Chapter 106: The Two Factions of the Origin Continent
Upon hearing this, Marquis Jiang smiled: “Fine, I’ll follow Brother Luohe’s lead.”
He secretly marveled: this Brother Luohe had only an old servant and a disciple close to him—his actions carried no constraints, truly enviable. Fortunately, such a peak Chaotic Realm existence was his friend.
“Huyang City is yours, Brother Luohe,” said Marquis Jiang. “I still need to report to the State Lord. Primarily, the five families who once managed the city governor’s mansion require resettlement.”
“Then I’m in your debt, Marquis Jiang,” Luo Feng nodded.
As they spoke, the fates of all factions in Huyang City were settled.
……
Inside Huyang City, the Heart Shadow Sect was now in panic.
“Lord Liuyin has retreated—what do we do?” The sect master, the Eighteen Elders, and Qiu Yi were all unsettled, for their lives now rested entirely in Marquis Jiang’s hands.
“What can we do? Both Lord Luohe and Marquis Jiang are within the city—we have no strength to resist. We can only submit to their judgment.”
“Given our two Ancestors’ status, they might spare our lives. But our treasures? They’ll surely be seized.”
They were discussing this among themselves.
Suddenly—
A ripple of void energy swept across the entire Heart Shadow Sect’s compound; every single Eternal True God within, defenseless, was instantly teleported away.
“Where are we?”
“We’ve been captured?”
When they looked around, they found themselves inside a vast prison.
The Heart Shadow Sect master and others all understood: being captured without resistance via void teleportation meant Marquis Jiang himself had acted.
Inside the prison, Jiang Yuyou, one of Marquis Jiang’s elite bodyguard commanders, stood coldly beside Mo Luo Sa and Mo Yu Qingyan, surveying the thousands of Eternal True Gods before him.
“By order of Lord Luohe, we are investigating the Heart Shadow Sect’s plundering and massacre of Huyang City’s citizens,” Jiang Yuyou declared.
At these words, the Heart Shadow Sect’s Eternal True Gods trembled.
Investigating plundering and massacre?
“Ancestors, we’ve been captured alive by Lord Luohe and Marquis Jiang—now they’re investigating our plundering? What should we do?” The sect master contacted his two Chaotic Realm Ancestors.
“Endure.”
“At this moment, the Heart Shadow Sect cannot afford to provoke Lord Luohe!”
The two Ancestors’ replies were brief—one terse, the other slightly explanatory.
“Just let them kill us?” the sect master pressed. Were the Ancestors truly watching helplessly?
One Ancestor severed the communication entirely.
“It depends on whether Lord Luohe shows mercy,” replied the other Ancestor, then cut off the link.
Both Chaotic Realm Ancestors were exhausted.
Last time, Heart Shadow Sect disciples had recklessly abused their power, accidentally killing a bloodline descendant of Nine Sources Great Saint—prompting Nine Sources Great Saint to come and slaughter them. One Ancestor died then; the other two barely escaped.
Nine Sources Great Saint, at least, had many reservations.
But Lord Luohe? He defeated Lord Liuyin—and has few attachments. If we provoke him further, one of us two Ancestors may die again.
“Ancestors… Ancestors…”
No matter how hard the sect master tried to reach them, both Ancestors had severed all communication.
“By order of Lord Luohe, the Heart Shadow Sect as a whole is guilty of plundering and massacre. The sect shall be dissolved—disband immediately.” Jiang Yuyou spoke. “All disciples who participated in plundering or massacre shall be executed without mercy.”
The thousands of Eternal True Gods present trembled with fear.
The sect gone—now they’d be slaughtered?
“Those who only followed orders to plunder, but did not massacre, may receive lighter punishment,” Jiang Yuyou added.
“Lighter punishment?” Many Eternal True Gods exhaled in relief—only a small fraction had truly slaughtered indiscriminately.
“Our sect has two Chaotic Realm Ancestors—how dare you kill us?”
“Lord Luohe and Marquis Jiang are both Chaotic Realm—this is bullying the weak!”
Instantly, many of the massacre-perpetrating Eternal True Gods panicked, went mad.
But beneath the governor’s mansion’s array, they were easily restrained, unable to speak. The governor’s mansion was guarded by Luo Feng and Marquis Jiang—how could the Heart Shadow Sect’s Eternal True Gods resist?
“My governor’s mansion recorded many scenes of plundering and massacre throughout the city,” Jiang Yuyou said to Mo Luo Sa beside him. “And the Heart Shadow Sect itself kept records of those very acts. Every perpetrator will be found—no innocent Eternal True God will be wrongly killed.”
“Our master is still merciful,” Mo Luo Sa observed calmly at the Heart Shadow Sect’s Eternal True Gods.
“Lord Luohe is merciful.”
“Those who loved massacre deserve death.”
“Those weak commoners had no resistance—they didn’t need to be slaughtered. Only a few reckless disciples caused trouble and dragged us down.”
“Lord Luohe is truly merciful—he spared us.”
The Heart Shadow Sect’s surviving Eternal True Gods praised him.
As long as they lived, what did the sect matter?
The sect had already decayed and split—now it was better to vanish entirely.
……
In the Yu Kingdom’s capital, within the cave mansion of Princess Yu Shuitianyu.
“What?”
Yu Shuitianyu received detailed intelligence on the battle in Huyang City. A sudden emergence of a peak Chaotic Realm existence might go unnoticed among the two ancient kingdoms—but in marginal second- or third-tier states, it was a major event. Clients of the Yanfeng Guild’s secret archives who subscribed to long-term intelligence received the news immediately.
“This Luohe is actually a peak Chaotic Realm existence hiding in Huyang City?” Yu Shuitianyu couldn’t believe it.
As the daughter of the Yu Kingdom’s ruler, she held high status and broad knowledge—she knew exactly what a peak Chaotic Realm existence meant! In marginal states, such a being could dictate internal order. Even imperial heirs of the two ancient kingdoms had to show restraint before such power.
“Summon Hei Tufu and Suozhi.” Yu Shuitianyu ordered.
“Yes.” The attendant outside bowed and quickly returned with Hei Tufu and his disciple Suozhi, both bowing respectfully. Their lives had grown far more comfortable since arriving in the capital.
“Your Highness,” Hei Tufu and Suozhi bowed. Suozhi was puzzled—he was merely Hei Tufu’s disciple and had never before been granted an audience with the princess.
“I just received news,” Yu Shuitianyu smiled at them. “Lord Liuyin personally intervened in Huyang City.”
Hei Tufu and Suozhi were startled.
He actually acted?
“Luohe struck back and defeated Lord Liuyin,” Yu Shuitianyu said, watching their shock—she too had been stunned when she first heard it.
“This… this…” Hei Tufu and Suozhi couldn’t believe it.
!.
“Lord Luohe’s true identity is a peak Chaotic Realm existence who has been hiding in Huyang City,” Yu Shuitianyu said. “During his concealment, you two managed to befriend him—that’s your fortune.”
“You may leave now,” Yu Shuitianyu ordered.
“Yes.” Hei Tufu and Suozhi bowed and withdrew respectfully.
Yu Shuitianyu watched their backs: “They may prove useful later.”
Yanfeng Guild.
Di Chuyu and Luo Feng sat apart, the deputy guildmaster accompanying them.
“Brother Luohe, you’ve fooled me well,” Di Chuyu laughed. “I truly thought you were just an Eternal True God.”
“I hid in Huyang City to focus on refining my body cultivation,” Luo Feng explained.
With Mo Luo Sa by his side, he had to act relatively normally.
Admitting he was a hidden peak Chaotic Realm existence was the best explanation. Others might suspect he was a reincarnated powerhouse—but such suspicion was trivial.
“You’ve long been Chaotic Realm, and I’ve also reached it for some time,” Di Chuyu said. “We can now prepare to return to Yanfeng Ancient Kingdom.”
“I’m ready to depart at any moment,” Luo Feng said.
Thanks to the vast intelligence from his master, Zuoshanke, and Duan Donghe, Luo Feng was deeply curious about Yanfeng Ancient Kingdom—he truly wished to see it. Also, Yuanzu was there; he had promised to meet him.
“The true powerhouses of the Origin Continent are mostly within the two ancient kingdoms,” Di Chuyu said. “For Chaotic Realm cultivation, marginal states usually hit a ceiling at peak Chaotic Realm. But in the two ancient kingdoms… there are far stronger, unique lineages that allow Chaotic Realm cultivators to reach the power of ordinary Divine Kings.”
“That level of power is what our two ancient kingdoms consider the true limit of Chaotic Realm—called ‘Chaotic Realm Transcendence,’” Di Chuyu explained.
“And for Divine King cultivation, our two ancient kingdoms far surpass any other nation.”
“The rulers of Yu Kingdom, Shi Kingdom, and other powerful Divine Kings who founded second-tier states are almost all guest ministers of the two ancient kingdoms,” Di Chuyu said. “Except for the native factions, every power on the Origin Continent chooses to ally with one of the two ancient kingdoms.”
Luo Feng nodded.
He knew this.
Marginal states on the Origin Continent must choose one side to ally with! Only first-tier powers can maintain ties with both kingdoms.
Yu Kingdom, Shi Kingdom… their territories held only Yanfeng Guild branches.
“On the Origin Continent, the two ancient kingdoms set the rules,” Di Chuyu said.
All other strong ones revolve around them.
“The territories controlled by the two ancient kingdoms form the very center of the Origin Continent, and the continent’s most precious resources lie in their hands,” Di Chuyu said, looking at Luo Feng. “But internal competition within the kingdoms is fierce.”
“In Yanfeng Ancient Kingdom, there are countless factions.”
“Thirteen imperial branches, disciples of the Emperor, disciples of guest Divine Kings, and wandering cultivators like yourself—internal competition is utterly ruthless,” Di Chuyu said. “There’s only so much precious resource to go around, but too many competitors. The strong grow stronger; the weak get nothing.”
Di Chuyu looked at Luo Feng. “When I return to the kingdom, I’ll need your help. And I’ll help you in return.”
“Understood. I’ve heard the two ancient kingdoms are filled with powerful figures and cutthroat competition,” Luo Feng said.
Avengeing my master, Zuoshanke, won’t be easy.
When Shi Kingdom’s three rulers joined forces, my master Zuoshanke still escaped. Clearly, killing a Divine King is extremely difficult.
To kill Shi Kingdom’s three rulers, I must far surpass them…
To reach that level, I don’t even have a suitable lineage yet! The best path is to go to Yanfeng Ancient Kingdom.
Competition?
I’ve never been afraid of competition!
“Besides internal competition, there’s also the conflict with the Thunder Ancient Kingdom,” Di Chuyu said. “Border clashes between the Flame Wind Ancient Kingdom and the Thunder Ancient Kingdom have never ceased—minor conflicts are battles among Chaos Realm cultivators; major conflicts… are fought by the Divine Kings.”
“I’ve heard all about it,” Luo Feng grinned, his inner battle spirit surging.
Warfare?
With a perfect Divine Body of the Chaos Realm, fused with all five Transformations, why fear warfare?
“Good,” Di Chuyu said, watching Luo Feng’s confident demeanor, feeling even more elated. To be honest, he had some worries about the future—he was newly ascended, still weak. In the early stages of growth, he truly needed the aid of his guest masters.
“Soon, a new director will arrive at the Flame Wind Pavilion. Once the handover is complete, we can return,” Di Chuyu added, looking forward to it.
