Chapter 2: Jeep? Minivan!

~6 min read 1,110 words

Sunken asphalt roads, burst red fire hydrants, shattered shop window glass… The piercing honk echoed throughout the city forged of steel-reinforced concrete, the usual neon-lit revelry instantly turning into today's ruins. Desolation and fear filled every alley and street; the usually bustling thoroughfares were now mostly empty, as people rushed to evacuate.

Abstract artworks littered the Tokyo streets, the super-short skirts of schoolgirls left dirty footprints on the ground, and before the colossal beings, the splendor and refinement of human civilization seemed utterly insignificant.

Golzan's massive form darted through the city, its rock‑solid body effortlessly smashing through several skyscrapers.

Melba spread its wings, blotting out the sky and sun, bringing hurricane and darkness, veiling the fierce sunlight above, emitting a piercing roar that made hearts tremble; everywhere it passed lay ruin, a tyrant unstoppable and unmatched.

In the distant forest, a mysteriously appeared pyramid radiated brilliant golden light; ancient stone giants awaiting revival lay dormant within, waiting for the heir of light to appear.

Golzan and Melba's mission was to destroy the stone giants inside the pyramid.

The two monsters that have survived since prehistoric times have deeply felt the terrifying power of the giants; they must not allow the giants to revive, or else their fate will be destruction.

"Buzz—" The Victory Flying Swallow soaring beneath the blue sky was witnessing all this.

Dagu piloted the fighter jet, watching the two terrifying monsters advance toward the pyramid.

He personally witnessed Golzan and Melba fire laser blasts that destroyed the outer pyramid, revealing the three stone giants standing within to the world.

"The monsters' target is the stone giants," Xincheng said over the team channel.

No sooner had the words fallen than Golzan stepped forward, its short, thick forearms slamming hard into the chest of a stone giant, shoving it to the ground and kicking up a cloud of dust.

Then, its sturdier legs unleashed a war‑stomp, mercilessly trampling the chest of a stone giant; a follow‑up blow like a dragon's tail sweep toppled another. The stone giant crushed underfoot was already shattered to pieces—even though it was a giant turned to stone, without the light's blessing it could not withstand Golzan's rock‑like feet.

Melba descended from the sky and likewise pulverized the fallen stone giant, smashing it to fragments so it could no longer recover.

"No—!" Dagu watched helplessly, shouting in agitation.

Although this was his first time seeing these stone giants, for some reason he felt oddly familiar—especially the last one still intact, which gave him an uncanny sense of recognition, as if some unseen bond linked them.

He could not just sit and wait for doom.

Even though the Victory Flying Swallow carried no offensive weapons at the moment.

But how could he just stand by and watch?

Dagu decisively piloted the Victory Flying Swallow to charge at Golzan and Melba.

"Stop it!"

Neither Golzan nor Melba regarded the incoming Victory Flying Swallow as a threat.

With a casual swipe, they destroyed the Victory Flying Swallow that Dagu was piloting.

A plume of smoke rose from its tail.

Tianliuhai knew it was secure.

Dagu was about to transform into Ultraman Diga.

Through the news broadcast, even Tianliuhai in another city could see the full battlefield.

Sure enough, it was still the Ultraman Diga TV universe.

It seems the matter of the North Star Commander was probably a coincidence.

As Tianliuhai pondered silently, an unexpected event quietly arrived.

The calm sea surface suddenly surged with towering waves, one higher than the next, like a devouring sea beast seeking to swallow the city and turn it to ruins; people on the shore panicked at once, fleeing inland like startled beasts.

"Roar!" A deafening bellow rang out, shaking people's hearts.

A colossal shape emerged from the coastline, its body bristling with poisonous spikes, its head a ferocious fish‑like visage, as if mutated by radiation; each step it took made the earth tremble.

It quickly landed from the sea and began wreaking havoc nearby.

The city also sounded its alarm, beginning to guide nearby residents to evacuate.

"Gesura King?" Tianliuhai beheld the full form of the sea monster Gesura King in his rearview mirror.

"Huh?" Lingmuyu's eyes widened in shock.

"Don't be afraid, the monster is still some distance away," Tianliuhai said, seeing Lingmuyu's expression and offering comfort.

"No, senior, the area the monster is destroying looks just where the bakery is—judging by the damage, the bakery is probably gone!" Lingmuyu spoke through clenched teeth: "That bakery supplies bread for the children, and it's so delicious—damn monster…"

Tianliuhai fell silent.

Then he grew doubtful as well.

How could Ultraman Diga TV feature a Gesura King sea monster?

Even in Ultraman Ace TV, a Gesura King sea monster shouldn't appear, right?

What is going on?

I can't make sense of it.

Tianliuhai felt that events were unfolding in an unexpected direction.

Because of Gesura King's appearance, they, far away in Yokohama, also began emergency evacuations.

The bread originally destined for the orphanage was forced to stop.

Now the orphanage children should also have gone to evacuate, right?

"Senior, let's go help too." Looking at the chaotic scene, although police were assisting with evacuations, the crowd was too large and clearly shorthanded.

She and Tianliuhai, as TPC members, though only in logistics, were elite compared to ordinary people; TPC's selection is never easy, even for the simplest department, and having connections won't help—you still need genuine ability.

"All right." If it's just helping organize the evacuation, Tianliuhai doesn't object.

As long as he isn't forced to become Dark Diga to fight monsters, everything can be discussed.

Dagu was working overtime on his set; though it's unclear whether this was purely his set or not.

The minivan pulled over to the side of the road.

The two got out of the car and went their separate ways down different streets, cooperating with police to guide the crowds to evacuate.

When the officers saw them reveal their TPC credentials, they also stood at attention.

"Hurry, this way—don't rush, proceed in order." Tianliuhai called out, meanwhile supporting an old man leaning on a cane as they headed toward the shelter.

Elsewhere.

Lingmuyu's side.

It seems a small mishap has occurred.

A little boy absolutely refuses to evacuate.

His gaze fixed on a tall building near Gesila King.

He wants to go over.

Although blocked by the police, he simply refuses to leave.

Lingmuyu, seeing this, walked forward and asked: "Little friend, why won't you go evacuate? This place is quite dangerous."

"Pigeons, there are still pigeons on the rooftop; I want to open the cage and set them free." the boy said stubbornly.
