A-rank Guide Wen Ya

"What's wrong? Tell me, sister." Yin Zhu set down her chopsticks and asked.

Wen Li's tears fell more frequently, her throat felt as if blocked by cotton. Her courage wavered; could she really trust them?

"Oh dear, crying won't solve anything." Yin Zhu's patience is limited; she is truly helpless toward a girl who cries at the slightest word.

"A person made of water? With so many tears?"

"After we solve the problem, let's find a comfortable place to have a good cry, okay?" Fu Guang comforted softly. She always has unparalleled patience with young children.

Wen Li gritted her teeth, about to speak, when a knock came at the door again.

"Hello, Guide Fu Guang, we are White Tower staff." Shang Ze stood up and opened the door.

The White Tower staff member at the door stepped back two steps; his glassy eyes swept over him, making him hold his breath instantly, his mind going blank.

The powerful aura exuded by the S-rank Sentinel left him unable to catch his breath.

Ding dong.

The sound of the elevator operating came, red lights lit up in sequence, a woman in a black wool coat stepped out of the elevator, followed by two Sentinels.

She met Shang Ze's gaze, smiled slightly, her eyes flickered, and she judged him to be an S-rank Sentinel; the information seemed correct.

The woman stepped forward and asked the White Tower staff member in uniform, her voice stern: "I remember I notified the White Tower of Cuiyu; let's wait until I arrive to discuss this."

"I remember you are the person in charge of the White Tower on Emerald Jade Planet." She slapped the man's face with her black-gloved hand, her voice dropping, a cold glint appearing in her eyes.

"Quite the bold move."

The White Tower staff member trembled, his face ashen, terrified to the extreme.

"I... I..." he stammered, already guilty, and under the S-rank Sentinel's intimidating presence found it even harder to get his words out.

"A Da, drag him away, don't kill him—he might still be useful later." The woman in the wool coat waved her hand, uninterested in his excuses, and had the Sentinels behind her take him away.

Not a trace of light remained.

"Hello, Sentinel." Wen Ya examined the man in a crisp white suit before her, his facial features extremely familiar.

"From the Shang family?" she asked, her voice rising.

"The Shang family, Shang Ze." Shang Ze replied expressionlessly to Wen Ya's Guide, recognizing who the person before him was.

A-rank Guide Wen Ya

Wen Ya didn't even glance at the Sentinel, she knocked on the open door, her voice softening considerably: "Fu Guang, may I come in?"

The blonde girl stood up, went to the door: "Of course, it's my honor."

"Hello, I am an A-rank Light Guide, Wen Ya." Wen Ya took off her glove and extended her hand to Fu Guang to introduce herself.

"Fu Guang, D-rank Water Guide."

Wen Ya had been a Guide for not a short time; relying on her past experience, she could tell at a glance what had happened to Wen Li without her needing to say anything.

"The White Tower of the Capital Star usually sends Guides to oversee the White Towers of various planets to avoid mistakes—for example, an A-rank Guide oversees three A-rank planets, ten B-rank planets, and several C- and D-rank planets."

"This is to prevent someone from becoming a Guide and being concealed by the planet's inhabitants, leading to tragedy."

"Young, low-ranking Guides lack the ability to resist; there are always some fearless Sentinels who will force Guides to do counseling, even confinement, and so on."

"To prevent the White Tower from discovering this, they may even artificially damage the Guide's mental landscape, so that the Guide cannot advance, naturally avoiding a mental tide."

Fu Guang clenched her fists, hearing Wen Ya's words, the girl beside her already burst into tears.

"Sob sob sob."

Wen Ya suppressed her anger, her tone again solemn as she told Wen Li: "Little girl, don't be afraid, the White Tower will resolve this."

"Your courage tells me you can step forward and become a strong Guide—do you have the resolve?" Her gaze was gentle yet firm.

Wen Li looked toward the most familiar blonde Guide, and Fu Guang gave her an encouraging smile: "Believe in yourself."

Guides are rare nowadays; the moment one becomes a Guide, there is no time to lament the heavens and blame the earth.

The times and the surrounding atmosphere will tell you: pick up a weapon, become strong, do not become the next lamb led to slaughter.

"Am I really a Guide?" Wen Li felt embarrassed as she lifted her head from Fu Guang's shoulder, black strands of hair twisting and twining around her face.

She pushed aside the tangled hair and asked cautiously.

"After a little test, you'll know." Wen Ya said.

Both Fu Guang and Wen Ya could feel a fluctuation of mental energy in the room—though weak, it was highly active.

The little girl is likely at the differentiation stage; as her mental power gradually recovers, she becomes more sensitive to her surroundings, making things she once tolerated now unbearable.

Her decision to run away was impulsive, but she happened to stumble upon good fortune by chance.

"Just sleep a while; when you wake up, everything will be resolved."

Fu Guang yielded the bedroom, allowing the perpetually tense Wen Li to rest properly for a while.

"With an A-rank Guide present, nothing is unsolvable—go to sleep." She covered the little girl with a blanket and turned to leave the room.

Will it really be resolved?

Wen Li couldn't sleep for a moment, her eyes wide open as she gazed at the rotating stars above.

The problem that had long troubled her, the thing that kept her in constant fear, seemed to be easily resolved.

Everything seemed so unreal as to be unbelievable.

She also thought of those two sisters; though they weren't much older, likely only a few years her senior, they had continually comforted her and tended to her emotions.

Moreover, they were both Guides.

Is she really a Guide?

Accompanied by doubt, the girl fell asleep in the warm blankets, her breathing gradually evening out.

In the living room, only Wen Ya and Fu Guang remained; the Sentinels had long been driven out.

Wen Ya gazed at Fu Guang; although she had never seen Fu Guang in person, she had heard many stories about her from the sisters within the White Tower.

Moreover, most of the guides inside the White Tower were paying attention to Fu Guang inside Alliance University.

She tapped the light brain, issuing orders one after another to her subordinate Sentinels.

Hearing the door close, she lifted her head and invited, "Fu Guang, once we settle Wen Li's matter, if you have time, would you like to wander this planet together?"

"I would be delighted." Fu Guang sat down.

On the list, Wen Ya was the guide who gave her a light pearl; that light pearl can immunize against most of the negative damage from exotic beasts, as well as the Sentinels' psychic attacks and pollution.

Coincidentally, Fu Guang had some doubts about her psychic power cultivation, and the two expressed their views on how to use psychic power to the greatest extent.

Snort.

The light brain before Wen Ya received new information; she sharply struck the tabletop. "Hmph, the Sentinels' incorrigible nature."

Her aura sank all around, her expression vanished completely, and she gave a cold smile without any expression.

Psychic power fluctuated, a sign that the guide was about to become angry.

"I'll go handle something; we'll talk later." Wen Ya abruptly picked up her coat and lifted her leg to leave.

She paused her steps, "If Fu Guang is interested, she can come along."

Fu Guang naturally wanted to go see how the guide handles such matters, thereby judging some things.

She rose, and in Wen Ya's doubtful gaze, went to wake Wen Li.

"We can't leave her alone in the hotel; she's unfamiliar with the place. If the child wakes up, she'll be scared." Fu Guang lowered her eyes and explained.

"Indeed, the Sentinels aren't anything good."
