Chapter 221 - 203: Sex Companion Chip
After another busy day, Lille had slept a comfortable sleep—
only to be woken by the scorching temperature of Evil Land.
It was noon here, and after checking the time on his Prosthetic Eye, he realized that five and a half days had passed in the Cyberpunk World, half a day more than in the Marvel universe.
It seemed that the temporary installation of the Octopus Arm had caused some discrepancy in the flow of time between the two sides again.
"Wake up! Don’t sleep anymore! We need to head back to the city today!"
V shook Lille awake.
They had spent a few more days in Evil Land, one reason being to wait for the situation in the city to stabilize, and the other was for Lille to test the difficulty of performing dimensional operations on machinery.
The answer was, it wasn’t difficult at all.
"Stop shaking! My brain’s going to get scrambled!"
V withdrew his hand and said with lingering enthusiasm, "Ah, I just love shaking up a fool..."
When Lille’s main consciousness was in the other world, his body here was more like a machine, only capable of executing less complex commands.
So he appeared rather dull.
Lille glanced at V, "Then you should shake your head every morning—where’s Jack?"
"He’s teaching the rookies how to shoot."
"Grab our stuff and bring the car over; we’re getting ready to leave."
"Wuhu!" V excitedly raised his arms, stretching his lazy back as he walked towards the target range, "Ready to go back!"
Having said that, Lille put down the Adkaduo history textbook he was holding and also stood up to leave the tent—
The campsite had changed significantly.
The main camp of Adkaduo in Night City, also the former site of the red ochre stones, was located in a small ravine, with only a few concealed paths leading to the camp.
Desert camouflage cloth covered the top of the ravine to prevent patrolling drones from discovering it, and the generators were hidden in the sandstone, maintaining the same temperature as Evil Land with the control of instruments.
With money, the middleman Dakota bought new equipment, and Carol also replaced the gear in the camp.
The warehouse was full of brand-new military weapons, ample ammunition, and hand grenades. They were not only fully armed but also had all the necessary vehicles.
The vehicles had been repainted, the hijacked armored vehicles and Bimongs had all undergone their respective modifications, and there were 4 Griffin drones and 1 Octant.
The most significant piece of equipment... was the Mo Xi, lying quietly in the warehouse, waiting for its next mission.
With food, medicine, and weapons, life was sweet—unfortunately, there were still over a hundred thousand people in Adkaduo. If they wanted to arm the entire Tribe to this degree...
By looting, they would have to take down at least half of the Military Technology forces in North America.
Inside the tent, Mitch, Scorpion, and Carol were leading a group testing the software that Lille had transferred to them.
The software would collect operational data and then transmit it to another world through a cross-dimensional data channel—
[In the other world, you confirmed that the mechanical arm was moving in the correct way, but there were precision issues.]
[Warning: Please maintain molecular unity to eliminate communication delays in data transmission.]
[Please improve the industrial process to achieve more stable methods.]
This was feasible, but stability and precision still needed to be improved.
Another issue that Lille was now noticing was: if his body was too different between the two worlds, the data exchange would undergo very complex transformations.
Seeing Lille come in, the few raised their heads and waved, "Looking pretty energetic today, huh?"
Lille found a spot to sit down, "We’re leaving, just a final check—how’s the software package I gave you running?"
"It’s quite good, it’s just..." Mitch scratched his head, "If I’m not mistaken, you want to keep the production of Artificial Blood a secret, right?"
Lille nodded calmly, "Right."
Seeing Lille had no intention of hiding anything, Mitch said forthrightly, "We can tell that you plan to separate the production process. There’s nothing wrong with that, and it’s quite smart, but if you really want to keep a secret, you’d better have matching prosthetics for collecting information and a more secure chip."
"Any suggestions?"
"There is one... an enhanced version of the work chip, the name, you might have heard of it: the sex doll chip."
Lille understood, this indeed was a direction to consider.
The principle of the work chip was a strengthened version of the skill chip; workers did not need to actually master the production technology, they just had to work guided by the chip, and the boss could control the start and end of production.
But in terms of secrecy, it fell short, whereas the sex doll chip was much more formidable.
The sex doll chip, also known as the puppet chip, was for sex dolls and mainly had three functions: to import data from the system, control the behavior of the sex dolls during service, and erase the sex dolls’ memories after each service.
One could see why this was so attractive in the sex trade industry:
In this world, there were still plenty of people who cared about their privacy in this respect, for the sake of reputation or safety.
Customers enjoyed absolute freedom and confidentiality; the sex doll business thrived—a win-win.
However, this device actually originated from military laboratories, for use by soldiers.
After all, the battlefield was also a place that valued secrecy and obedience.
Conveniently, both Mitch and Scorpion were ex-military, and within Adkaduo, there was no shortage of deserters from the unified war era, adept at handling similar chips.
But there was a problem.
"This thing isn’t cheap, if we deploy it to the workers..." Lille smacked his tongue.
From its function, one could see how expensive it was: high-end sex doll chips, with their bio-silicon hybrid chips, were all shipped from stable high-tech production areas like Orbital City.
Strictly speaking, work chips, skill chips, sex doll chips, and even Si Anweisitan’s chips all fell under the category of behavior chips, having guiding or even controlling effects on the user’s behavior.
But memory control was a very complex process, the precision of the sex doll chips was very high, and their architecture and manufacturing methods were complex as well.
Carol shrugged, "But there’s no choice, it’s evident that this is a hard requirement. Adkaduo is very willing to help you, but you have to figure out how to get your hands on the goods yourself.
Plus... you don’t look like a poor man, do you?"
Lille silently bypassed the topic and looked over at Mo Xi, "I’ll find another way. Just make sure to keep an eye on this big guy for me."
"Ha—do you even need to mention it?" Mitch laughed heartily, "This is a treasure. I really want to see the expression on the other Tribes’ faces when they see this thing. You won’t mind if we show off this big toy a bit, will you?"
In terms of ownership, Mo Xi was considered half owned by the Bright Family and half by Lille alone.
But now, Sol essentially looked only to Lille for guidance.
Lille waved his hand dismissively, "You decide on the limit. Starting up this big toy costs a pretty penny. Has Sol set off yet?"
"Not yet, he’s settling accounts over at Dakota’s. Your money should be arriving soon."
Sol was about to send people to contact the other Tribe Elders, and soon leaders or representatives from the other Tribes would arrive at the Night City camp for a meeting.
It was time to head back.
The Mackinaw with red and black stripes roared its engine, coming to a slow stop in front of Lille.
Jack sat in the driver’s seat, while V slapped the car door excitedly, "Get in!"
Mitch shrugged, "Congratulations on leaving this godforsaken Evil Land and returning to the embrace of the city."
"Cities are full of troubles... I’m off, keep in touch."
The Mackinaw drove off, with the people at the camp standing up to see Lille and his two companions off.
Where would the future lead?
To a great extent, it depended on the people on that Mackinaw.
