Chapter 325: Caught

Descended into the cellar.

The first thing that caught the eye were the beds, tables, chairs, benches and other basic facilities.

Although the cellar wasn't large, it basically had everything it should; small as a sparrow, but with all its organs.

Moreover, the cellar didn't feel stifling; the ventilation was good.

It was evident that these Human Traffickers had put considerable effort into expanding the cellar.

In the corners of the cellar, many trembling girls were curled up.

He counted; exactly thirteen.

Matching the number of missing‑person cases received during this period.

"Don't be afraid, we're Police officers, here to rescue you," Han Fei said to the girls huddled in the corner.

Before setting out tonight, they were in plain clothes, so it was normal that the girls didn't recognize them at first.

Han Fei turned his head to look at Wang Dachuan beside him.

"Contact the families of the missing, tell them to come to the Police Station to claim them."

"Got it!"

……

Police Station.

After handing over the rescued people to their families, the officers immediately began tracking the remaining three Escapees.

Thanks to Zhu Bajie's provision of the other three's names, home addresses and other information.

The Police's brief check uncovered the three's specific details, such as ID numbers.

And they used Tianyan Search to commence the hunt.

In hardly any time, Tianyan Search located each of the three's hideouts.

Han Fei immediately gathered the officers and launched the capture operation based on Tianyan Search results.

The capture proceeded smoothly.

The three were caught one after another.

That night, after the arrests, Han Fei began interrogating the four.

First up was Zhu Bajie; the interrogation went unusually smoothly because, seeking Sentence Reduction, he answered almost everything Han Fei asked.

From Zhu Bajie's mouth, Han Fei learned the four's method of operation.

Their method was simple: mainly exploiting girls' compassion to achieve their goals.

The little girl Chen Ke had rescued earlier was the Human Traffickers' "tool" to lure young women into their trap.

Most people, upon seeing a dirty, pitiful little girl crying in an alley at night, would likely approach to ask what's wrong.

Once their compassion overflows and they step into the alley, they're caught in the Human Traffickers' snare.

The traffickers lurking in the shadows would immediately spring out, knock the person unconscious, bind them, and take them away.

According to Zhu Bajie, this method never fails and is highly efficient.

Hence they could succeed multiple times within three days.

"So..." Han Fei nodded, "That little girl was also abducted by you, right?"

Zhu Bajie nodded.

"Yes, we recently abducted that little girl. We originally planned to find a buyer and sell her, but our boss, after seeing her, said we could use her as bait to lure victims, so we didn't sell her and instead used her to snare the subsequent dozen‑plus girls."

Han Fei checked.

A week ago, officers from another jurisdiction received a missing‑person case; after verification, the missing little girl was the one abducted by these Human Traffickers.

He immediately contacted those officers, asking them to get in touch with the reporting parents to return the girl.

With Zhu Bajie's testimony.

The subsequent interrogation of the remaining three was much simpler, as they knew everything about the traffickers.

Even if they tried to be stubborn, it was useless.

The three, seeing that the Police knew every detail, immediately confessed everything.

After the interrogation, they were detained in the Police Station's temporary holding cell, awaiting handover the next morning.

……

"You successfully captured the Escapees and earned a reward—Perception Enhancement."

A notification tone rang in Xu Mo's mind.

He glanced at the system's description of the reward.

He found that this Perception Enhancement was actually a suite of ability upgrades.

Including hearing, smell, touch, and so on.

The most interesting was hearing; not as exaggerated as Wind Ear, but still considerably stronger than ordinary people.

Xu Mo gave it a try.

When he focused, he could clearly hear any tiny sounds from twenty meters away that he previously never noticed.

The feeling was rather marvelous...

Of course, Xu Mo didn't keep testing his senses at the Police Station; he packed up and prepared to go home.

"The case is closed, why haven't you left?" Han Fei asked as he left the office, seeing Xu Mo still lingering at the Police Station.

Xu Mo smiled.

"Just finished packing, about to leave."

"By the way, Han Team, this kidnapping scam is quite insidious, it specifically exploits people's goodwill; I think anyone unfamiliar with it would easily get hooked... How about we invite the media tomorrow to report it, expose this new scam to the public, remind everyone to stay alert, and never give the Human Traffickers a chance."

Han Fei thought seriously about Xu Mo's suggestion.

He nodded afterward.

"Sure, I'll contact the media tomorrow. This really should be reported; we need to raise everyone's awareness of protection. When the media comes tomorrow, I'll have you do the interview."

In the past, the Police Station's cases were almost all murder cases; such cases were naturally kept hidden, as reporting them could easily cause panic.

But this case is clearly suitable and needs to be reported. A human trafficking case won't cause mass panic and can also remind people to watch their personal safety.

Especially since it's a very novel swindle method that exploits people's kindness to lure them; those unfamiliar with it are likely to fall for it.

Han Fei also thought this must be publicized to raise everyone's guard!

……

That evening.

When Xu Mo returned home, he found the four women still awake, all waiting for his return.

As soon as he stepped in, the four greeted him.

"You're back. Did you catch the Human Traffickers?"

"Did you rescue the kidnapped girls?"

Xu Mo was taken aback at first; he hadn't expected the four to care so much about this.

He immediately nodded and replied, "Caught them. The Human Traffickers' gang had four members, and the kidnapped girls have been rescued; we've already contacted their families to bring them home."

"By the way, let me tell you about this new swindle method; be careful in the future and don't get hooked…"
