Chapter 216: Pulling
Yun Li: "…Is this paranoia?"
The Patrol Team's orcs have never encountered this kind of orc who can't understand human speech, and the captain's face darkened with anger.
"Do you know what you're saying? How could we inexplicably want to kill anyone?"
Qing Zhi was stunned by his retort, then for some unknown reason his face went pale and he lowered his head.
Yun Li, standing behind the captain, noticed this and a flash of puzzlement crossed her mind.
But soon, the male Zao who earlier had his wrist broken by her spoke up, drawing all the orcs' attention: "We can't blame ourselves for thinking that way, after all my wrist was just broken by Yun Li Adult."
"We only wanted to say a few words to Yun Li Adult, yet she chose to misunderstand us and even summoned so many people."
"I thought maybe…" The Silver Eagle Tribe doesn't welcome them.
Only the rest of his words hadn't been finished when Yun Li interrupted, "Go fetch Ming, have him check his wrist, then, in front of all the orcs, politely ask them to leave the tribe."
When they are able to understand our words, then allow them to enter.
Hearing Yun Li's order, the captain, not wanting to tangle further with this group of orcs, immediately turned his head toward the nearest orc beside him.
The orc, receiving the captain's signal, instantly turned to find Witch Doctor Ming.
A few people were bewildered by Yun Li's maneuver, but after regaining composure, the orcs beside Zao immediately began to shout.
"What does this mean for you?"
"As you wish, since you think our tribe's hospitality is poor, you may now go down the mountain."
"Of course, I broke his wrist rather neatly, so until his wound heals, our tribe will see it through."
After speaking, Yun Li said to the captain, "Captain Feng, it's up to you here. After I leave, you will safely escort them down the mountain, then tell the person in charge about today's events."
"If there is any discontent, tell him he may come up to find me at any time."
Whether they have time to listen to him, that depends on Yun Li's mood.
"Wait."
What on earth is she saying? Even if they're not angry right now, they shouldn't so cleanly and decisively send them out of the tribe, right?
Does their tribe not want the things they brought?
Everyone was a bit panicked; Yun Li's handling was too unexpected, none of the anticipated scenarios occurred, so they instinctively tried to block Yun Li.
No matter what, they can't let her just leave like that.
"What do you intend to do?"
Captain Feng placed his men in front of Zao, and subtly signaled the outermost orc to escort Yun Li away.
"Yun Li! How dare you do this to us—aren't you afraid we will stop trading with your tribe?"
Yun Li, hearing the voice from behind, didn't turn her head; instead she instructed the nearby orc, "Tell Captain Feng to keep an eye on them, don't let anything happen to them down the mountain, and also watch their interactions with other small‑tribe orcs down there, so they don't exploit a loophole, harm people, and frame us."
The orc beside her didn't understand Yun Li's last words, but nodded, indicating he got it.
When Yun Li arrived at the Priest's place, she saw the Ghost Priest and the Priest sitting opposite each other at a stone table in the courtyard, playing Go.
"A Li"
Sensing someone approach, Mu Qing and Ji Xuan, who were watching the game, instantly turned toward them.
"Shh"
Yun Li made a shushing gesture toward them, then stepped between the two and looked at the board.
The black and white stones on the board crisscrossed, yet the situation was almost a one‑sided collapse; after one or two more moves, the Priest would likely be forced into a dead end.
"Clack"
As the final stone dropped, the Priest's black stones lost any chance of turning the tide.
"Impressive! Priest, you actually lost."
If she's not mistaken, the Priest should have been learning Go for half a year, yet he lost to the Ghost Priest who picked it up at some unknown time.
However, as soon as Yun Li finished speaking, the Priest threw a helpless look at her.
The Ghost Priest chuckled lightly, looked at Yun Li and said, "So, are you interested in a game with me?"
"No, thanks; this one strains the brain and gives me a headache."
Although she taught them this, she herself isn't good at Go; if it were Chinese chess, she'd gladly play a round with him.
"What about Ji Xuan, will you join?"
The Ghost Priest, fresh from a win, was clearly eager to play, and when Yun Li declined, he invited Ji Xuan.
Ji Xuan pondered for a moment, then shook his head, "Maybe next time."
The Ghost Priest then turned his gaze to Mu Qing, who replied calmly, "I'm not very good at Go; I'm good at Chinese chess."
Because the female he likes enjoys Chinese chess, he naturally put a lot of effort into it.
The Priest then said, "Although you're not good at Go, when it comes to playing Go, Ji Xuan might not be able to beat you either."
Hearing that, Yun Li looked at Mu Qing in surprise.
Mu Qing didn't deny, but explained, "Ji Xuan wins more at Go."
In Chinese chess he wins more than he loses; as for Gomoku, the few males in his household haven't tallied their win rates.
Because the rules are simple and brutal, draws occur frequently.
Yun Li nodded in understanding, then turned to the Ghost Priest, "Since the game is over, let's discuss business. The cubs must stay by my side; if they grow up and want to visit the Ghost Tribe, I won't stop them."
The Ghost Priest showed slight surprise, but after a pause he smiled and asked Yun Li, "But don't you and Ke Si have three cubs? Even if you gave us one, it shouldn't be a problem, right?"
While it's pleasing that Yun Li isn't partnered with Ke Si and is willing to raise their cubs, what can be done? He's come specifically to stir up trouble.
It's also Ke Si's own fault for being unambitious; after more than three years, he still hasn't courted a female.
Yun Li had long anticipated the Ghost Priest wouldn't concede so easily, yet hearing that, she couldn't help feeling a bit depressed.
The cubs are clearly hers; even if Ke Si is the biological father, according to the orc's default rule, cubs belong to the mother, not the father. They keep harassing her; aren't they afraid she'll, in a fit of rage, discard all three cubs, or sabotage the alliance between the two tribes?
"It won't be a big deal, but I don't want to."
Yun Li's face also wore a smile, but the smile was very courteous and distant, "If you insist on taking my young one, you can go ahead and try, and see whether I will chop you all up and feed them to ferocious beasts."
The Priest, looking at Yun Li caring so much about her young one, truly had a terrible thought arise in his mind: "Take the young one away, and lure the person to the Youbuluo."
But the Priest knew very clearly that if he truly dared to do so, it would be betting on how broad Yun Li's heart is; otherwise, even if the young one were safe in his hands, the act of abducting the young one would not be something she would simply let go.
So the thought, once it surfaced, was quickly suppressed by him.
