Chapter 576 - 276: Abyss Simulation_2
"Hey, Old Huang really has a knack for things, to have so much stock left!"
One of the Awakened stepped forward in surprise, lifting a cover to reveal row upon row of neatly arranged wooden boxes. Upon opening them, he found them filled with shells! Whether armor-piercing, incendiary, or high-explosive rounds, large or small caliber, everything was there!
"But wouldn’t it be a bit wrong to take everything without saying a word?" one of the Awakened asked hesitantly.
"Don’t worry about it; getting through our current predicament is what matters," someone replied.
"Besides, since they left these things behind, it means they were no longer of use to them," Chu Xiu said.
This explanation, albeit strained, received unanimous agreement from the two Awakened. They didn’t care about the reason’s validity; they just needed a reason.
Only Aurora hesitated slightly. Chu Xiu glanced at him and said, "It’s not just these munitions; various weapons, tanks, and armored vehicles in the base, we’re taking it all with us."
"Everyone, move quickly. The sooner we return, the more time we’ll have to prepare weapons."
Under Chu Xiu’s urging, the four main warehouses were quickly emptied. When everyone regrouped, smiles lit up every face.
"We’re really set now, with over two hundred thousand various shells, and over a million ordinary machine gun bullets!"
"The only pity is that we can’t take the tanks, armed helicopters, anti-aircraft vehicles, and large fire cannons," someone sighed.
The other two Awakened were General Tier. Although their storage abilities were much stronger than those of the same tier, just transporting that many shells required at least two trips, not to mention they didn’t have space for machine gun bullets, let alone this heavy equipment.
But these pieces were immensely valuable in the post-apocalyptic world. Various fire cannons, which aren’t too demanding on processing precision and can be roughly manufactured, can still fire shells, are relatively less scarce.
But mechanical equipment like armed helicopters, requiring high industrial standards, had to be made by Extraordinary Power or relied on pre-apocalypse inventory. Each one was extremely precious.
If they could transport everything back, the base’s defense would significantly increase.
Chu Xiu frowned slightly, realizing they needed at least five trips to clear everything out. It wasn’t just a matter of travel time; the Awakened needed considerable time for "loading" and "unloading."
Finishing everything could take nearly two days.
And to maintain speed, they couldn’t avoid monster harassment en route. The noise was excessive; if detected by the enemy leading to an attack, the loss could be substantial.
"Forget it, originally I didn’t want to make this much noise, but it’s best to move everything at once before they react."
With this thought, torrents of demonic qi surged once again from Chu Xiu. The wave-like demonic qi spread rapidly, transforming into large hands that lifted the heavy equipment!
When Chu Xiu first entered General Tier, his demonic qi could surround a city area. Though it was just thin fog, his power had grown immensely, forming a giant black platform the size of a sports field!
Not only weapons and ammunition, but also various raw materials like "gunpowder" and "shell casings," were taken, alongside fuels such as oil and gasoline.
The enormous black platform, like a floating fortress, had Chu Xiu beneath it, akin to a deity holding a mountain with one hand.
This astonishing scene left Aurora and the others dumbfounded. They never imagined an Awakened could wield such power.
A thought arose unbidden in their minds: With Mr. Chu here, even millions of blood demon armies weren’t to be feared, right?
When Chu Xiu returned with the massive black "fortress," it shook the entire base, with people celebrating and spreading the news joyfully.
The entire base mobilized quickly, installing these new weapons around, and transporting ammunition and materials to suitable locations.
This batch of equipment could enhance the base’s defensive power by at least 50%.
Meanwhile, observing the busy crowd, Aurora kept a furrowed brow.
"What’s wrong, why the long face with all this equipment?"
Zhuo Ao, initially excitedly carrying a fire cannon, noticed Aurora, delegated the task to another Awakened, and came over to inquire.
"Brother Zhuo...don’t you feel something’s different about everyone?" Aurora hesitated.
"Different?" Zhuo Ao was taken aback, scanning the surroundings. "Are you saying a blood demon spy infiltrated? I haven’t noticed anything different."
"Not spies, it’s..." Aurora agonized for a while before laughing self-deprecatingly, "Maybe I’m overthinking it. It just feels that some people seem unfamiliar. Usually, when I return, little Die is the first to greet me, but just now she only cheered amongst the crowd."
Zhuo Ao shot her a puzzled look: "I say, our Saintess, maybe you’re just too tired lately? Isn’t such behavior normal? Maybe the girl has been busy lately."
