Chapter 634: Conan and Hattori Heiji were scammed again
Kawakami Noboru quickly confessed his murder method and motive clearly.
Just as he finished speaking, the door to Takai's bedroom suddenly opened.
Conan and Hattori Heiji walked out together.
Hattori Heiji said with a smile:
"Inspector Megure, we've almost finished setting up Mr. Takai's bedroom. Once Officer Takagi buys the wine, we can start... hmm?!"
Hattori Heiji didn't finish his sentence; after seeing the situation in the living room, he was instantly dumbfounded.
Why are everyone's expressions so strange, as if they were looking at two clowns?
Also, isn't that person kneeling on the ground the killer, Kawakami Noboru?
What is he doing kneeling on the ground?
Could it be?
Conan and Hattori Heiji both felt an ominous premonition rise in their hearts.
Inspector Megure laughed and returned the phone to Jodie.
He walked to Hattori Heiji's side and reached out to pat his shoulder.
"Hattori-kun, Conan, sorry for the trouble! But there's no need to busy yourselves. Just a moment ago, Lord Akaso already caught the killer, announced the ironclad proof, and the killer has already confessed."
Hearing Inspector Megure's words, Conan and Hattori Heiji felt as if they had been struck by lightning.
A mouthful of blood surged to their throats, and they almost spat it out.
Such a familiar feeling.
How is it like this again?
We just got ready, and we haven't even said a word of our deduction; how did Akaso Kaze steal the lead again?
Conan wished he could slap himself.
If I had known, why didn't I just say it directly?
Why bother with a case recreation?
Am I crazy?
Conan and Hattori Heiji were on the verge of tears, their two pairs of eyes looking at each other with shared misery, like two jilted lovers abandoned by a scumbag.
Jodie took the phone, nodded a few times, and looked at Inspector Megure: "Inspector Megure, now that the killer has been caught, we'll take our leave. Akaso-san is waiting for us at the cafe across the street!"
"Hmm, go ahead." Inspector Megure nodded generously. "I'll send someone to find you tomorrow to fill out a statement."
He was already happy enough that the case was solved so easily; there was no need to stop people from eating over a small matter.
"Is this case definitely all clear? Do you really not need our help?"
Hattori Heiji was still somewhat unwilling to give up.
Inspector Megure pointed unhappily at Hattori Heiji and Conan.
"Hey, you two, leave immediately. The case is solved; why are you two Gods of Death still staying here? Do you want to get someone else killed?"
A few minutes later, Conan and Hattori Heiji, looking dumbfounded and frustrated, followed Jodie downstairs and walked toward the cafe.
Seeing this scene, Akaso Kaze smiled slightly and waved over the waiter.
"Bring me another cup of coffee."
The waiter looked at the coffee on the table.
Akaso Kaze smiled. "This one is for someone else; she doesn't like it too hot."
The waiter nodded and returned to the kitchen.
Akai Shuichi heard his subordinate's report, his face turning livid.
Hmph, Onmyoji, it seems you really did make an appointment with Jodie. I want to see what kind of tricks you two are up to.
He put some potion into a new coffee cup, handed the waiter something else, and muttered a few words in a low voice.
The waiter served the coffee, then inadvertently brushed against the table, sticking the object under the table.
Akaso Kaze raised an eyebrow.
A wiretap?
What on earth is this guy Akai Shuichi doing?
Jodie and the two arrived at the cafe quickly.
Seeing Akaso Kaze, Hattori Heiji was okay, but Conan's eyes were almost spitting fire.
Akaso Kaze's mouth curled up, and he pushed the two cups of coffee over.
"Busy all night, tired, right? Drink a cup of coffee to moisten your throats first."
Conan said angrily: "No need, I'm full just seeing you."
He couldn't be bothered to pretend and said to Jodie: "Jodie-sensei, I don't get along with this guy; if he's here, I'm not eating this meal."
Jodie looked at Akaso Kaze with feigned difficulty.
"Akaso-san, how about we go back and eat?"
"Sure." Akaso Kaze was exactly as he wished, stepping forward to embrace Jodie, his fingers resting on her exposed slender waist.
Conan and Hattori Heiji were very envious.
The two left the cafe showing off their affection, leaving behind two single dogs who had just been hit hard.
"What do you have to eat in your shop?"
"Waiter?"
Seeing Akaso Kaze leave without drinking the coffee, the waiter was a bit confused. Conan called out twice before he came to his senses.
"Hamburgers, cola, pizza... we have them all."
"Then bring two hamburgers. Hattori, this is Tokyo, so I'll treat..."
Conan said while reaching into his pocket.
"Eh?" Conan's movements suddenly stiffened, and he looked at Hattori Heiji. "I think I left my wallet at home!"
"Ha? What did you say?" Hattori Heiji pouted. "Seriously, then let me do it!" ===== CHAPTER 636 =====
