Chapter 511: Refrigerator Crushes Superpowers

~6 min read 1,194 words

"Please mind the safety distance, everyone," Li Mingyuan reminded, "Although 'Fuxi' has multiple safety protections, it is, after all, a precision device operating at high speed."

He pressed the green start button, and the machine tool emitted a low hum before beginning to operate autonomously. The workbench moved precisely, the spindle descended slowly, and the cutting tool head made contact with the metal surface, sending metal shavings flying like a silver waterfall.

Most shocking of all was that the entire process was fully automated, without any human intervention. The machine tool moved precisely according to the preset trajectory; tool changing, adjusting feed speed, and changing cutting angles were all controlled by the program. The visitors stared, dumbfounded, as this machine carved complex metal parts with astonishing speed and precision.

"This... this is impossible..." a French engineer muttered to himself, "Without human intervention, how does it know the cutting depth and path?"

"Through digital control, sir," Li Mingyuan explained, his voice carrying an unconcealable pride, "Every movement, every millimeter of travel, is pre-calculated by the 'Pangu' computer and converted into precise instructions."

Forty minutes later, the machine tool completed the final step, the spindle stopped rotating, and the workbench returned to its initial position. The control screen displayed "Program execution complete."

Li Mingyuan carefully removed the finished product, blew away the residual metal shavings with compressed air, and then held the part high for everyone to see clearly. It was a complex-shaped metal part, its surface smooth as a mirror, with distinct edges and corners, embodying a certain peculiar industrial aesthetic.

"The core component of the Sea Eagle vector nozzle," he announced, "Please, experts, examine its precision."

For a moment, no one dared to step forward, as if it were not an ordinary metal part, but some kind of magical holy relic. Finally, Professor Hansen gathered his courage, took the part, pulled a vernier caliper from his pocket, and began to measure.

His hands trembled slightly; after measuring several key dimensions, his face turned pale: "Precise to 0.01 millimeters... every dimension is perfectly compliant... this... this kind of precision is impossible to achieve without manual adjustment!"

"Allow me to check as well," Academician Ivanov of Beijixiong Guo snatched the part and the caliper, frantically re-verifying the measurements. When he confirmed that the precision had indeed reached 0.01 millimeters, he actually sat down on the floor, staring blankly at the part in his hands as if he had seen the end of the world.

"My God..." BBC live reporter Clarkson's voice trembled as he whispered to the camera, "This is not a performance, not special effects, this is real. Long Country has indeed mastered a brand-new manufacturing technology..."

A deathly silence lasted for several seconds inside the laboratory, and then, the Agence France-Presse reporter suddenly rushed toward the door like a madman, shouting as he ran: "I must file my story! This is the news of the century!"

Other reporters seemed to wake from their shock as well, scrambling to rush toward the communication equipment. The BBC's live signal was suddenly interrupted, cutting back to the London studio, where the host explained "technical difficulties" with a bewildered face, but all the viewers understood what had happened—the reporters had lost their professional composure and fallen into complete chaos.

Li Mingyuan stood calmly at the center of the storm, watching all this chaos, yet his heart was unusually calm. He knew that the chaos at this moment was only the beginning; the real storm was about to sweep across the globe.

Meanwhile, Star-Spangled Country, the Pentagon.

The telephone in Secretary Maxwell's office had barely stopped ringing. He had just hung up the President's emergency call when the National Security Advisor's line came through.

"I already know!" he roared, "There is no need for everyone to tell me the same bad news!"

He slammed the phone down, turned to face the "Dawn-I" model on the display stand in the center of the office—that technological miracle that had once made him so proud now looked so ridiculous, so primitive. An uncontrollable rage surged in his heart; he grabbed the paperweight from the desk and smashed it hard against the model, and with a harsh shattering sound, "Dawn-I" fell to pieces.

"Li Mingyuan..." he whispered through gritted teeth, "Who exactly are you? Where on earth did you get these technologies?"

The phone rang again; this time it was the Director of Intelligence.

"Mr. Maxwell, we need to reorganize the intelligence network immediately," the voice on the other end of the line was nervous and urgent, "It is clear that our assessment of Long Country's technological capabilities was a catastrophic error."

"Error?" Maxwell sneered, "This is not an error, this is total intelligence blindness! The entire intelligence system should be disbanded! How could we possibly not know that they had already developed such advanced technology?"

"Our agents are attempting to obtain more information," the Director of Intelligence said cautiously, "Preliminary judgment is that Long Country's 'Pangu' system is at least ten years ahead of us, perhaps more..."

"Ten years?" Maxwell muttered to himself, "God help us..."

Beijixiong Guo, the Kremlin.

Inside the Security Council emergency meeting room, the atmosphere was like a graveyard. The scientific advisor was stuttering as he reported the preliminary intelligence transmitted back from Penglai Base.

"According to Ivanov's report, the 'Pangu-III' system uses some kind of... some kind of Integrated Circuit Technology that we completely do not understand. This technology can integrate thousands of Transistors onto a small Chip, fundamentally changing the architecture and performance of Computers."

"Then what about our 'Red Star' project?" a Politburo member asked with a gloomy face.

The scientific advisor lowered his head: "It is already completely obsolete, comrade. Continuing to develop Computers based on Discrete Transistors is like studying steam engines in the jet age..."

The Chairman was silent for a moment, then suddenly slapped the table and stood up: "Issue an order immediately, the Siberia research institute must destroy all blueprints and prototypes of 'Red Star-1'! We cannot continue to waste resources on the wrong path!"

He turned to the head of intelligence: "Use every means necessary; I need to know how Long Country obtained this technology. Was it alien help? Or a scientist who traveled back from the future?"

Although these speculations sounded absurd, no one dared to laugh, because the technological leap before their eyes had already jumped off the track of normal technological development, bordering on the plot of a science fiction novel.

The next morning, the front-page headlines of major global newspapers were surprisingly consistent:

*The New York Times*: "Long Country Refrigerator Crushes Two Superpowers"

*The Times*: "Eastern Miracle: Integrated Circuits Redefine the Computing Era"

*Le Figaro*: "The Future World Behind the Gate of Penglai: Long Country Technological Revolution Shocks the World"

*Truth Daily* (rarely admitting an opponent's achievement): "Long Country Computer Technology Leads the World"

Global stock markets fluctuated violently due to this news; the stock prices of electronics and computer-related companies plummeted, and investors panicked and sold off, fearing that existing technological paths were already completely obsolete. The governments of the two major powers came forward urgently to soothe the market, but with little effect.
