Chapter 128: The Emperor Jun Takes a Disciple (Part 2)

~10 min read 1,805 words

Luo Feng stood inside the cave dwelling, gazing at the Azure Dragon General high above, and said without hesitation: "If the Emperor Jun wishes to take me as a disciple, it is my fortune—I willingly accept."

Luo Feng had already prepared himself for the Emperor Jun taking a disciple, and had carefully considered it.

Among the thirteen Emperor Jun of the Yanfeng Ancient Nation, Emperor Chu's power was terrifying; historical records showed every time he acted, he swept away other ancient beings. He was low-key, bore no evil reputation, and generally devoted himself to cultivation.

Luo Feng was willing to become Emperor Chu's disciple.

After all, he knew clearly that with a Master's aid, he could avoid countless detours.

"Good, come with me." The Azure Dragon General finally smiled, gestured, and an invisible ripple enveloped Luo Feng as they flew together toward Emperor Chu's Palace.

"Luo He, congratulations." During the flight, Emperor Chu Yu also offered his congratulations.

"I also owe you thanks for bringing me to Chu Capital," Luo Feng replied gratefully.

"Hahaha… With your strength, even without me, you would have risen swiftly," Emperor Chu Yu said.

Soon, under the Azure Dragon General's guidance, they arrived before Emperor Chu's Palace.

"You may all withdraw. I will take Luo He to meet the Emperor Jun," said the Azure Dragon General.

"Yes." The guards withdrew. Emperor Chu Yu stood outside Emperor Chu's Palace, smiled faintly, and did not follow further.

Immediately, Luo Feng entered the palace with the Azure Dragon General—a structure that seemed fused with primordial darkness.

Moments later.

Luo Feng and the Azure Dragon General entered an ancient grand hall, where they immediately saw a towering figure seated on the ground. That massive form, seated there, appeared as the center of infinite heaven and earth.

As if heaven and earth could perish, but he would not.

His breath was more terrifying than the might of heaven and earth.

Merely by looking at Luo Feng, he gave Luo Feng the sensation of facing the primordial Dao of life itself.

Luo Feng understood: this figure before him must be one of the thirteen Emperor Jun of the royal clan—Emperor Chu.

"Emperor Jun," the Azure Dragon General bowed, "Luo He has been brought."

The Emperor Jun nodded slightly, and the Azure Dragon General immediately withdrew from the hall.

The hall now held only Luo Feng and the Emperor Jun.

"Luo He," Emperor Chu smiled at Luo Feng, "I've carefully reviewed your past recently. You come from the Original Universe?"

Luo Feng was startled, but did not conceal it—he bowed immediately: "Yes, I indeed come from the Original Universe."

Emperor Chu smiled approvingly: "Beings of the Original Universe are exceedingly weak. To grow from weakness to True God is difficult. You've reached the Chaotic Realm and transcended… truly impressive."

"Don't be nervous," Emperor Chu said. "Countless elder ancestors among today's cultivators once walked from the Original Universe. They came to the Origin Continent and, after endless eons of proliferation, gave rise to this multitude of beings. The original natives of the Origin Continent are almost all confined to the Eastern Pole Region."

Luo Feng was aware of this.

"Let me ask you again: are you a reincarnated cultivator?" Emperor Chu asked. Even the Yanfeng Ancient Nation's methods were powerful, yet could not breach the Supreme Rules.

"No," Luo Feng shook his head.

Emperor Chu nodded.

"Among the thirteen Emperor Jun, I have taken the fewest disciples—only two," Emperor Chu looked at Luo Feng. "I choose disciples based on talent and compatibility of temperament. Your talent is excellent, and your character pleases me—hence my decision to take you as a disciple."

Emperor Chu said, "Before you formally become my disciple, think clearly: do you truly wish to take this step?"

"To become a disciple is a great karmic bond."

"The Master-disciple relationship is no less than blood kinship," Emperor Chu said. "A Master chooses a disciple, and a disciple chooses a Master! Think carefully. Once you become my disciple, no other supreme beings of the Origin Continent will ever accept you as their disciple."

Luo Feng understood perfectly: the Master-disciple bond was a great karmic tie!

Yet how many of the Origin Continent's supreme beings even noticed him? Moreover, Luo Feng had his own principles—he would not become disciple to beings steeped in unfathomable sin.

"I have thought clearly," Luo Feng immediately knelt, forehead touching the ground, performing the great bow. "Disciple Luo Feng, pays homage to Master."

"Luo Feng?" Emperor Chu paused.

"Luo Feng is my true name, entangled in karmic ties, so I've always used Luo He," Luo Feng said. Since he had decided to become a disciple, he no longer concealed his true name.

"Hahaha… good, good, good!" Emperor Chu laughed. "From today, Luo Feng, you are my third direct disciple!"

"Luo Feng, the karmic ties you carry—do you need me to help resolve them?" Emperor Chu asked.

"No need, I can resolve them myself," Luo Feng said.

Emperor Chu nodded in satisfaction: "Since you are entangled in karma, I will keep your true name secret. I am pleased to see you rely on yourself to solve your troubles."

"Today, as your new Master, I have prepared three gifts for you," Emperor Chu said, looking at Luo Feng. "The first gift: the two lineages you chose—'Eight Catastrophe Life Form' First Catastrophe and 'Seven-Twenty-Seven Slash' First Scroll—once you master them, you may receive the subsequent teachings for free."

Luo Feng was astonished.

All teachings of these two lineages up to the Divine King Ultimate Realm would be free?

The 'Eight Catastrophe Life Form' First Catastrophe and 'Seven-Twenty-Seven Slash' First Scroll he currently held were both Divine King First Realm techniques, each worth roughly 100, 00 Merit. To advance further—to the Divine King Second Realm—would require 3 million Merit. The Divine King Third Realm (Ultimate Realm) techniques demanded 100 million Merit.

To obtain these techniques, some Divine King guest elders had to fight to the death for the Yanfeng Ancient Nation.

These two lineages together were worth roughly 200 million Merit! As long as his realm advanced, he would receive them for free—that was the difference between outsiders and direct disciples.

"My second gift," Emperor Chu said, looking at Luo Feng, then flipped his hand to reveal a stone box. Inside lay ten fruits glowing with faint red light. Merely smelling their fragrance, Luo Feng felt his soul nourished, his mental processing speed accelerating several-fold. "These are 'Primordial Crystal Spirit Fruits,' grown from the Primordial Crystal Jade. The Ancestor gave them to me long ago—they no longer serve me, so I give you ten."

"These Primordial Crystal Spirit Fruits grow from a tree nourished by Primordial Crystal Jade. They have miraculous effects on the soul, enhancing harmony with the Supreme Rules and greatly elevating comprehension," Emperor Chu said. "They are not native to the Source World. Their number is exceedingly rare—no Merit can buy them. Use them sparingly."

"I advise you: consume five during the Chaotic Realm stage, and five more during the Divine King First Realm stage."

"Yes, Master," Luo Feng felt the depth of his Master's intent.

!

Emperor Chu looked at Luo Feng: "What weapon do you use most often?"

Luo Feng flipped his hand, revealing Blood Shadow Blade: "This blade."

Emperor Chu glanced at it: "A Divine King-grade blade core?"

Emperor Chu thought a moment, then flipped his hand and produced a clump of seven-colored soil. He casually tossed it onto Blood Shadow Blade, which greedily absorbed it entirely in the blink of an eye.

"Your blade core had reached its limit at Divine King First Realm," Emperor Chu said. "Now its potential has greatly increased—it may reach Divine King Ultimate Realm."

"I've provided the primary material. The auxiliary materials you must gather yourself. For a blade core, the most crucial part is your own cultivation of it." Emperor Chu spoke, and a streak of light struck Luo Feng—a secret technique for nurturing weapons.

Emperor Chu looked at Luo Feng: "The Ancestor's decree: even direct disciples must earn Merit through their own efforts."

"Master has already done much for this disciple," Luo Feng said gratefully.

Each of these three gifts held immense value.

"I am not skilled at guiding disciples," Emperor Chu said, looking at Luo Feng. "I am not proficient in the Primordial Dao of Life—rely on yourself for that. As for the Dao of Destruction… that happens to be my own path. If you encounter confusion, come ask me."

Luo Feng nodded: "Disciple understands."

"Do you have any questions now?" Emperor Chu looked at Luo Feng.

"Not at the moment," Luo Feng shook his head.

His accumulation in the Dao of Destruction was still low—he had not even reached the peak of the Chaotic Realm. He was still in a phase of rapid growth; he would ask only when he truly hit a bottleneck.

"Good," Emperor Chu smiled and nodded. "As my direct disciple, you may prioritize selection of special missions—before they are issued to the First-Rank Marquises of the royal clan."

"Understood," Luo Feng nodded.

"Go now. Cultivate diligently. Become a Divine King soon. None of my disciples… have yet become a Divine King," Emperor Chu sighed.

"Disciple will strive," Luo Feng bowed immediately. "Disciple takes leave."

Luo Feng immediately withdrew from the grand hall.

Gazing at the primordial darkness outside the hall, Luo Feng felt a surge of excitement.

The ten Primordial Crystal Spirit Fruits his Master had given him—merely smelling them offered great cultivation benefits. What would their true effect be if consumed? This was the first such wonder he had encountered since arriving on the Origin Continent!

Luo Feng could hardly wait to return and try one.

Inside the hall, Emperor Chu watched Luo Feng depart.

"My third direct disciple," Emperor Chu murmured, shaking his head slightly. "Alas, my abilities are limited—I cannot guide disciples well."

Take Emperor Qing, for example—his realm is so high that even when teaching disciples on different paths, he can swiftly identify their problems and point them toward the right method.

What of Emperor Chu? He can only offer precious resources. The rest must be left to the disciple.

"What good is taking disciples?" Emperor Chu gazed at the endless heavens beyond the hall. "This Source World will eventually end. At that time, how many will survive?"

"Even the Ancestor walks in darkness. Emperor Qing has also taken this path—he may one day aid the Ancestor."

"As for the other twelve of us—we are indeed mighty on the Origin Continent, but what are we if we leave this Source World?"

"And my disciples… they may never even have the qualification to leave this Source World."

"Cherish the bond you share with them within this Source World," Emperor Chu softly shook his head, closed his eyes, and sank into deep cultivation.
