Chapter 573: They Will Want It

~7 min read 1,253 words

Counselor Li from the Wajiaobu said with concern: "If we rashly launch a so-called 'top-tier international journal' only for it to be ignored by everyone, wouldn't that be inviting humiliation? We would be mocked by Western media as 'building a cart behind closed doors,' and it might even damage the technical image we have worked so hard to establish."

The atmosphere in the conference room grew increasingly tense, with almost everyone expressing opposition or doubt. Minister Zhang looked at Li Mingyuan, thinking that this kid was likely to get a cold shoulder today.

However, Li Mingyuan remained unshaken. Only after everyone had finished speaking did he begin, unhurriedly: "Everyone's concerns are very reasonable. Indeed, if *Cangjie* were just an ordinary scientific journal, it would be destined to be ignored, or even become a laughingstock."

He turned and walked toward the projection screen, pressing the remote control. The screen displayed a simple and elegant journal cover design—the characters for *Cangjie* were in a primitive, golden seal script, set against a deep blue background like a starry sky, surrounded by geometric patterns and modern interpretations of ancient oracle bone symbols. The overall design possessed both Eastern charm and a sense of modern technology.

"But *Cangjie* is by no means an ordinary journal." Li Mingyuan turned around, his gaze like a torch, "And we do not need to wait for Western scholars to condescend to submit their work."

Minister Zhang keenly sensed that familiar glint in Li Mingyuan's eyes—the expression he had every time he was about to throw out some earth-shattering idea. Minister Zhang's heart suddenly tightened.

"In the first issue, we will publish two blockbuster papers." Li Mingyuan's voice was steady, yet every word carried immense weight, "The first: 'The Complete Theoretical System of the Longxin-III Core Architecture and Chinese Programming Paradigms,' containing all key algorithms and technical pathways."

The conference room was suddenly in an uproar; everyone opened their eyes wide in unison, and some even stood up abruptly from their chairs.

"The second: 'Aerodynamic Design, Material Craftsmanship, and Power System Principles of the "Kunpeng" Ground Effect Vehicle,' comprehensively expounding its working principles and design concepts."

"Li Mingyuan! Have you lost your mind?!" General Wang slammed the table and stood up directly, dropping even the honorifics. His face was livid, veins bulging, "Both of these are the nation's highest secrets! Highest secrets! Do you understand? And you want to make them public just like that?!"

The conference room instantly boiled over, and everyone began to speak heatedly:

"Isn't this handing over our core technology on a silver platter?" An old expert from the Military Industry Commission was trembling with rage.

"Secrets we spent so much effort to keep, and now you want to make them public in the blink of an eye?" The representative from the intelligence department shook his head in disbelief.

"If the West gets these papers, won't they be able to replicate our achievements by following them?" The researchers questioned one after another.

"This is simply an act of treason!" A Military Representative even stood up and pointed at Li Mingyuan, roaring, "This is an act of betrayal against the people of Long Country!"

The conference room was in chaos, with almost everyone expressing anger and opposition. Minister Zhang was also stunned; he never expected Li Mingyuan to propose such an almost absurd suggestion. No matter how unexpected this guy usually was, he had never done anything like this before!

"Chief Engineer Li," Minister Zhang suppressed his inner shock, trying to bring the conversation back to a rational track, "Your proposal... is too sudden. Can you explain your reasoning? Why reveal these core secrets?"

Li Mingyuan seemed to have anticipated this chaos, his expression remaining calm. He raised his hand to signal for silence, then walked to the center of the conference table.

"Everyone, please calm down." His voice was not loud, but it had a peculiar penetrating power, causing the boiling conference room to gradually quiet down, "I understand everyone's shock and concern, but please listen to my explanation."

The crowd stared at him with suspicious and angry eyes, but at least they stopped arguing for the moment.

"Computer technology is the core of the future, and the Ground Effect Vehicle represents a disruptive air-sea platform." Li Mingyuan said slowly, his voice calm yet full of power, "These two achievements are at least twenty years ahead of the current era; they are the holy grails of technology that the West dreams of but cannot replicate."

He looked around, his gaze sharp as a knife: "Once the papers are out, they won't be able to ignore them even if they want to! Even if only to crack or falsify them, they will have to study them word for word! The Western scientific community will be unable to ignore the existence of *Cangjie*!"

The atmosphere in the conference room eased slightly, but it remained full of doubt.

Academician Chen of the Academy of Sciences frowned: "Chief Engineer Li, I don't deny that this will cause a sensation, but the price that follows is too high. Once these core technologies are made public, the West will soon catch up. Won't the leading advantage we worked so hard to build be wiped out?"

Li Mingyuan shook his head: "Academician Chen, you are a materials expert; you should know better than anyone where the true technical barriers lie."

He walked to the projection screen and pulled up a series of complex charts and data: "Between theory and practice lies a chasm of craftsmanship and materials. That's right, we will publish the architectural theory and algorithms of the Longxin-III, but we won't mention a single word about the core materials and manufacturing processes."

Li Mingyuan clicked the remote, and a micrograph appeared on the screen, showing a peculiar crystal lattice structure: "This is the quantum tunneling transistor material used in the Longxin-III core processor. Without special smelting processes and equipment, you couldn't build it even if you knew the theory."

He switched to another image, a cross-section of a peculiar metal alloy: "This is the ultra-light, high-strength composite skin of the 'Kunpeng' Ground Effect Vehicle. Without our unique pressing process, it is equally impossible to replicate."

Professor Liu, a technical expert from the Military Industry Commission, hesitated: "That may be so, but the architecture and theory themselves are already worth a fortune. With the theoretical foundation, they can find other ways to develop alternative materials and processes."

"That's right," the Military Representative echoed, "The West's scientific research strength cannot be underestimated. If you point them in the right direction, they will catch up sooner or later."

Li Mingyuan was unimpressed: "You all underestimate our level of lead and overestimate the West's speed of catching up. Even if given the complete theory, without the supporting materials and processes, it will take them at least ten years to catch up."

He sneered: "And ten years from now, where will we be? What will Longxin look like then? To what extent will 'Kunpeng' have evolved?"

These words caused the conference room to fall silent once again. Indeed, technological development never stands still. If Long Country can maintain its current pace of innovation, even if the West begins to catch up, the gap will not be easily narrowed.

But Counselor Li of the Wajiaobu still had doubts: "Chief Engineer Li, even as you say, we are still providing our opponents with valuable intelligence and clues. What is the benefit to us? What is the real purpose of launching *Cangjie*?"
