Chapter 203: Curiosity
Moluo's gaze toward Yun Li was filled with an appreciative smile. "That said, Yun Li Adult is indeed quite extraordinary."
Yun Li had heard plenty of praise over the years, and at these words only smiled faintly — after all, the Tribe's current state was still nothing much, who knows how far behind it was compared to modern times.
"Moluo, you asked so many questions just now — did you find out what you wanted to know?"
"Just call me Moluo. I hardly qualify as an 'Adult' before Yun Li Adult."
Moluo could tell that Yun Li was still somewhat annoyed with him over what A Lian and the others had said, but a female getting angry not only lacked any real bite — she also looked unexpectedly cute.
So his attitude toward Yun Li was quite accommodating. Seeing her frowning at him, heaven knows what she was thinking, he couldn't help but laugh. "You don't need to look at me like that. I actually didn't ask them anything too probing."
He had merely figured out that they weren't originally from this Tribe, that the two hundred-plus beastmen were now more or less under this female's management, and how the name of this Small Flat Mountain came about — that was all.
It was just a pity that these beastmen didn't have a very clear understanding of what they were doing with their own hands, otherwise he could have extracted even more from them.
Hearing Moluo's words, A Lian and the others all wore expressions of wanting to say something but hesitating.
Yun Li caught a glimpse of their expressions from the corner of her eye, and the corner of her mouth couldn't help but twitch slightly. Her gaze toward Moluo grew even more guarded.
"This isn't a place to talk. Do you have other business, Moluo? If not, let's take a walk nearby. Since you're already here, you might as well look around more."
Because she didn't know exactly what A Lian and the others had told Moluo, Yun Li could only step in herself and see if she could extract some useful information from Moluo as well.
Moluo readily agreed to this.
And Luosai, behind him, seeing the two of them walking away, tactfully fell several steps behind to follow them.
A Lian and her Beast Husbands looked at each other, feeling somewhat uneasy about Yun Li leaving their line of sight with two outsider beastmen, so they split into two groups.
One group had two people catch up with Yun Li and the others, while the other went to find the nearby Patrol Team — if anything happened to Yun Li, the beastmen of the Patrol Team could rush over as quickly as possible.
"I hear your Tribe's clothes are all made from plants?"
Moluo proactively tossed out a topic, and Yun Li picked it up quite naturally. "No choice — there's not much else near the Tribe except weeds. After coming to this Tribe, I found that everyone's strength wasn't much to speak of, and they couldn't survive on hunting and the Tribe's provisions alone, so we just had to think of other ways."
"Is that so. Then Yun Li Adult is very impressive — what are just ordinary weeds, yet Yun Li Adult turned them into clothes."
Yun Li glanced at Moluo, thinking to herself that this male was truly cunning and wouldn't fall for her tricks at all.
So if indirect probing was useless, she might as well ask directly. "A Lian said you came from outside the Heiyan Shanmai. The good things out there must be far more plentiful than in our Tribe, I'd imagine?"
Moluo smiled. "That depends on what kind of things can be called good things. Like the clothes your Tribe makes — though they can't compare to those made by the beastmen of the Sang Tribe, they have the advantage of simple materials."
"If they appeared outside, I imagine quite a few beastmen would be interested in these clothes."
"Really?"
Yun Li looked down and thought for a moment, then asked, "Then what are the clothes made by the beastmen of the Sang Tribe like?"
Moluo pondered for a moment. "Smooth and lustrous, very comfortable to wear. Because almost every beastman of the Sang Tribe has such fine craftsmanship, their days on the continent aren't very easy."
"Huh?"
Yun Li cast a puzzled look at Moluo. "Why?"
With such fine craftsmanship, they still couldn't secure a foothold on the continent?
Moluo smiled faintly. "Good things invite covetousness, and they simply don't have enough strength to protect themselves."
Yun Li's face immediately showed surprise and regret. "So that's how it is. What a pity."
Moluo noticed that although the female beside him voiced regret, her emotions didn't fluctuate much.
Was it because it didn't concern her, so after the surprise there was nothing more or more intense?
For some reason, Moluo felt a thread of curiosity about this female.
He very much wanted to know — if she learned that two rather large nomadic Tribes had heard some news and were now heading toward their Tribe to find them — would she still remain as composed as she was now?
……
On the other side, the Priest of the Youbuluo was sitting in the seat Ke Si had previously occupied, looking at Chang Yue and Teng Fei standing to one side, and asked:
"Where is he? Wasn't it said he was going to become a father? What, has he still not considered formally forming a Mate Bond with his female?"
Hearing the You Priest's words, Teng Fei instantly showed an awkward expression on his face. He glanced at Chang Yue and gave him a light nudge.
Chang Yue frowned slightly at his little gesture, but still stepped forward and replied, "The Witch Doctor Adult went out. We don't know when he'll be back."
As for the matter between the Witch Doctor Adult and his female, Chang Yue felt that after what happened yesterday, the chances of success seemed slim.
Unless the Witch Doctor Adult was willing to bow his head to Yun Li — but was that possible?
"Hmm? Went out?"
The You Priest rested his chin on his hand and said, "Did something happen? Did he and his female quarrel? And the Mate Bond is off too?"
Hearing this, Teng Fei immediately looked at the You Priest with a "the Priest Adult predicts things like a god" expression. "Something did happen yesterday, indeed."
Seeing that the You Priest was interested, he hurriedly recounted everything that had happened yesterday and everything Yun Li had said to the You Priest in full detail.
After listening, the You Priest's face only showed a "just as expected" expression. "Sure enough — even with a female he likes, he's still that same temper."
"But in that case, does he plan to slink back to the Tribe on his own after a few days? If so, some of the Clan Leader's plans will fall through."
Clan Leader?
Chang Yue and Teng Fei exchanged a glance, neither understanding what the You Priest meant by those words.
However, the You Priest clearly had no intention of explaining to them. As time passed bit by bit with no sign of Ke Si returning, he too lost patience.
"Since he's not here, I'll go attend to other matters."
It so happened that he also wanted to meet the female who had transformed the Silver Eagle Tribe and the Youbuluo into what they were today — A Ruo kept thinking about her even within the Tribe.
Sigh~ How frustrating!
What could you do when your own female was always thinking about another female — and that female was genuinely worth thinking about, to boot.
Why couldn't Ke Si try a bit harder, find a way to grip that female's heart tightly in his palm, so that the Youbuluo wouldn't have to settle for drinking soup behind the Silver Eagle Tribe every time.
