Chapter 384 - 356: Chasing on a Rainy Night
[Name: High-Performance Motorcycle Type 2 — "Blast Ride"]
[Description: A motorcycle redesigned based on the combat data of Type 1. Unlike Type 1, it forgoes the modification approach and is a completely self-produced, epoch-making combat motorcycle.]
[Redefining the land-based vehicle known as the motorcycle, based on the unique Bursting Propulsion System.]
[Maximum instantaneous speed, 550 km/h; maximum stationary jump height, 3.6 meters]
[Tires generate a strong static charge, which, in combination with the vortex fan, enables short duration vertical wall traversal.]
[Developer: Adrian Tums]
[Developer’s Comments: Not a vehicle that ordinary humans can handle; I actually think it could go faster, but I can hardly understand who would ride such a bike into battle.]
[Regardless, I am very satisfied with its performance in "leaping," a feature ordinary motorcycles do not possess.]
Boom!
The special Blast Propulsion Engine propels with the force of a Hand Grenade explosion; wind and rain slash across the helmet like daggers at such speeds—
In V’s eyes, only the man standing on the roof of the car remained, a 700-meter distance vanished in a blink. By the time the man realized the danger was imminent, it was too late to escape!
With a flash of the knife, the body crashed down.
Bang!
The motorcycle’s rear wheel slammed violently against Mackinaw’s doorframe, but almost simultaneously, the Burst Propulsion Engine spat fire!
Boom!
The explosion illuminated people’s cheeks; in their eyes, the motorcycle skimmed Mackinaw’s rooftop like a dragonfly touching water.
The high-speed motorcycle remained upright and jumped again.
Like a proud knight, her steed raised its head, seeking the next victim!
The light from the explosion became the only focal point on the battlefield, prompting someone to uncontrollably shout:
"The motorcycle is flying!"
The motorcycle took off again from Mackinaw’s rooftop, rushing toward the walls of a building on the street—
Bang!
The tires smashed heavily into the wall, and after two leaps and landings, the motorcycle’s speed dropped to zero, pausing briefly on the wall for a second.
In just that second, V was at the absolute high point, in an excellent shooting position!
She turned and raised her pistol, unleashing a series of bullets toward the enemy, a medium-built man who wasn’t particularly fast, preferring to dart behind cover and advance from a backwards position.
Avoiding V’s shots wasn’t difficult, for two reasons. First, the shooting window was only 1 second long, and it was a backhand shot; V didn’t have any Prosthetics to assist with aiming.
Second, this was a feint.
The bullets forced the man’s movement; the motorcycle’s Blast Propulsion Engine had recharged in that one second, its nozzle flickering with electric light...
Boom!
The man was only concerned about dodging bullets and had no experience dealing with such high-manoeuvrability equipment!
While he was dodging, the motorcycle crashed down explosively; Si Anweisitan’s rapid approach barely saved him from being crushed, but repeated dodges were not easy!
He hadn’t even raised his pistol to retaliate when he saw the secret of the motorcycle’s ability to fly:
It was a high-speed vortex fan, below which was a small exhaust port.
These alcohols were ignited in a thick high-pressure container, causing an explosion, and the resulting high-temperature, high-pressure gases were emitted from here.
Why could he see it so clearly?
Because his face was right in front of this exhaust port!
The intense light first destroyed the Prosthetic Eye, its photosensitive components unable to withstand such brightness, bursting on the spot.
His epidermis vaporized instantly under the scorch of high-temperature gas and flames; the explosion’s pressure wave and air currents violently struck his head—
And then...he descended into darkness.
Boom!
The motorcycle landed upside down under the thrust, along with the mercenary.
His facial features had been reshaped by the explosion; the hot synthetic skin, Subdermal Armor, and facial prosthetics melted together into a mess.
Her head smashed heavily onto the ground, blood and rain mingling and flowing over the pavement...
Whack!
Several soft sounds later, the high beams of the car were repaired by the Six Street Gang, illuminating the rain-soaked night with broken glass and metal fragments.
In the world activated by Si Anweisitan, V saw two figures through the fragments; their sounds of leaping and attacking muffled by the heavy rain, one swinging a fist, the other a knife, attacking from behind her!
V leaned sideways on her motorcycle, pressing the Blast Propulsion Engine button!
Boom!
The explosive propulsion kicked in again, and the motorcycle spun around in such a posture, stepping back a bit.
Using the thrust, V’s strong leg muscles kicked fiercely, suddenly leaping at the right moment—speed beyond both attackers’ imagination—
They swung at nothing!
The motorcycle and V separated in mid-air, smashing toward the man throwing punches who instinctively wanted to explode the motorcycle with his fist, but suddenly remembered his companion’s fate and hurriedly dodged.
It was that split second of dodging, as the motorcycle left his field of sight, he saw his companion’s knife already broken!
The two Mantis Blades were deeply embedded in his companion’s chest, and to counteract the inertia in the air, as soon as the Mantis Blades penetrated the body, V had already twisted the blades sideways, tearing the wound into a terrifying void with immense force.
The Mantis Blades stuck in the chest, and V tossed the body up like a wrestler, drawing an arc in the air—
Immediately after, those eyes looked towards the last mercenary.
The blood-stained blades came at him, slicing through the curtain of rain as if it were made of paper...
The pressure made him forget about the motorcycle.
Boom!
The already dodged motorcycle exploded again in mid-air, striking the man and sending him straight into the blade’s path.
Puff!
In the Si Anweisitan mode, blood and transmission components were operating at their limits; as the blades tore through the body, fluids gushed out like a fountain, staining the veil of rain red.
Blood spilled everywhere, the motorcycle crashed down, and the fire in the air was instantly extinguished.
People saw two more fall, the motorcycle landed steadily in front of V, still roaring.
Rain washed the blood off the Mantis Blades, V casually scraped the blade, wiping off the prosthetic components clinging to it.
The killing was done.
[Si Anweisitan power adjustment, new "Time Stop" limit: 27%]
[This is an experimental adjustment, if you feel any discomfort, please contact the project head.]
Unlike previous upgrades, the prosthetics were offline post-EMP, and the prompts that appeared in V’s eyes were quite formulaic.
People didn’t know what to say, but V had already mounted her bike.
Because of the accident, a car had broken through the siege here, and moreover, some people hadn’t been detected before the EMP.
These people were all attacking toward Woodhaven Street.
Soon, a Six Street Gang officer realized what was happening and immediately pointed in the direction the car had fled:
"Another car got away!"
V nodded, "I know."
As soon as he finished speaking, an explosion rang out from the direction the officer pointed, the metallic friction piercing through the rain curtain was terribly grating.
Roar—
The engine roared, V throttled up, and in the blink of an eye, she had vanished from sight down the street...
A flash of lightning streaked across the sky, illuminating her retreating figure.
Boom!
The sound of thunder and explosion overlapped, David sat down hard on the waterlogged steps.
It may have been an illusion, but he thought he saw the big guy raising his hands, cheering.
"What an incredible bike...I want one too."
Man also sat down, patting his shoulder, "Don’t think too much, be content with what you have."
