Chapter 179: Volume Five Conclusion

Volume Five Conclusion

First of all, being able to stumble through and finish this volume's story under "observation" was not easy.

However, it is also a pity that in order to accelerate the ending of this volume, some plot points could not be expanded upon; therefore, personally speaking, the drama and conflict of this volume's story were not quite sufficient in the latter half.

Oh well, oh well, I should try to write fewer ideas that dance on the edge of the minefield in the future.

There were not many Abnormal creatures that appeared in this volume's story, totaling four.

Sky Demon, the Molting One, an Abnormal creature that creates or plunders the appearances of different creatures or even different growth stages of the same creature, is obsessed with the evolution of living things but lacks the ability to evolve itself. Like other Alien Gods, it possesses abilities such as cognitive destruction and meme infection, with a special ability to stealth through the spatial dimensions it creates. The prototype for its initial appearance as a giant skeleton is the strange corpse from an obscure Cthulhu-style movie, "The Empty Man," but the ability design is derived from the "Painted Skin Ghost."

Night Demon, a terrifying creature that wanders between the dark dimension and the Real World, with design inspiration drawn from my mother's "threats" to naughty children who wouldn't sleep during my childhood: "If you don't sleep, if you don't sleep, XXX will come and snatch you away," and so on.

Black Goat of the Woods, the benchmark prototype is the Dark Young of the Black Goat.

Inverted Creator, the benchmark prototype is Shub-Niggurath, but the visual design still references the Outer God C'Thun from the Cthulhu Mythos, as both are trees.

Then there is the Eastern mysterious power, the item being "straw."

The actual ability of the straw comes from a Chinese folk idiom, "Life-Saving Straw," and another common saying, "the last straw that breaks the camel's back."

Anyone who comes into contact with the straw can save their life in a moment of crisis, but saving one's life does not guarantee safety or peace; furthermore, these people will eventually die quickly due to other crises, and all of them will meet a miserable end.

Therefore, in the end, Li Duojin and Chen Xiaolin both died.

I have already thought about the story for the next volume for a long time; it is actually adapted from a murder mystery game script I once wrote. I didn't sell that script, just shared it with friends to play; it belongs to a semi-closed four-to-six-player scenario, and the effect was decent.

I hope everyone will like it.
