Potency Lures
Edrick definitely underestimated how much of a sensation the birth of Simis was for great clans. Not only did his own clan immediately show an interest, but the other great clans also wanted to see the Kindred Simis. This resulted in him finally meeting with Ku Xing and Ting Zhenniao again. They had come with their Allinas, but also other people from their clans whom Edrick had never seen before.
As such, he was unfortunately not able to spend quality time with either of them... But he did get to meet with the two offspring he had secretly fathered. They were a few months old at this point, and were adorable little things who definitely looked a lot more like their Valras than they did their Valdre.
If anything, they looked like miniature versions of their Valras… Ku Xing definitely looked a bit off while carrying a young spawnling around... She definitely didn’t have the look of a Valra at all. She had spent most of her life without ever getting pregnant, after all. She had completely missed the window for Valrahood that most women in great clans would take before pushing their cultivation to higher levels and thus beginning to lose fertility.
On the other hand, Ting Zhenniao suited the bill just fine, especially with her hair down like she currently had. It was frankly difficult for Anoteros not to at least run his fingers through her hair. It just looked like she was begging for another offspring from him with the way she would glance and smile his way.
‘What a tease this woman is…’
Edrick couldn’t help but shake his head. She was doing all of this while her husband was right there…
Qiang Futou.
If Anoteros didn’t have the knowledge that his procreative tool was inadequate to please a woman, he definitely would have been even more impressed than he already was.
This guy was huge beyond belief–Taller and wider than even Anoteros. However, considering that the Futou family was known for practising a technique called ‘Cursed Axe Arts Of Asterion’, with Asterion being the name of a legendary minotaur, his stature was to be expected. In Edrick's former world, Asterion was actually THE Minotaur, being the name given to the one from Greek mythology…
So naturally, it wasn’t too weird for a Futou who got to marry into a great clan despite not being in one himself, to be built like a minotaur. He was definitely a great cultivator and extremely powerful, but… It was a bit hard to take him fully seriously when you knew that he couldn’t satisfy his own wife–To the point that she had once said that she wasn’t even certain if he had enough length for his man-tool to actually reach deep enough for his seed to get to her womb.
It was this bad.
Frankly, Edrick didn’t know why someone as talented in cultivation wouldn’t just get a technique to grow the size of the lower brain… Or is it that he was born in this way, on top of having a natural lack of talent in this kind of technique specifically?
…And how come the minotaur build did not also involve a minotaur oversized man-meat? It was quite odd to Edrick…
Regardless, Qiang Futou didn’t notice a thing about his wife’s behaviour toward a much younger man–Whom she was coincidentally around within the timeframe during which she could have gotten pregnant… Surely, he didn’t believe that a young, still ‘weak’ cultivator could have the potency to impregnate a senior cultivator like his wife.
In any case, although brief and centered around his offspring, Edrick did get to meet people from most of the great clans, and even some from sub-clans as well. He didn’t really get to know them, but even small interactions were good to build up a reputation. And if anything, this event would make his name quite well-known. Especially since it was also already known that he held quite a few bloodlines–Including some very rare ones… Actually, Anoteros wouldn’t be surprised if the point of these visits had really been to gauge him directly.
There was no way they could have restrained their curiosity when they knew that they were talking with someone who had dominated the bloodline of the Chen… But they were masterful at hiding their expressions and thoughts. Therefore, even if they were shocked when they discovered the composite bloodline on top of what they had heard about, they didn’t show it in the least.
The only great clan that didn’t show up was the Sanpur clan, but that was to be expected with their hermit-like tendencies and secretive manners. If Edrick got even more bloodlines, though… They might become interested.
In any case, for him who came from a much different world, seeing the Simis quickly go from being born to looking like babies who were months old was quite off-putting. The combination of his superior seed and their Valra’s own specificities had created two little things that were growing at a clearly accelerated rate.
Of course, it would still take them about the same number of years as regular spawnlings to actually be their own people. However, it was clear that they would nonetheless have quite a bit of advance on the others within their age range.
Right now, Bertian and Milda were either just spending their time sitting on the ground, curiously investigating everything around them, sleeping, or gulping down Fanqia’s milk like they had spatial storage in their stomachs… Those little rascals would even try to get milk from the Nursery Maids whenever they got within range of their breasts–And although Muxing might be producing some milk, she wasn’t a factory like Fanqia. She needed to keep hers for her own offspring, which would definitely have quite the appetite…
Edrick had expected not to care much for his newborns, but although he didn’t like interacting with them very much, he did find himself watching over them often. He had the reassurance that the Nursery Maids all had qualifications and bore maid crests, so they were doing everything they could for the Simis. There was no need to worry on this front.
Nonetheless, Fanqia was still the person they spent the most time with. The switch after they were born was immediately noticeable. Her motherly instincts went into total overdrive. It was to the point that she would actually skip sleeping in the bedchambers with her husband just to stay with Bertian and Milda.
Anoteros didn’t mind. It was normal for her to feel the need to be present as much as possible. And if anything, that should promote good growth for the Simis. The only problem was that she would drag him into it–And while he found those little things deeply uninteresting and often annoying, he knew that it was best for children to have a male figure in their lives.
…And apart from him, there wasn’t anyone who could fulfil that role in this residence.
Linmin gushed over the babies like a woman, and even the Simis seemed to be under the impression that he was one, judging by the fact that they grabbed onto the fabric covering his chest, as though expecting milk to be hidden under.
In any case, while watching them experience peek-a-boo with Muxing, Anoteros received a visit from someone in the clan.
“Mmh… I can see that that seed of yours is quite potent, heh?”
