Chapter 253: August Update Plan

August Update Plan

In June, I owed 15 chapters.

July's Alliance Leader tip-bonus chapters came to 17. (One Silver Alliance isn't counted in—that one was the Captain's own operation, voted up by fans.)

Monthly ticket bonus chapters, not counting the ones I drummed up myself, ended up at the 84,000-ticket bonus node.

So that's 15+17+21=53

53×4=212,000 characters.

In July, I updated 364,000 characters (including today's chapter, which counts toward July).

Subtracting the guaranteed-update 248,000 characters, I repaid 120,000 characters' worth of owed chapters.

Still 92,000 characters left, which is 23 chapters.

All in all, I repaid loneliness itself.

Writing this, I really cried myself out over the keyboard.

Because from the 26th to the 31st, everyone cast over forty thousand votes!

Not counting those twenty thousand votes, that means in the last five days alone, you cast half the month's total votes.

The month-end monthly-ticket ranking exposure wasn't much, but the debt dealt the Captain a heavy blow.

I had sworn I could repay it all, but this month the Alliance Leaders gave 17 chapters and the monthly tickets 23 chapters—in the end I owed 8 chapters of 4,000 characters more than at the start of the month.

I did the math: in August I need to update 16,000 characters a day, sustained for 11 days, to finish repaying.

The Captain's typing speed honestly isn't fast—16,000 characters a day takes nearly twelve hours, so last month I often didn't sleep until three or four in the morning, and even pulled several all-nighters.

I'm not playing the pity card—it's so this book can keep being written steadily, avoiding burnout.

So this month the Captain won't be begging for monthly tickets either, and as for tip-bonuses, I've never begged for those either.

In August I plan to finish repaying the owed chapters first before talking about anything else.

To reiterate: August's monthly-ticket and Alliance Leader tip-bonus chapter plans are temporarily shelved.

August's guaranteed 240,000 characters + the 92,000 characters of owed chapters—this month's planned update is 332,000 characters, which is already plenty for me to write.

Keeping daily updates over 10,000 characters is honestly still pretty stressful, but it's still a bit easier than 15,000–16,000 a day.

Once it's all repaid, in September I'll come begging for votes again!

Also, thanks to 'Bu Si Bi Mie' for the Silver Alliance. (This Alliance Leader is the alt account of the first Hundred-Million Alliance in web-novel history, 'Ren Pin Jian Ge'. Yep, that's the Hundred-Million Alliance from Supreme God Meng Ru Shen Ji's book.) Big shot, amazing!

Thanks to Alliance Leader 'Yue Lingzhi': Brother Lingzhi, this future Divine Artisan, must be given some screen time—I heard the group chat wants him to pull off a 'Blood Sacrifice' and become a weapon spirit, that actually sounds doable.

Thanks to Alliance Leader 'Taishu Yaoyao': the thousand-year-old Princess who nags for updates every day—thank you so much, you really spur the Captain on to write every single day, thank you so much!!

Thanks to Alliance Leader 'Heise Shiyu Yun': Bro, your votes rank in the top ten every month, that's incredible.

Thanks to Alliance Leader 'Huangsha Du Du Yun', bro—you were the earliest one to ask for a cameo, so I'll hold off and give you one with a higher realm later on.

Thanks to Alliance Leader 'Ni Shui Yang XQ', thanks to Alliance Leader 'Shenqi Kongbai', thanks to Alliance Leader 'Xiao Konglong Ai Chi Yu', thanks to Alliance Leader 'Xiaoxiao De Weiwei', thanks to 'Shiliuye Taotie', thanks to 'Piao Yao Captain'—these Alliance Leaders don't seem to have joined the group chat, just silently reading the book, so let me bow with hands clasped to the big shots—may you all get rich!

Thanks to Wila, the book's very first Alliance Leader.

Thanks to the Operations Officers 'Yuguo Tianqing' and 'Yehuo Linghao Ji' for liking the character cards and livening up the atmosphere.

Thanks to 'Wu Laochen', who corrects my typos every day.

Thanks to Fengmian and Shanhai, who also wrote quite a bit of fanfic and cameo characters.

Thanks to Chitang for the character artwork.

Thanks to all the friends who tipped and subscribed.

In August, the Captain will strive to update, write more exciting plot, finish repaying the owed chapters, and repay everyone's support!
