Chapter 951: The secret passage under the coffin
Conan's mind was not on the food at all, but full of reasoning and the case.
"Ah!"
The scream of the maid Hihara Hikari suddenly broke the silence.
"What happened?!" Conan's eyes lit up immediately.
He smelled the scent of a case.
"N, not good!" Hihara Hikari shouted loudly, "The master, he..."
Torakura Takoya's room was the last room on the right after turning out of the restaurant. When everyone arrived, the maid was sitting on the floor at the door, pointing into the room with a terrified expression.
"The master, he seems to be dead!"
"Please," the Torakura family members who followed behind said dissatisfiedly, "Don't talk nonsense, okay? You know he has been sleeping in a coffin recently."
"No, it's not!" The maid was still unsettled, "When I opened the lid, there was a wooden stake stuck in the master's chest, and it was bloody!"
"A wooden stake?" Everyone was shocked, "Big brother's joke is a bit too much, right?"
Torakura Mashin went up to check the closed Western-style Christian coffin, but the lid could not be opened for a while, as if it were firmly fixed from the inside.
"Is the lid locked?"
"No," the maid had tears in her eyes, "I opened it just now. The master was wearing a black cloak, showing sharp teeth, with a wooden stake in his chest, and blood was flowing everywhere. How could this happen?"
Torakura Mashin tried again, and this time he opened the lid easily, but there was nothing in the coffin, and there was no blood on the velvet lining.
Conan quickly looked inside and found bloodstains in the crevice on the other side.
"How could this happen?" The maid looked at the empty coffin and said in disbelief, "The master has disappeared!"
"Hey, hey," the eldest daughter of the Torakura family doubted, "Did you really see the master? We don't have time to joke with you."
"I think what she said should be true, there are indeed bloodstains here."
Conan turned to look at the maid, "Have you been here all the time?"
"Yes," the maid nodded repeatedly, "The master was really inside, and no one came out!"
"How could this happen?" The Torakura family members couldn't help but panic, "Could it be that big brother has really become a vampire?"
"That's not impossible," the eldest daughter of the Torakura family glanced at the coffin, "There is a rumor in our Torakura family that our ancestors were possessed by vampires, plus Takoya's strange behavior recently, maybe he was also possessed by a vampire."
"Haha, just kidding, right? Just kidding."
The scene was panicked, and the atmosphere became a bit weird.
"Yes, big brother must be joking. Maybe he wants to test us. Because the invitation only said to discuss the inheritance after dinner, he should come out soon, right?"
"Maybe..."
The Torakura family discussed and returned to the restaurant, while Akaso Kaze and Conan stayed at the scene.
Conan leaned into the coffin, reached out and touched the bottom, and finally lifted the velvet lining directly, revealing a sliding door underneath. There was also a secret passage entrance on the ground under the coffin that could be opened.
After pulling the floor tiles away, you could see a narrow staircase by the light.
Conan's eyes lit up, "The case half a year ago really had a problem."
"That, Mr. Kaze..." The maid Hihara Hikari, who ran back, saw Conan checking the coffin and Akaso Kaze standing next to him, and said blankly outside: "Di, dinner is cold. Do you want me to heat it up again?"
"In the end, big brother still didn't appear."
After dinner, the eldest daughter of the Torakura family suggested: "Why don't we take a picture first? Last year, it was just when we were about to take a picture that Takoya suddenly ran into the room."
"That's right," the remaining few said happily, "If everyone is noisy and happy taking pictures, big brother might suddenly appear."
Akaso Kaze led Conan over, and the maid Hihara Hikari behind him bit her finger hesitantly, still thinking about Conan turning over the coffin earlier.
"That, Mr. Kaze, are you..."
"Excuse me," Conan suddenly asked the Torakura family, "What are you doing?"
"We take pictures to commemorate when the family gathers like this. It has been like this since three generations ago."
"Is that so?"
Conan's heart lit up.
This is just right, he can go to that secret passage to investigate, maybe he can collect some clues.
The room for taking pictures is in the collection display room. The maid Hihara Hikari wanted to ask Akaso Kaze, but was called over by the Torakura family to help take pictures.
"Hurry up," the eldest daughter of the Torakura family said dissatisfiedly, "What are you dawdling about?"
"Co, coming!" The maid Hihara Hikari ran over in a panic.
Conan saw that no one was paying attention and turned to leave.
Akaso Kaze also followed behind him.
Conan returned to the villa owner's room again. The position of the coffin had subtly changed. It looked normal, but Conan sensitively noticed that it was not in the same position as before.
To be precise, the coffin seemed to be closer to the wall.
