……
Li Yunlong raised an eyebrow: "What news? Speak quickly!"
The Communication Soldier handed over a telegram: "The Jian-6 Fighter is about to undergo test flights and can be deployed to the front line within a month. By then, we will completely master air superiority."
"Jian... 6?" Li Yunlong was stunned, "What kind of new gadget is this again?"
Zhao Gang leaned over to look at the telegram, also looking bewildered: "Judging by the name, it seems to be an airplane, but is it more powerful than a Drone?"
Li Yunlong's eyes lit up: "It must be an even more powerful airplane! This kid has been hiding it from me; he must be wanting to give me a surprise!"
He clapped his hands and laughed loudly: "Good! With this 'Jian-6', we can shoot down the Star-Spangled Country guys' U-2! Let's see how arrogant they can be then!"
Jin Zhengzhe asked curiously: "General Li, is this 'Jian-6' really that powerful? Can it shoot down a U-2?"
Li Yunlong puffed out his chest, and although he himself did not know what the Jian-6 was, he still said confidently:
"Of course! Designed by Li Mingyuan himself, how could it not be powerful? Just wait and see, this kid is definitely going to give the Star-Spangled Country guys another big surprise!"
……
At the same time, in the Di Guo on the other side of the ocean, an unprecedented crisis was brewing.
In Washington D. C., inside a special conference room three levels underground in the Pentagon, the air was frozen like a thick block of ice.
"Is this fucking kidding me? An unmanned airplane?" Air Force Lieutenant General Robert West slammed the stack of photos onto the conference table.
"Who can tell me this isn't some sci-fi script for a novel?"
Intelligence Officer Colonel Thomson's face was pale, and the beads of sweat on his forehead were falling like broken strings of pearls:
"General, I didn't dare to believe it either, but these photos and data have all undergone triple verification.
Our F-86 'Sabre' cannot catch up to them, and anti-aircraft fire cannot hit them; they are just like..."
"Like what?" General West narrowed his eyes.
"Like a Ghost from the future." Thomson's voice was squeezed out from between his teeth.
The conference room was deathly silent.
The photos scattered on the tabletop clearly recorded everything—those streamlined flying machines without cockpits, and the strange bombs they dropped that burst in the air, forming umbrella-shaped kill zones.
"Have the loss statistics been calculated?" Deputy Minister of National Defense Edwin Wilson finally broke the silence.
"Quite heavy, sir." An Army Colonel opened a folder,
"Three forward bases have been basically destroyed, with 367 dead, over 800 seriously injured, and over 1,200 slightly injured.
Equipment losses include 32 tanks, 47 artillery pieces, 14 fighter jets on the ground, and nearly a thousand tons of ammunition and fuel."
"Jesus Christ..." General West slumped into his chair, as if he had suddenly aged ten years,
"The losses in a single day exceed the total of the past month?"
"The problem is, what exactly are these things?" asked Jack Hall, the Group Leader of the CIA Special Operations Group, his voice unnaturally calm,
"We know that Long Country was founded only a few years ago, with a weak industrial base and limited scientific research capabilities.
Unmanned flight technology is one of our most cutting-edge research projects, and yet now they have actually deployed it to the battlefield?"
Technical analysis expert Bob Daniels stood up, dimmed the lights, turned on the projector, and began to play the analysis images of the wreckage brought back from the front line:
"According to our preliminary analysis of the wreckage, these Drones use a simplified version of a Jet Engine, but the efficiency is surprisingly high.
The airframe design is extremely sophisticated, and the aerodynamic shape is almost perfect—frankly speaking, it is more advanced than the prototypes in our laboratories."
He switched to the next photo:
"What is even more shocking is this 'Cluster Bomb'.
It adopts a two-stage release mechanism; the Main Bomb bursts at a preset altitude, releasing hundreds of Submunitions,
and each Submunition is precisely calculated to explode according to a specific time sequence, forming a perfect coverage area from which there is almost nowhere to escape."
"This is simply military science fiction!" Air Force Chief of Staff Alan Shepard couldn't help but interject,
"Even for us, we only have some theoretical designs, and we are at least 5-10 years away from combat deployment!"
"I think the most likely explanation is that the Polar Bear leaked secret technology to Long Country," said CIA Deputy Director James Angleton, though his eyes clearly revealed uncertainty.
"No, the Polar Bear does not have this technology either," the Intelligence Director of the Department of Defense calmly denied this speculation,
"According to our assessment, their Drone project is even more backward than ours."
"Then the question arises." Deputy Minister Wilson tapped his fingers on the table, "If it is not the Polar Bear, where did these technologies come from?"
The conference room fell into silence again, until an intelligence analyst said softly: "As far as we know, these weapon systems all seem to come from one person—Li Mingyuan."
"Li Mingyuan?" Almost everyone frowned at the same time.
"Yes, an engineer from Long Country. He studied abroad in the Polar Bear, but did not show any special talent.
However, since returning to his country, he has designed a series of mind-boggling weapons—first the Cloud Bomb, then various Anti-aircraft Systems, and now Drones and Cluster Bombs."
"One person? That's impossible!" General West slammed the table,
"Even if Ai and Feng joined forces, it would be impossible to develop so many advanced weapon systems in such a short time!"
"In any case, we must adjust our strategy immediately," Deputy Minister Wilson said sternly,
"Air Force, dispatch the latest F-86E fighters to the war zone; Intelligence Department, I want all data on Li Mingyuan; CIA, prepare a special operations plan."
He looked around at everyone in the conference room:
"Gentlemen, I don't care if this Li Mingyuan is a genius or a devil; from now on, he is our number one target. Find him, learn his secrets, and if necessary... eliminate him."
……
Inside an underground bunker in Dongbei, Li Mingyuan was surrounded by a group of engineers in front of a WP-5 Turbojet Engine, carefully checking every detail.
"Has the angle of the Compressor Blade been adjusted?" he asked, his eyes fixed on the front of the engine.
"It has been modified according to your requirements, Chief Engineer." Zhang Gong pushed up his reading glasses, his voice trembling slightly with excitement,
"Theoretically, the thrust should be able to increase by 7%."
Li Mingyuan nodded: "Good, tonight we will conduct the second round of bench testing; if everything goes smoothly, we can install it onto the airframe tomorrow."
Walking out of the Engine test room, Li Mingyuan looked up at the J-6 being assembled inside the bunker.
Although it was only a prototype, its streamlined fuselage, twin-tail design, and 30mm cannon already made it look like a silver beast ready to take flight at any moment.
"You're the only thing missing, little one." Li Mingyuan gently stroked the fuselage, a smile tugging at the corners of his mouth, "Once you take to the sky, let's see how those F-86s can still be arrogant."
