He extended his hand to Yun Li, letting her place her fingers on his wrist, and then, under her embarrassed glance, switched to his other hand for her to continue feeling the pulse.

Hearing that, Yun Li pondered briefly, then shook her head, "Sorry, I've wasted your time."

A look of puzzlement flashed across Cang Lang's face, then he smiled and said, "How can you say that? After all, I'm the one troubling you."

"It's my lack of skill; I probably can't help you much."

Yun Li truly felt sorry; it was her first time encountering such an odd pulse, and unlike other Witch Doctors who still had something to say, after examining it she had no clue how to proceed—well, that's just lack of skill.

In response, Cang Lang just smiled, "It's fine, I've long been used to it."

Seeing her about to leave, Ke Si grabbed her, "Where are you going?"

"What does where I'm going have to do with you? Are you my Beast Husband?"

Yun Li now tacitly allows him to get close, willing to give everyone the illusion that "they are together" so that the alliance between the two tribes can proceed smoothly, but this does not mean she wants to resolve even the most basic issues with Ke and become a lifelong partner.

If this isn't resolved, even if they become Mate Bond later, they'll only be a pair of resentful partners.
