Chapter 178 - 162: The Junk Falling from the Sky
"Wanderers! Damn it, are they really coming to rob scraps?! Prepare for battle—"
Bang!
The raccoon dog sniper rifle blew the enemy sniper’s head off with one shot!
Just as the hacker on the vehicle was about to activate the transmission array on the armored car for a hack, his brain suddenly started to burn!
The modified Griffin drone, equipped with a transmission device, instantly connected to the local network and launched a cyberattack!
Fortunately, it was a wireless device. The hacker immediately disconnected from the network and began vomiting in the car!
The Wanderers surrounded the convoy from all directions, forming a complete circle under Lille’s unified command!
"You are attacking company property..."
The announcement wasn’t even finished when the Arasaka people opened the bulletproof car windows, ready to fire—
But their firepower was no match for the dense firepower of the Wanderers!
The window had barely rolled down a bit when bullets dinged against it, forcing the people inside to stop rolling down the window...
The gun barrel could only fire through the tiny gap in the window, making it nearly impossible to aim!
Clearly, they planned to roll down one side first and concentrate their fire on Lille’s side—
But Lille wasn’t going to let this simple tactic render their numerical advantage useless!
On the other side, three Colby Peaks roared to full power and bumped onto the road!
Then they headed straight for the Ragnar armored vehicle!
Boom!
Pan’an and Sol targeted the two armored cars at the rear, while Navi and Adkaduo’s Cassidy took care of the lead vehicle.
Pan’an gripped the steering wheel tightly—
The Wanderers’ cars mostly lacked power steering, fearing it might lock up during a fight!
But this also brought a huge problem—when the car collided, the torque on the steering wheel changed drastically!
If a mistake caused the car to lose speed, a brief loss of control wouldn’t only result in a rapidly spinning steering wheel but could also break an arm!
These audacious Wanderer vehicles were equipped with transmission devices. As the distance closed, the red lights on the signal devices began flashing rapidly—
"Interferer ready, move fast—damn it, move!"
The armored car moved slightly away, then opened the doors and windows—
"Suppress them! Damn it—"
"Heard it!"
In the passenger seat, Mitch had already connected to the vehicle’s machine gun and took down two corporate agents with a burst of fire!
But the other cars didn’t have machine guns!
Sol, also engaging in close combat, swung the steering wheel hard, and the entire car fiercely collided with the Ragnar armored vehicle again!
The violent jolt sent a reverse force through the steering wheel, but Sol’s strong arms didn’t give way. He even took a moment to grab a hand grenade from the passenger side and shoved it into the open armored vehicle—
Finally, Navi at the front gripped the steering wheel tightly—he remembered to hold on, but didn’t know how to handle the car gradually exposing shooting gaps!
"What should I do—what should I do—speak up, you two!"
"Crash into them!"
Jack, in the passenger seat, shouted. The car jerked forward again, and Jack leaned out of the window, reaching over the door to punch the person in the backseat on the other side!
As the saying goes, a punch requires the coordination of hips and legs to channel power from the core to the fists—
But now, it was the car’s power channeled to the fists!
The big guy holding a machine gun had just fired a few rounds, adjusting the bullets hitting the car door upwards towards Jack, but his large fist arrived first!
Bang!
It was as if his head was hit separately by a vehicle, his neck and head disconnected, held by the tactical helmet, swinging like a net holding a basketball!
Cedric in the passenger seat pulled the pin and threw the hand grenade in!
The three cars caught the security convoy off guard, but Cassidy’s car encountered a problem, losing control after being strafed, skidding off to the side, hitting a dirt pile, and eventually flipping over!
Boom!
At the rear of the convoy, the hand grenade exploded, causing an armored car to skid uncontrollably, crashing into an allied vehicle behind it!
The four armored vehicles tried to maneuver but found their steering wheels and engines unresponsive!
West Tuan quickly reached Bolatsk’s side—
"Hack complete, take out the Arasaka personnel."
On the comms, Sol shouted, "Cassidy is hit!"
"I see it—someone support him, prepare for phase two."
Lille designated a rescue vehicle and then maneuvered the Ragnar armored vehicle away from the convoy.
The Ragnar armored vehicles suddenly became docile, autonomously leaving the convoy, cruising at a consistent speed, then opening all the doors.
Inside the vehicles, the drivers and surviving Arasaka agents felt a chill—
Outside, they were faced with dark gun barrels and the grinning Wanderers.
This was a moving coffin.
...
The gunfire continued, and the four armored vehicles were captured just about on schedule, heading for the dam—
"Mayday, mayday! Moore Technology scrap disposal convoy hijacked by Wanderers!"
"Zzt—signal dis...zzt...rescue...zzt...on the way..."
Inside the vehicles, the signal was intermittent, and the scrap truck drivers were terrified.
They just wanted to drive onto the narrow pathway above the dam.
They couldn’t believe the enemy would pursue them up there— even if they did, Bolatsk’s powerful physique could ram these small broken cars off.
The time it took to cross the dam would be enough for nearby Military Technology to arrive.
But...
The Wanderer convoy quickly shifted, moving to the left side of the convoy, including the four captured Ragnar armored vehicles.
What were they planning?
West Tuan broke away, riding swiftly past the lead truck—
Then the truck drivers saw a crazy scene:
The woman in the passenger seat opened the door...
Jumping directly toward the lead truck, clinging to the door!
How she managed to stick her palm to the door was anyone’s guess!
The driver was stunned until V freed a hand to raise the glass breaking air hammer, making him quickly pull out his gun—
Pop!
The window shattered, but the driver never had the chance to fire—
The moment before the glass shattered, Lille fired, the bullet piercing the window almost simultaneously.
Milliseconds of coordination.
The last few rounds from Lille’s Yinglong gun formed a line out of the barrel, piercing the driver’s head like needles—
"The big truck is about to flip—everyone, watch out!"
V shot a line of spider silk, attaching to the steering wheel before leaping back, landing smoothly on West Tuan’s roof, as the truck swerved aside.
The spider silk yanked the steering wheel, causing the truck to skid. At the entrance to the dam’s passage, it sharply turned!
Overcorrecting made the truck flip, sliding toward the road edge!
The trailing vehicles, unable to evade, crashed hard into the front truck’s cargo box!
Three vehicles crashed into a pile, skidding forward a bit before stopping on the dam’s pathway.
The convoy quickly adjusted positions. A dozen cars revved up, ready to send these three wrecked vehicles on their final journey.
The remaining two drivers were already scared stiff, opening the doors and running away, shouting, "Spare us, we didn’t see anything!"
Then, a few steps later, they tripped, their neck connectors sparking, leaving them twitching on the ground.
Lille didn’t kill them, but whether the company would spare them was another matter.
The three trucks were gradually pushed to the edge...
Then, one by one, they slid down the dam—
Bam—bam, bam! Boom!!
The sound was deafening.
Mitch’s voice echoed in the comms channel, regretful, "Bolatsk was a good truck, so it’s a shame..."
Lille said, "Let’s go, Military Technology will be here soon—there will be better ones in the future."
"I’ll remember you said that—we’re all keeping notes, remember that."
"Cut the crap, head back—move quickly, this took longer than expected, don’t let Military Technology catch up.
We still have a Chaotic Blade Association stronghold to hit today, stay sharp and focused!"
Watching the three trucks slide down the dam, the Wanderers returned to their vehicles—including the four captured Ragnar armored vehicles.
The big ones couldn’t be taken, but these four small ones were good enough.
As for Arasaka supplies, they’d be treasures for the Wanderers after some modifications.
...
Saint Domingo, Lama Armory.
"...Are you serious? You rent tools from me but just sit here all day? Are you out of your minds?"
Roshan looked at David and his team with a puzzled expression—
David, Lucy, Pila, and Rebecca, a four-person trash collecting squad.
Rebecca replied, "Old lady, we’re paying you, why do you keep asking so many questions?"
"...Tiny but feisty, one hundred euros per hour, don’t forget. You must be wasting money like you have nothing better to do—
Do you really think valuable trash will fall from the sky?"
Bang!
Roshan froze, and so did the four-person team.
From behind the building, it sounded like a huge collision from the top of the dam.
Roshan looked as if she’d seen a ghost, feeling a bit relieved internally:
"It must be construction work on the dam..."
Boom!
A massive noise erupted from the dam entrance behind the building!
David and his team grabbed their tools and rushed out—
Roshan, puzzled, turned on her camera and saw a scene she’d never forget in her life.
A truck branded with Moore Technology was being pushed down, flipping, bouncing, rolling...
Then crashing to the ground with an earth-shaking boom!
Is valuable trash really falling from the sky?!
