Chapter 101: Blood Meals

~10 min read 1,949 words

On the Origin Continent lies a vast, frigid ice plain known as the Heavenly Pole Ice Plain. Its territory is so expansive it rivals that of the Flame Wind Ancient Nation. Yet its environment is brutal, and the number of cultivators there is less than one percent of those in the Flame Wind Ancient Nation.

In the Heavenly Pole Ice Plain, there are no nations—only scattered factions.

“Huh.” The Nine Jiang Marquis’s avatar gazed at the icy metropolis before him: “Juefeng City.”

Juefeng City was a major metropolis, entirely constructed of ice, its population several times greater than that of Huyang City.

In the Heavenly Pole Ice Plain, only within cities were there enough cultivators; outside… tribes were nearly nonexistent, their survival impossible under such harsh conditions.

“Finally, Juefeng the Great Sage has emerged from seclusion.” The Nine Jiang Marquis had received word and came again to pay his respects.

Within the towering city, at its center stood a vast cavern dwelling—the residence of Juefeng the Great Sage, lord of the city.

“Nine Jiang Marquis, please enter.” A permanent true god attendant personally guided him at the cavern’s entrance.

Soon, they arrived at a grand hall.

“Come, come, Brother Nine Jiang, sit.” A massive figure with deep blue-black skin grinned, “I’ve been in seclusion, kept you waiting too long.”

“Your cultivation is the most important matter,” the Nine Jiang Marquis smiled in flattery.

The ones he sought aid from were all figures equal to Liu Yin Marquis!

Juefeng the Great Sage lived freely, refusing to join any nation. He seized control of a great city, ruled over hundreds of millions of cultivators, cultivated in comfort—and no one dared provoke him.

In strength, Juefeng the Great Sage was equal to Liu Yin Marquis—a peak Chaotic Realm existence.

In background, Juefeng the Great Sage had once been a nominal disciple of an Emperor of the Flame Wind Ancient Nation. But with too many elites gathered there, competition fierce, he ultimately chose to leave and become a free Chaotic Great Sage in the Heavenly Pole Ice Plain.

“Hah! Nine Jiang, you always speak so sweetly.” Juefeng the Great Sage grinned, “Speak then—what do you want from me?”

The Nine Jiang Marquis set down his cup. “Brother Juefeng, my neighbor, Liu Yin Marquis, is now plotting to seize my fief…”

“I’ve heard of your troubles,” Juefeng the Great Sage nodded. “Liu Yin is cruel and tyrannical. It’s strange he hasn’t bullied you yet.”

The Nine Jiang Marquis’s face stiffened. “I have no confidence I can resist him. That’s why I’ve come seeking aid. If Brother Juefeng is willing to help, name your price.”

Juefeng the Great Sage gripped his massive azure-gold cup, drained it, then spoke: “Even within your Yu Nation, no Chaotic Realm cultivator would aid you, right?”

The Nine Jiang Marquis nodded. “Correct. Within our Yu Nation, few can match Liu Yin. Even the sovereign struggles to mobilize them. How could I possibly persuade them?”

“Of course you can’t!”

Juefeng the Great Sage set down his cup. “After enduring countless hardships to reach the Chaotic Realm, who would risk their life for you? If you offered a Divine King weapon or similar treasure, perhaps you could attract aid. But do you possess such a treasure?”

“No,” the Nine Jiang Marquis said.

“You say ‘name your price,’ yet you can’t produce real treasures—who would die for you against Liu Yin?” Juefeng the Great Sage shook his head. “Who is Liu Yin? Cruel, tyrannical, vengeful to the extreme. A peak Chaotic Realm cultivator who may break through to Divine King status at any moment.”

“Fight such a being? You ask with empty words?” Juefeng the Great Sage sneered. “Nine Jiang, you’ve handled this poorly.”

“Brother Juefeng, I know the treasures I can offer are few,” the Nine Jiang Marquis sighed. “But my fief is at stake—I have no choice.”

“Your fief holds three major cities and one hundred eighty-nine ordinary cities,” Juefeng the Great Sage mocked. “If I help you defend it, I claim two major cities and one hundred ordinary cities—forever. Their cultivator residence fees belong to me. Will you accept?”

The Nine Jiang Marquis felt humiliated.

Would he be left with only Jiujing City and a few ordinary cities?

A top-tier Chaotic Realm cultivator, even without ambition, could easily seize a major city.

If he fought Liu Yin at all costs, only to be left with so little—what was the point?

“See? You can’t bear to give it up.”

Juefeng the Great Sage shook his head. “Fief disputes aren’t fleeting—they’re enduring. You’re making an eternal enemy of Liu Yin. Without sufficient reward, no one will help you. Come, let’s drop the matter—drink.”

The Nine Jiang Marquis could only drink in gloom.

A full eon had passed.

He had hoped his many friends might lend him a powerful ally.

But when it came to fighting Liu Yin, not one would come!

Outside Huyang City.

Whoosh.

Blood-red flames coalesced, forming Liu Yin Marquis’s avatar.

“Last time, in the battle for Huyang City, Nine Jiang should have realized he couldn’t win against an Eternal-tier army,” Liu Yin Marquis gazed across at the city. “That’s why he’s been traveling everywhere, begging for allies.”

Liu Yin Marquis had heard of Nine Jiang’s visits to various strongholds.

“A full eon has passed. Nine Jiang must see the truth by now. I bet he couldn’t secure a single ally.” Liu Yin Marquis was confident—confidence forged over eons.

He had always been cruel and tyrannical. Even peers hesitated before intervening, weighing the cost.

“Even if he brings allies, there must be a victor,” Liu Yin Marquis thought.

He waited patiently because even if his Eternal-tier army won and temporarily seized the three major cities, once Nine Jiang summoned reinforcements, he’d still have to fight personally.

Better to wait, let the situation clarify.

Perhaps Nine Jiang, realizing his weakness, would simply surrender—yield his fief without a fight.

“Yan,” Liu Yin Marquis transmitted his order.

“Father.” In Huyang City, within the Xin Ying Gate’s base, Liu Yin Yan heard his father’s voice.

“Contact your senior brothers and sisters. Summon the two Snow Realm Envoys as well,” Liu Yin Marquis transmitted. “Once your seniors arrive and preparations are complete, initiate the assault. I suspect… this time, Nine Jiang will retreat willingly.”

“Yes, Father!” Liu Yin Yan rejoiced.

Inside Huyang City.

Upon receiving his father’s command, the blood-robed youth Liu Yin Yan rejoiced and immediately contacted his senior brothers and sisters.

“The war between my Liu Yin Chaotic Domain and Nine Jiang Chaotic Domain has reached its final stage. My father believes Nine Jiang knows he cannot win and will likely surrender,” Liu Yin Yan transmitted. “I beg your aid—join me in assaulting Nine Jiang’s army formation.”

“Master has ordered it—we shall assist.” “Brother, rest assured. We’ll arrive as swiftly as possible.”

With the Snow Realm Ancestor’s approval, the other two Snow Realm Envoys had already prepared. Upon Liu Yin Marquis’s call, they would rush to aid at once.

After the transmission ended.

Liu Yin Yan was elated.

“Young Master, if Lord says Nine Jiang will surrender, this battle will go smoothly,” the black-armored general beside him also grinned with anticipation.

“What can Nine Jiang possibly do against my father?” Liu Yin Yan laughed. “My senior brothers and sisters are arriving soon—I must prepare food for them.”

“Prepare food?” The black-armored general’s eyes lit up.

He had trained under the young master in the Snow Realm—he knew exactly what “food” meant.

“Don’t worry—I’ll share some with you,” Liu Yin Yan glanced at his subordinate.

“Thank you, Young Master!” The black-armored general beamed.

Liu Yin Yan waved his hand, and a model of Huyang City appeared before him. He studied it, then pointed to one district: “Huyang City holds countless cultivators. This is the Fengyi District—roughly ten billion cultivators reside here. A fitting offering for my seniors.”

!

“Let’s go.”

Liu Yin Yan led his retinue, riding the Snow Realm Envoy in silence as they slipped away from the Xin Ying base.

A single Snow Realm Envoy could not crush Nine Jiang’s army. But merely defending itself? Effortless.

Even Luo Feng’s displayed strength could not overcome a Snow Realm Envoy.

Huh.

The Snow Realm Envoy left the Xin Ying domain and headed straight for Huyang City’s Fengyi District.

“Did Young Master Yan leave the base?” The Xin Ying Gate’s master and the Eighteen Elders swiftly received word.

“We only need to monitor the Lord’s mansion. The Snow Realm Envoy moves freely—no one can threaten him,” the Xin Ying Gate master ordered. The other elders understood—they had no authority to interfere with the Snow Realm Envoy.

Huh!

The Snow Realm Envoy took only a few steps, traversing space to appear above the Fengyi District.

At this moment, cultivators in the Fengyi District had all hidden indoors, afraid to venture out.

Huyang City was now a nest of panic. The Lord’s mansion’s array enveloped the entire city; Xin Ying Gate’s array rippled outward like waves, filling ordinary cultivators with dread.

“How long will this fight last?”

“Whoever rules Huyang City will demand residence fees. We just need to survive this storm.”

Indeed, the Fengyi District held roughly ten billion cultivators—all enduring in silence.

To flee the city now meant risking annihilation from the clash of two great forces’ arrays. Within the residential zones, protected by arrays, they might still survive minor ripples.

“Ten billion blood meals.” The Snow Realm Envoy, pure white as snow, holy and immaculate, gazed downward. One arm extended, its palm rapidly swelling to colossal size.

The snow-white palm blotted out the entire sky above the Fengyi District, descending to grasp it.

“Hmm?”

This massive disturbance naturally drew attention.

Whether it was General Yue Wu, controlling the great array; Di Chu Yu of the Flame Wind Guild, observing the whole city; or Luo Feng and Mo Luo Sa, both at the Chaotic Sovereign level—they all saw it at once.

“What is he doing?” Mo Luo Sa was stunned.

“Snow Realm Envoy?” Luo Feng watched.

The Snow Realm Ancestor had once attained Divine King status through the Blood Line of the Life Dao.

Blood was profoundly mysterious.

It contained infinite information; possessing strong bloodlines accelerated cultivation. Mo Luo Sa had even advanced his own evolution by absorbing powerful bloodline data.

The Snow Realm Ancestor had fully mastered the Blood Line path and even begun cultivating other branches of the Life Dao.

To practice the Blood Line’s secret arts, Snow Realm cultivators preferred capturing “blood meals”—a vital resource for their cultivation.

“To seize every living being in the Fengyi District? Again, blood meals?” Luo Feng, who also comprehended the Life Dao, knew well that collecting mere blood sufficed for Blood Line cultivation.

Directly capturing and long-term breeding for blood extraction was merely for convenience.

Those blood livestock long kept and bled out suffered terribly, far worse than death itself.

“Coming to my front to seize blood livestock?” Luo Feng lightly shook his head and vanished into thin air, leaving Mo Luo Sa stunned, then burning with longing: “My master acts as he pleases—when will I ever be so free and unrestrained?”

“Boom—boom—boom~~~”

The Snow Realm Envoy’s snow-white palm obscured the sky of Fengyi District, filling its billion inhabitants with terror; the protective arrays of Fengyi District’s settlements shattered effortlessly before that snow-white palm.

“No!”

“It’s over.”

“Why are you targeting us?”

“We’re merely True Gods.”

The billion inhabitants offered no resistance, watching in despair.

Suddenly—

Plop!

A hand emerged from the void and pierced the chest of the snow-white “Snow Realm Envoy.”

——

Thank you to our two new Alliance Lords: Ta Xue Ling Feng Er and Dong Bo Feng.
