Chapter 201: Ghost Hitting the Wall

~7 min read 1,266 words

The prisoners in the dungeon watched Luka easily break the arm-thick cell door pillars, and instead of calling for help, they all shrank into the corners of their cells.

But none of this could attract Luka's attention; compared to these sloppy and dirty prisoners, he cared more about the screams outside the iron door.

"Behind that..."

Unfortunately, Luka was interrupted by Weituo before he could finish speaking.

"Don't go over there; behind that is a small altar for turning ghouls, and behind that is a huge underground cave, full of these fucking monsters, countless of them, and there's a big one!"

Luka walked over, a bit puzzled.

Shouldn't Travelers who encounter such transcendent-related events actively participate? After all, only by participating can one obtain extraordinary harvests.

"Hey! Hey! Luka, let's run quickly! There are only disgusting monsters like ghouls behind there, no benefits."

As soon as Weituo finished speaking, Luka, who had walked to the iron door, saw a cold light strike from the small window above.

"Clang~"

A black claw, still carrying disgusting mucus and blood, slammed heavily into the iron door and was firmly stuck by the iron bars on the iron window.

Even so, the monster behind the iron door was still issuing terrifying roars, constantly scratching at the iron door, trying to tear Luka behind the door to shreds and devour him.

Frowning slightly, Luka looked down and saw that the iron door in front of him was not locked, but there was an iron pin constantly swinging left and right, hit by the monster behind the door.

Without hesitation, Luka reached out and opened the iron door.

The ghoul behind the door roared and rushed out, but in the blink of an eye, it was firmly held by Luka's palm on its face.

"Boom!"

The monster was pressed by its face and slammed hard into the ground; its skull shattered, and blood splashed everywhere.

After the ghoul's limbs twitched a few times, it stopped moving.

Weituo and Salvatore, who were supporting each other, looked blankly at this scene.

They didn't expect that Luka, who was only one tier higher than the two of them, could solve a ghoul with one hand just by relying on the power of his flesh.

Ignoring the two's surprise, Luka picked up the Entry on the ground, looked at this ghoul with a bulging belly, and then looked up at the blood-stained corpses torn apart on both sides of the passage ahead.

All the corpses had been disemboweled and were hanging on small altars with iron chains, all tattered.

Luka instantly understood that this was indeed a small factory for cultivating ghouls.

"This passage leads to the cave you just mentioned?"

Looking at the weak duo supporting each other behind him, Luka frowned and took an iron rod from his personal space.

Calling it an iron rod wasn't quite right; it should be said to be an iron pillar.

The iron pillar was chest-high, with a circle of short, thick iron chains wrapped around each end, and the entire iron pillar was engraved with dense runes; clearly, this was a totem pole made by Luka himself.

Luka pressed his hand on the top of the totem pole, and some runes on the pillar began to light up with a pale green light.

Following Luka's fingers, the runes flew off the pillar and swirled around Weituo and the other.

"Yes, that's a huge underground cave. Countless ghouls are devouring corpses there; it should be the breeding ground for the Queen, that old witch."

With Luka's healing, the two instantly felt their strength gradually recovering.

But thinking of the Ghoul King in the cave, Salvatore still reminded him.

"There's nothing there except ghouls and corpses; it's not a place worth exploring."

Luka nodded; now that he had lost his handy warhammer and only using this totem pole he made himself would reduce his combat power by more than half, there was indeed no need to take risks for some ghoul-related Entries.

The runes extinguished and dissipated, and Weituo and Salvatore were already able to stand normally.

Weituo took out a pile of various potions from his personal space at the first opportunity and drank them after sharing them with Salvatore.

"Sal, these potions aren't given to you for free; they have to be paid for!"

Seeing that the two had recovered, Luka lifted the iron chain on the totem pole with one hand, carried it on his back, and walked toward the direction he came in with large strides.

And Weituo and Salvatore looked at each other and followed.

Perhaps this unknown expert is a plot character!

Perhaps he was pointed here to save these two idiots!

Clearly not!

When Luka led Weituo and the other past the torture room with the large pot for the second time, Luka knew he had guessed wrong.

Turning to look at the open iron door, the ghoul corpses lying on the ground were still so disgusting and cruel.

"Weituo, tell me about that cave!"

"Huh?!"

"Can't we not go? There's a big monster there that's particularly terrifying; we can't beat it!"

"Slap!"

Salvatore slapped the back of Weituo's head.

"What are you doing! Why hit me! Pay me back, pay me back for the medicine, kindness treated as a donkey's lungs!"

And Salvatore ignored the twitching Weituo, turning instead to tell Luka in detail about the experience the two of them had in the cave.

"A more powerful Ghoul King?"

Luka muttered to himself, weighing his current combat power.

Clearly, the expert who hadn't appeared was forcing him to deal with that monster.

But why?

If these ghouls were raised by the Queen, then this expert shouldn't be a Traveler from the Queen's camp, and clearly couldn't be a Traveler from their own side.

It seems there is no such powerful plot character prototype in Snow White's fairytale!

After leading Weituo and the other through the cell again, Luka gritted his teeth with an ugly face and headed toward the cave passage.

Sure enough, this time he didn't circle in place anymore.

Weituo and Salvatore also understood that this matter was not something Luka could decide, and their faces were equally ugly.

They thought they had waited for a savior, but didn't expect the savior to be an old ox being led by the nose by someone else.

"Step! Step! Step!"

The three walked with their heads down, and even the most talkative Weituo didn't have the mood to talk; he didn't think that adding Luka would allow the three of them to beat that Ghoul King, let alone the countless small ghouls.

Luka, who was walking in the front, suddenly stopped.

"Have you... seen these things here before?"

Weituo and the other took two quick steps, and were shocked by the scene in front of them.

Patches of moss covered the entire passage ahead, whether it was the ceiling or the ground, all emitting a faint light, illuminating the entire passage in a greenish glow.

Looking deeper, the variety of plants became more and more numerous.

All kinds of strange branches, serrated green grass, and strange flowers almost filled the entire passage.

"No... impossible! We... no no... where did these plants come from?"

Even a fool could tell that the situation was very wrong.

Turning to look, the passage they came from had disappeared, and Weituo ran back unwillingly to touch it.

It was indeed a wall of soil and stone.

"Gulp!"

The sound of Weituo swallowing his saliva was so obvious in this quiet environment. ===== CHAPTER 202 =====
