Chapter 112: Meeting the Primordial Ancestor
In the northern region of the Flame Wind Ancient Nation, in the North Vulture Chaos Region, within Yin Vulture City.
Yin Vulture City, as a third-class large city of the Flame Wind Ancient Nation, is large enough to rival Hu Yang City; its garrison strength far surpasses that of frontier kingdom cities.
The city’s military force alone could sweep across the Nine Jiang Chaos Region and Liu Yin Chaos Region.
“According to Luo Feng, his servant Mo Luo Sa will arrive in Yin Vulture City today.” Inside a modest tavern in the city, Yuan Zu sat alone on the upper floor, sipping wine and watching the outside world.
As deputy commander of the City Guard, Yuan Zu had specifically requested leave.
The City Guard operated with two sets of personnel who could rotate duties; sometimes, prolonged cultivation seclusion required extended absence, so when Yuan Zu took leave, the other deputy commander assumed his responsibilities.
“My Lord,” the tavern attendant bowed deeply, delivering a selection of delicacies with utmost humility.
An Eternal True God, and moreover a deputy commander of the City Guard, was a being these ordinary taverns dared not offend.
Yuan Zu drank wine, ate delicacies, and waited patiently.
“Boom—boom—boom~~~”
Suddenly, a terrifying aura spread from afar.
Yuan Zu looked up and saw a young boy riding a serpentine monstrous beast, flying through Yin Vulture City; behind him, several bodyguards followed aboard flying vessels.
“It’s the city guardian’s second son, ‘General Yu.’” Yuan Zu recognized him at a glance—the boy was the most unruly presence in all of Yin Vulture City.
The city guardian of Yin Vulture City was a Chaos Realm guest minister entrusted with guarding this frontier city.
He had two children: the eldest had become a disciple of a God King; the second son remained by his side.
“That’s a Chaos Realm monstrous beast—controlled by secret methods. I heard the city guardian paid a heavy price to obtain it from a God King, solely to serve as his son’s mount and guardian.” Yuan Zu silently marveled.
A Chaos Realm monstrous beast, used merely as a mount—who among the city’s Eternal True Gods wouldn’t envy it?
Who dared provoke young General Yu? He possessed numerous protective treasures, and his mount was terrifying in power.
“Uncle Han, I heard my father has emerged from seclusion?” General Yu, riding his mount, was ecstatic—he had rushed back from outside the city.
“The master has just emerged; there’s no need for you to rush so urgently,” the serpentine beast replied telepathically; it had been utterly subjugated, its former savagery long extinguished, allowing the city guardian to trust it with protecting his second son.
“I want to show Father my catch, Uncle Han, hurry up, hurry up!” General Yu urged.
The serpentine beast slightly accelerated, darting twice, ensuring the pursuing bodyguards clearly saw it arrive at the “City Guardian Mansion.”
“We struggle for years just to earn a single lineage transmission. Yet General Yu gets a Chaos Realm monstrous beast as a mount.”
“Keep accumulating merit slowly; with enough merit, you can still exchange for a transmission.”
Many Eternal True Gods in the city noticed this scene, helpless with envy.
This was merely the son of a Chaos Realm guest minister; the legendary core members of the Flame Wind Ancient Nation’s imperial clan possessed resources far beyond comparison.
……
“Luo Feng said he’s now a guest minister of the Flame Wind Ancient Nation,” Yuan Zu watched General Yu’s mount vanish from sight. “The resources he can access must be comparable to those of Yin Vulture City’s city guardian.”
At this moment, Mo Luo Sa, with his earnest face, arrived beneath the tavern with a group of bodyguards, suppressing his aura.
This tavern was the place Yuan Zu and Luo Feng had agreed to meet.
“Yuan Zu?” Mo Luo Sa, being a Chaos Realm being, instantly identified Yuan Zu within the tavern.
“Wait here,” Mo Luo Sa instructed, then silently entered the tavern.
The bodyguards dispatched by Marquis Chu Yu could only wait outside.
Even now, they still didn’t know… what the true purpose of this mission was! They only knew to obey the orders of Luo He’s servant.
Inside the tavern.
Yuan Zu suddenly turned his head—a humble figure had already pushed the door open.
“Mo Luo Sa?” Yuan Zu looked at him; Luo Feng had already provided a detailed description of Mo Luo Sa’s appearance, so Yuan Zu recognized him immediately.
“Deputy Commander Yuan?” Mo Luo Sa smiled slightly. “I’ve come on the orders of my master, Luo He.”
Yuan Zu smiled and nodded.
“We leave Yin Vulture City now,” Mo Luo Sa said.
“No handover with the City Guard?” Yuan Zu asked.
“The quieter, the better. All handover arrangements will be taken care of,” Mo Luo Sa replied.
Mo Luo Sa believed this operation was extremely cautious; even the bodyguards under his command didn’t know the final destination! The struggle among the “Seven First-Rank Marquises” of the Di Chu lineage was brutal—no caution was excessive.
As long as they safely returned to Luo Feng’s cave dwelling, everything would be settled.
Mo Luo Sa said: “You must temporarily reside within my spatial treasure.”
“Hah, Luo He already told me,” Yuan Zu rose.
Mo Luo Sa nodded, then waved his hand, sealing Yuan Zu inside the spatial treasure he carried, and immediately slipped out of the tavern to rejoin his bodyguards.
“Go.”
Though bewildered, the bodyguards obeyed and departed silently.
If intercepted, they would present the “First-Rank Marquis Token” to resolve the matter; if unobstructed, they would simply slip away unnoticed. Without any awareness, Yuan Zu quietly left Yin Vulture City.
“Huh? Where has Deputy Commander Yuan’s identity token vanished?”
The City Guard could track the location of all members at any time—but now, Yuan Zu’s identity token could no longer be located.
Since he was merely a deputy commander, the City Guard merely reported the matter immediately; this information would not reach the city guardian for some time.
……
The city guardian of Yin Vulture City was currently accompanying his second son.
“Hmm?” The city guardian suddenly received a message.
“The Imperial Clan’s First-Rank Marquis, Marquis Chu Yu, has requested a transfer order to reassign the City Guard’s deputy commander ‘Yuan’?” The city guardian frowned slightly. “A First-Rank Marquis requests a transfer order… just to move a lowly deputy commander?”
Once approved by the imperial clan, such orders were final; the city guardian had no authority to object.
In the Flame Wind Ancient Nation, the imperial clan managed every aspect of the realm—even mission assignments were allocated by its core leadership. No matter how noble a guest minister’s status… they could only choose or refuse missions; they had no right to interfere in the nation’s governance.
Yuan’s transfer required no objection from the city guardian—only notification.
!.
“Investigate: where is the City Guard’s deputy commander ‘Yuan’?” the city guardian ordered.
“His identity token cannot be locked? He must have already left Yin Vulture City?” The city guardian frowned. “This Yuan’s identity must be unusual. Marquis Chu Yu likely fears I’ll interfere.”
Though legally, the city guardian had no authority to block the transfer.
Yet as a powerful Chaos Realm guest minister, he possessed the power to obstruct it secretly and unseen.
By the time the other First-Rank Marquises of the Di Chu lineage became aware of the transfer order, Yuan had already left Yin Vulture City.
Five days later.
In Chu Capital, Mo Luo Sa had quietly returned to Luo Feng’s cave dwelling.
“Master,” Mo Luo Sa brought Yuan Zu to report the mission’s completion.
Luo Feng had already emerged from seclusion to greet them; he instantly recognized the gray-robed man walking with Mo Luo Sa.
“Yuan,” Luo Feng smiled and spoke; they had previously agreed on their names on the Origin Continent. Calling him “Yuan Zu” would immediately reveal Yuan Zu’s extraordinary significance to Luo Feng.
“Luo He,” Yuan Zu smiled back, using the name Luo He.
“Master, everything went smoothly,” Mo Luo Sa said.
Luo Feng nodded: “Good. You’ve worked hard—rest now.”
Mo Luo Sa understood his master and Yuan Zu had matters to discuss; he sensed the clear closeness between them and obediently withdrew.
“Yuan, come with me,” Luo Feng immediately led Yuan Zu to a quiet chamber, entering the Star Tower.
……
Within one level of the Star Tower.
“Look,” Luo Feng pointed ahead, where vast quantities of items were stored—lineage scriptures, celestial wonders, refined elixirs, weapons, and spatial treasures. “These were seized after I crushed the Heart Shadow Sect. They offer limited aid to Chaos Realm cultivators, but contain abundant resources to assist Eternal True Gods in cultivation.”
The Heart Shadow Sect had cultivated elite disciples systematically, accumulating vast quantities of wonders and treasures.
“So much?” Yuan Zu saw numerous scriptures leading to the Chaos Realm; God King scriptures were rare, but Chaos Realm scriptures were plentiful.
“Back in Yin Vulture City, I labored tirelessly to accumulate merit just to earn a decent lineage transmission,” Yuan Zu sighed. “Now, here lies a pile of them.”
Luo Feng smiled.
Previously, to help Yuan Zu, he had needed to cultivate and master a transmission himself, then transmit it via Memory Stones in their home’s primal universe region.
Now, on the Origin Continent, Yuan Zu could learn directly.
“Choose freely from these resources,” Luo Feng said.
“Resources must still be planned carefully—many of our people’s future generations will arrive here,” Yuan Zu gazed at the vast wealth; he had once been an ordinary Eternal True God, a lowly deputy commander, his entire collection worth less than one hundred thousand cosmic sands—yet here lay treasures valued at billions of cosmic sands.
Luo Feng smiled: “When other human cultivators arrive, these treasures will be insignificant.”
Leaving aside other matters.
Simply fully digesting the First Trial of the “Eight Trials of Life” and perfecting his Transformation Art would allow him to advance further.
“Yuan, cultivate here at your leisure; if you wish to leave, just say so,” Luo Feng said.
“You go ahead,” Yuan Zu, brimming with determination, was eager to study and utilize these transmissions and resources.
Luo Feng nodded and vanished immediately, retreating to his own level within the Star Tower.
Luo Feng had temporarily emerged from cultivation to meet Yuan Zu.
Now he resumed studying the “Life Spirit” section of the First Trial of the “Eight Trials of Life.” Previously, Luo Feng had learned basic applications of life spirit by studying Chaos Realm beings; this “Life Spirit” section, however, recorded all the mysteries of the life spirit path, along with multiple secret techniques.
Luo Feng did not rush to perfect his Transformation Art; instead, he slowly studied and accumulated knowledge.
