reiko looked at the content on the phone screen, looking a bit restless.

Her appearance was eventually replaced by Chigusa Lala, the reason being that she was involved in several cases and the police needed to investigate.

But this was obviously just an excuse.

Losing the opportunity to go on stage like this, Akiba Reiko was very unwilling.

Just as she was calculating how to fight for it again, she suddenly heard the sound of a car coming from behind.

Judging from the sound, it should be a bulldozer among earthmoving machinery.

Is there any place nearby that needs earthwork? Doesn't seem like it.

But if so, how could there be a heavy truck here?

Before she had time to think about this answer carefully, Akiba Reiko just moved aside a little bit, letting the bulldozer pass by her side on this not-so-wide road.

But...

"??Beep!"

Accompanied by such a long whistle, Akiba Reiko suddenly heard the sound of tracks and the ground bumping repeatedly that became suddenly loud.

There is no doubt that the other party is accelerating.

"Are you crazy?"

Akiba Reiko turned her head in surprise, wanting to see what kind of driver would step on the gas in such a way on such a narrow road with people.

But she only saw a driver who had wrapped himself into a zongzi, driving a bulldozer towards her.

Any fool knows that this is a person with ulterior motives.

Akiba Reiko was taken aback, hurriedly ran forward, and shouted in panic: "Lord Akaso, save me!"

The scene suddenly darkened, water rippled around her, and she had already thrown herself into someone's arms.

Finding herself in a bathtub and feeling Akaso Kaze's embrace, especially her small face pressed tightly against the man's bare chest, Akiba Reiko couldn't help but feel her body soften.

She had never had such intimate contact with a man before, and her heart was beating like a deer.

Akaso Kaze was also quite helpless.

He had accepted the commission and had been keeping an eye on Reiko Akiba using his Eye of Space.

Who would have thought that while he was lying down to take a bath, he hadn't been paying enough attention, and an incident had actually occurred.

Fortunately, when he heard the cry, he pulled her over in time.

The water in the bathtub had already soaked Reiko Akiba’s clothes through.

She hadn't been wearing much to begin with, and being soaked by the water, the fabric clung tightly to her body.

As Akaso Kaze watched, he couldn't help but feel moved.

He began to remove Reiko Akiba’s clothing to prevent her from catching a cold.

Reiko Akiba struggled weakly, murmuring, "It won't do, Master Akaso, I, I am not yet prepared..."

The corners of Akaso Kaze’s mouth curled up slightly as he whispered in her ear, "You don't need to prepare anything; just leave it to me."

The water in the bathtub gradually began to ripple.

The concert was officially scheduled to begin at 5:00 PM.

The Domoto Music Hall occupied a significant amount of land; besides the art-like grand concert hall, there was a forest and a lake connected to a canal in the back.

It was said that the owner of the music hall, Kazuki Domoto, often spent time alone by the tranquil pier.

European classical music originated from nature, which was likely the reason the Domoto Music Hall was built beside the forest and lake.

A rehearsal was underway in the hall; Kazuki Domoto, Takumi Fuwa, and a few others were standing in front of the stage, seemingly having encountered some trouble.

"We still can't find Mr. Miura, who is in charge of tuning the pipe organ,"

Gen Domoto said, "He clearly promised to attend the rehearsal for some minor adjustments, but now he’s nowhere to be found. His cell phone isn't being answered either; it’s really a headache. The hotel where he’s staying said he didn't return last night."

"Forget it, let's not wait for him; let's begin," Kazuki Domoto waved his hand to signal everyone to start preparing, then turned and walked toward the pipe organ console.

"Let's do that," Takumi Fuwa nodded, "Anyway, there are only a few minor adjustments left; even if he isn't here, it shouldn't be a big problem."

"That's true," Gen Domoto said helplessly, "There's nothing we can do about it now. If we call the police, it will only waste more time; we'll just have to wait until after the concert to deal with it."

The lights in the auditorium dimmed, and the rehearsal on stage soon began with the entrance of violinist Shion Yamane and soprano singer Lala Chigusa.

Unlike a piano, the pipe organ was not only massive but also had an exceptionally large number of keys, along with many stops that could be pulled or pushed to allow the organ to produce various different timbres.

A pipe organist would use combinations of these timbres to bring variety to their performance, making it look much more complex than a piano.

Akaso Kaze appeared on the high balcony with Reiko Akiba in his arms; his gaze lingered on Kazuki Domoto for a moment before turning to Shion Yamane and the other performer in front of the stage.

Shion Yamane, who had replaced Kanako Kawahara, showcased the effects of the Stradivarius quite well, but Lala Chigusa always felt like something was missing; she truly couldn't compare to Reiko Akiba.

"Hm?" Reiko Akiba in his arms suddenly frowned, her gaze shifting from the performance of Lala Chigusa and the other to Kazuki Domoto, who was playing the pipe organ.

"What's wrong?" Akaso Kaze asked.

Reiko Akiba shook her head and said, "There is a problem with the sound of the pipe organ. It seems like one of the short whistle pipes isn't tuned correctly; the pitch is low."

Akaso Kaze nodded.

He naturally knew why; someone had deliberately installed something inside the organ pipes.

However, that object didn't pose much of a threat, and there was no point in removing it or not.

Akaso Kaze simply started collecting the bombs.

He was already very skilled at this task.

It didn't take long before he had thrown all the bombs into his soul space.

The criminal, however, had no idea.

On the surface, the rehearsal was a great success; without absolute pitch, even Kazuki Domoto hadn't been able to detect the problem.

Next was waiting for the official performance at 5:00 PM, when this place would welcome musicians and music lovers from all over the world.

Reiko Akiba looked confusedly at Akaso Kaze, who pulled her up to leave.

"Let's go, it's time for us to reveal the truth of this matter," Akaso Kaze said, "Such a magnificent music hall shouldn't be dragged into a case; that would be too much of a pity."

Kazuki Domoto’s lounge was on the second floor of the concert hall, and through the surrounding glass windows, one could see the entire venue.

Takumi Fuwa had entered this lounge during a break in the rehearsal, standing by the half-covered glass window, quietly watching Kazuki Domoto playing the pipe organ on stage.

From the start of the *Ave Maria*, including Kazuki Domoto’s speech in the middle, he watched until the rehearsal ended before preparing to leave, but as soon as he took a step, he saw Akaso Kaze appear at the door.

"Master Akaso?" Takumi Fuwa recognized Akaso Kaze easily, paused, and asked, "Why have you come so early?"

Akaso Kaze did not answer; he walked to the window and looked at the stage below, saying, "There were 24 instances of off-key notes. Are you trying to destroy this music hall through Mr. Domoto’s own hands?"

"W-what?" Takumi Fuwa’s forehead broke into a light sweat, his smile stiffening.
