Chapter 213: Raging Fire Burning the Heavens

~7 min read 1,259 words

Zhao Gang thought seriously for a moment: "Does this mean they value us highly? Or perhaps, they feel fear at the threat we pose?"

"Both are true, but more importantly—" Li Yunlong gave a mysterious smile, "this shows they still don't understand our true strength! They think they can wipe us out by sending three divisions; this is the perfect opportunity for us to deal them a fatal blow!"

Zhao Gang frowned: "Lao Li, what kind of scheme are you cooking up?"

Li Yunlong did not answer directly, but instead said to the Communication Soldier: "Pass the order down: all units are to remain hidden according to plan. No one is allowed to open fire without my command!"

He turned back to Zhao Gang, a cunning glint flashing in his eyes: "Don't the enemies believe we have advanced weapons? Don't they think Brigadier General Hansen is talking nonsense? Very well, today we will let them see with their own eyes what 'Made in Long Country' means!"

Zhao Gang suddenly understood Li Yunlong's plan, his expression turning grave: "You intend to... lure the enemy into an encirclement?"

"Exactly!" Li Yunlong clapped his hands and laughed, "We are deliberately withdrawing from 338 Highland to make the enemy think we are afraid. Once they all enter the valley, we will..." he made a slicing gesture, "wipe them all out in one go!"

Zhao Gang gasped: "Lao Li, this is too risky! The enemy has the strength of three divisions, hundreds of tanks and armored vehicles, and powerful fire support..."

"What of it?" Li Yunlong dismissed it, "With Cloud Bomb and Flying Dragon-1, they are just throwing their lives away no matter how many come! Besides, we have long been prepared; the valley is filled with ambush troops. Once the enemy enters, they won't be able to escape even with wings!"

Zhao Gang wanted to say more, but seeing Li Yunlong's firm gaze, he finally just sighed: "I hope everything goes smoothly."

Li Yunlong patted his shoulder: "Rest assured, after today, the enemy country will thoroughly understand that their so-called 'Steel Torrent' is nothing but a pile of scrap metal in the face of Long Country's weapons!"

In the distance, the enemy's tanks and armored units were advancing along the winding valley road, flashing with a cold metallic luster under the morning light.

They were completely unaware that an unprecedented disaster awaited them ahead...

In the azure sky, a few white clouds drifted leisurely, as if quietly witnessing this decisive battle that was about to change the course of the war.

Li Yunlong stood on the hilltop, patiently waiting for the enemy army to enter the trap he had meticulously set, like a calm hunter waiting for prey to walk right into the net.

"Report to the Frontline Commander-in-Chief, the enemy's vanguard has entered the preset area; about three hundred tanks and armored vehicles have entered the valley zone." The Communication Soldier reported urgently.

Li Yunlong narrowed his eyes and grinned: "Good! Pass on my order: all fire points ready, execute the 'Raging Fire Burning the Heavens' plan!"

Those four simple words transmitted over the radio were like a key, opening the gates of hell.

On the hidden positions on both sides of the valley, the Long Country soldiers quickly removed their camouflage and set up the launch devices they had prepared long ago.

Ultra-light Mortar, modified rocket launchers, portable "Flying Dragon-1", and even a few Heavy Artillery pieces captured from the enemy, all pointed at the road in the valley filled with enemy tanks.

"Three..." Li Yunlong began the countdown, his eyes fixed on the enemy army in the valley.

"Two..." The enemy tanks remained oblivious, continuing to advance forward like lambs walking into a trap.

"One..." Li Yunlong took a deep breath, swung his right hand down violently, "Fire!"

In an instant, hundreds of Cloud Bomb soared into the air, dragging white smoke trails, streaking across the sky like a meteor shower, heading straight for the enemy positions.

The Division Commander of the enemy's 7th Division was standing on his command vehicle, observing the valley ahead through binoculars.

Suddenly, he noticed flashes of light on both sides of the valley, followed by the sound of dense rocket launches.

"What is that?" he asked with a frown.

Before the adjutant could answer, dense white dots had already appeared in the sky, diving toward them at an astonishing speed.

"Evasive maneuvers!" the Division Commander roared instinctively, but it was too late.

The first wave of Cloud Bomb landed accurately in the center of the enemy armored cluster; unlike conventional shells, these special munitions did not explode immediately, but first released a layer of mist-like fuel cloud.

After a few seconds of eerie silence, the whole world seemed to be torn apart.

"Boom—!"

Deafening explosions followed one after another, and huge fireballs rose into the air, forming small Mushroom Cloud.

The fuel cloud was ignited in an instant, forming a sea of fire with temperatures reaching 3000 degrees, sweeping through the entire valley.

The enemy's armored vehicles were like melting candles in this extreme heat; the armor deformed and twisted, and the Engine and fuel tanks exploded, creating a chain reaction.

Those once-daunting "Patton" tanks were now coffins in a steel hell, burned alive along with the crews inside.

"My God!" an enemy Communication Officer stared in horror at the hellish scene before him, "This is a Mushroom Egg! The Long Country people have dropped a Mushroom Egg!"

This sentence spread across the entire enemy channel via radio, triggering an unprecedented panic.

The enemy soldiers scrambled to save their lives, abandoning weapons and discarding equipment; their only thought was to escape this burning hell.

But the nature of the Cloud Bomb allowed the burning cloud to "flow" along the ground, chasing those soldiers who tried to flee and swallowing them up.

The earth trembled amidst the massive explosions, and the air was distorted by the high heat, forming eerie heat waves.

The sky was dyed orange-red by the dense Mushroom Cloud, as if the apocalypse had arrived.

The valley echoed with shrill screams and wails, mixed with the roar of exploding armored vehicles and secondary ammunition detonations, composing a symphony of hell.

Li Yunlong stood on the high ground, watching all this with an expressionless face.

This had already transcended the scope of traditional warfare, appearing more like some kind of natural disaster, except this "natural disaster" was man-made.

"This... is too terrifying." Zhao Gang's voice trembled, his face as pale as paper.

Li Yunlong did not answer, but turned to the Communication Soldier: "Pass the order down: second wave of attacks ready, target is the enemy's follow-up troops and command center."

As the order was given, another round of Cloud Bomb ascended, this time targeting the rear of the valley, where the enemy command post was located.

The Division Commander of the 7th Division had no time to retreat before he was knocked to the ground by the heat wave.

He scrambled up, looking at the scene before him in fear—his pride-and-joy tank unit had been destroyed in just a few minutes, leaving behind only a graveyard of deformed, burning metal.

"This is impossible..." he muttered to himself, "How could the Long Country people have this kind of weapon..."

Just then, the second wave of Cloud Bomb fell, and one of them hit directly near the command vehicle.

In the final moment of his life, the Division Commander saw a scorching orange-red fire cloud rushing toward him, and then... everything faded into darkness.
