Chapter 112: Grilled Fish
Grilled Fish
"I'm a Sentinel, are you sure it's me?"
Li Shao squatted again, his sharp brows and eyes near, every gesture like a drawn blade, not hiding his aggressiveness at all.
"Let me think." Fu Guang glanced at him twice, seemingly considering his words.
After a moment, she opened her light brain, and under his eyelids, sent an inquiry message to the two A-rank Sentinels.
The message soon received a reply.
"Sir, what's wrong? We still need three system days to return to school." said the white bird-head avatar.
"It's fine, just be careful." Fu Guang closed her light brain, extended her arm, and said expressionlessly, "Yeah, it's you."
Li Shao almost laughed in anger, unsure whether to speak, could this be the guide's sense of relief? Provoking him to his face, yet acting as if it were natural.
Asking a low-ranking Sentinel for help in front of a high-ranking Sentinel is practically a blatant slap to his face.
"Huh?" the fragile guide uttered a questioning sound.
No one could provoke him twice; Li Shao snorted coldly, stepped forward, his arm slipping through the girl's thin back and icy fish tail, his palm pausing, barely using any strength, he lifted the girl entirely.
Not even a thousandth of his gun's weight, how did Xi Guang raise the guide? Li Shao suddenly felt he had misjudged; previously he'd thought the guy was a decent Sentinel, but he couldn't even manage this.
"Hiss." The girl suddenly spoke, her waist and fish tail lifting up.
He lowered his gaze at the clumsy Fu Guang, like a salted fish trying to flip over.
"Hurry up." Fu Guang urged, if no one had used it, would she really need to use this branding iron?
She tightened her fish tail, patted the man's chest to urge him, "Done, done."
Wait a moment longer and she'll become grilled fish.
"Look at your prospects." Li Shao sneered at the sight of the girl's fish tail scales bursting, showing his sharp fangs, still provoking him—pathetic.
But he still controlled the fire elemental power in his body, his temperature dropping from scalding to a level Fu Guang could gradually accept.
Exhale.
Hearing the girl let out a long breath, Li Shao kicked open the bathroom door, and suddenly a clear knocking sound came from behind.
"What are you doing?" a male voice sounded.
"Not seeing you busy?" Li Shao glanced back, looking at the tall Sentinel leaning against the door, almost as high as the doorframe.
Fu Guang tilted her head back, looking up at the suddenly appearing male Sentinel, and said as a greeting, "You're back."
Ting Zhu strode over with long legs, stood beside them, eyed the gold fish tail over a meter long, and said, "Yo, changed your look? Pretty cool, can I touch it?"
Fu Guang twitched the corner of her mouth and decisively refused, "No."
"All right." After being refused, Ting Zhu didn't insist, but Li Shao's brows pressed together, "Still not leaving?" his voice nearly icy.
"A lone man and woman, or rather a guide and Sentinel pair, brother, I'm afraid you'll go astray." Ting Zhu glanced at the room's furnishings, nowhere to sit, summoned his spiritual form and sat up, speaking leisurely.
"Ha." Fu Guang suddenly laughed out loud, wondering why she hadn't found Ting Zhu so funny before.
The arm supporting her shoulders jerked, adding a bit of force, making her feel a hint of pain.
"Ouch, ouch, ouch, be gentle." Fu Guang couldn't bear it and cried out in pain.
Enduring hardship can never become a habit, merely tolerable; off the battlefield, she doesn't want to endure at all, and she's not competing to suffer the most.
Suddenly the coquettish guide made Li Shao's tensed arm jerk, then gradually relax.
That's more like it.
The girl didn't speak, but her eyes conveyed that meaning.
Li Shao wanted to turn and leave, but for decades, besides his mother, no one could handle him like this.
Just as his temper flared, the girl suddenly sat up, her face drawing near, her golden eyelashes distinct in his vision, her voice suddenly revealing the merperson's innate talent, coaxing, "Take two more steps?"
Ting Zhu smirked, the proud son of heaven who left home, actually obeyed the guide's words; it seems the military didn't send people for nothing.
If he kept coldly refusing, which guide would like such a Sentinel?
As her fish tail touched the icy water, Fu Guang slid down smoothly; called a bathroom, it was more like a cold spring pool, and since Fu Guang herself is a water element, she had previously linked the school's internal training elemental pool.
After entering the password, water elemental power surged through the pipes into the cold spring pool; Fu Guang extended her fish tail, and in an instant she seemed to shed the mundane, sparkling.
Fu Guang dove into the expanded space, the cold spring pool about ten meters deep, and swam leisurely two laps.
Breaking the surface, she saw Li Shao and Ting Zhu, who had just been sitting in the room, standing by the cold spring pool, looking down at her with a dark, unfocused gaze.
If she looked level, she could only see their calves.
"What are you doing?" the girl asked, only her head visible from the pool.
"Your tail looks beautiful." The long gold fish tail swept past from the deep water, like a mysterious beast, but seeing that pretty face, even the fiercest beast would lose its edge.
"Thanks." Fu Guang raised her brows in reply, her gaze toward the protruding claws, the Lu Wu about to enter the water.
"Watch you……" Fu Guang paused, "your spiritual forms."
"Otherwise I'll beat it." The huge Lu Wu, like a white tiger, entered the water as it spoke, its fluffy fur instantly soaked, yet it didn't mind, swimming toward Fu Guang.
Fu Guang suddenly felt a shiver down her spine, her scales slightly flaring, she gritted her teeth and said, "It's leaking electricity."
"Come back." It was Li Shao's voice; a fire lion that had appeared sometime stepped into the water, white mist quickly filling the bathroom, this cramped space.
"Plop." Two huge splashing sounds followed.
In the white mist, Fu Guang chuckled, turned her head, and dove beneath the pool.
"Want to play the rogue?"
A spiritual fluctuation rippled; Fu Guang broke the surface, her fish tail vanished, bare feet landing steadily, golden long gauze revealing long legs, crystal water droplets rolling down her ankles to the ground.
The girl waved her hand, not looking at the two Sentinels halted in the pool by spiritual suggestion; a spatial fluctuation unfolded, vanishing before their eyes.
"Still need more practice." The girl's bell-like voice faded.
Li Shao and Ting Zhu exchanged a glance; the droplets kicked up as Fu Guang broke the surface fell along their brow bones.
Ding.
At the moment the water droplets struck the surface, unknown who first moved, hand blades clashed together, mutually blocking, then separated instantly.
"Ah." Two spirit-body flame lions and a Xingwu fought fiercely, you bit me a bite, I bit you a bite, scattering the water from the cold spring pool throughout the bathroom.
